My husband and I haven't been to Sports Stop in years even though we live across the way. Tonight we decided to go. We were so happy with the food. The Wino Mushrooms were fabulous, just as I remembered them to be! They were served up with some fresh cheesy bread that was mouth watering! I just had the BLTA-so good! And my husband had the steak sandwich. He said it's the best he has had!! To top it off our server Kierra was fabulous. She greeted us right away and got our night started. She was so attentive to our needs throughout our dining experience. Very sweet, very professional! The environment was enjoyable as well! It was different from what I remember and in a very good way. I will say that some of the items are really overpriced here including the drinks. The place itself is chill. Pizza was really good. There's a couple of pool tables here. I will say I was not a fan of the staff here. They were not very inviting, nor polite. Come off very just I want to drop your food off to your table and then disappear until its time to just plop the check on the table. Overall, I always have a great experience at our local bar and grill, here in the quaint community of Canyon Lake, CA, The Sport Stop. The food is always consistent, hot and freshly made. My favorite is the Poke appetizer bowl and the stuffed artichokes. The poke has the perfect amount of Ahi tuna, coleslaw, tomatoes, an amazing sauce served with crunchy light chips. I never regret ordering it. The stuffed artichoke is buttery, perfectly steamed with parmesan, and a dipping sauce. My husband usually orders a burger or a specialty pizza. ALL of them are delicious and the burgers are served with coated doubled baked french fries. The fries are absolutely delicious. The Sport Stop has a good selection of beers and cocktail menu, which could use a little revamping from a good mixologist and a line of better specialty drinks, (In my opinion). The vibe is warm community oriented feel, with lots of regulars who are always friendly and eager to talk to one another. A little bit of hip and little bit of sports feel. Lots of TV's to watch your favorite sports, a jukebox, and pool tables for the night life and weekend crowds. They also premiere local live bands on some weekends. The average age is 30-60 year old patrons. There is always a sea of golf carts parked in front of the establishment from our locals here. It's also family and pet friendly with a nice patio and heaters. The service is 90% good. Sometimes during busier hours, the wait time for a server is little longer than I think is appropriate, but overall is pretty good. Recently I've been sitting at the bar if I'm in a hurry. The service is faster. The restrooms are kept clean and tidy which is us ladies appreciate. Keep up the good work. We walked in and was told to self seat. I can't remember the girl who took care of us but she was very friendly and attentive. We sat in the front area away from the bar since our little one was with us. He loved the pizza we ordered for him. If I could give it a negative I absolutely would. My fiancé and I were sitting up at the bar. I ordered Parmesan crusted, chicken and rice and my fiancé ordered a bistro salad. I also ordered their meatball soup and it was brought out to me with no meatballs in it. The server went to go fix it right away and apologize then our dinner came out and I literally took two bites of it and their bar back was washing dishes and chewing tobacco, and chose to spit in the basin where you wash your stemware I told our bartender/manager and he called him into the back kitchen and must've said something to him that when he came back out about two minutes later, he had a major attitude. He continued washing dishes and looked at me with a smirk and I told him that's absolutely disgusting and unacceptable and his response was that he didn't spit where he washes the stem where he spit in the base next to it, which is still 100% unacceptable then I persisted to tell the manager that he pretty much laughed in my face and he said I'm so sorry and comped our dinner which we didn't even eat more than two bites of and didn't even bother to tell the employee to go home or reprimand him. Obviously they have some hard headed bouncers that are incapable of reasoning with customers and are oblivious to what a passport even means. They were very rude about a very simple issue. Came with a mayo sauce but missing something. Waitress was friendly but seemed overly busy with customers at the bar ordering their alcohol drinks. The food is good and reasonably priced, but the staff is out of control. We sat in a table in the corner by the kitchen. The table about 4 feet away from us was being used to roll silverware. A few staff members were gathered there rolling the silverware. They were speaking very loudly talking about personal things and using profanity. My six year old daughter is sitting right across from them. I finally had enough and told them to please quiet down as we were trying to enjoy our food and they were being rude. Instead of apologizing they rolled their eyes and all quieted down with the exception of one young man. He proceeded to mouth off more and use another swear word in front of my daughter. As we were leaving he began loudly making rude and negative remarks about me. My husband asked to speak with a manager and all four staff members refused to give us their information. We probably would return to eat their again had the experience with the staff been different.
