This is a must stop every time I'm in Bend. This is a family owned business, Joann and her daughter Tori were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They are very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions, and helped me considered some styles that I wouldn't have before. They made sure I found exactly what I needed. I walked out with a pair of sunglasses and prescription glasses that I am extremely happy with. The eye exam was impressive -- they use state-of-the-art equipment that made the process quick, thorough, and comfortable. I felt confident I was getting the best possible care for my vision. Oakley glasses are the only brand I have found that stay put on my face. I've worn their sunglasses for years. My eyes are VERY sensitive on bright sunny days and the wrap around style works great for me. When I started to need Rx glasses I went to the "in network" provider listed by EyeMed as an Oakley dealer. When I got there and asked for what I wanted, I was told they didn't make the sport style Oakleys in Rx. Not only that, but the store manager told me they only made a "clip-on" that goes behind the glasses!!! OMG. They don't know anything about the Oakley brand! For the record: Oakley makes many of their sport style sunglasses available in Prescription. They have to insert a separate lens into the shield due to the high angle of the curve. (I've attached a pic of mine) Both pairs I got from Sports Vision work perfectly and the Rx is spot on. Luckily for me, I did some searching on the internet and found out how wrong they were! The hard part is finding someone who can get them for you... Then I found Sports Vision Bend and was saved! Not only do they sell the Oakley line but they have a much wider selection than any other vendor I've been able to find. So far I have had them get for me in Oakley Rx ; clear M-Frames for indoor shooting, Clear Boomstand for night driving, clear Conductor for work / computer screen and RadarLock sunglasses in polarized black iridium!! I know that some people might be put off by the insert style of the wrap lens glasses but personally I don't give a hang about what people think. I want what works. And for me, at AT&T park in San Francisco on a bright Saturday afternoon watching my Giants, I need that wrap around style in prescription so I can see all the action on the field clearly. My experience with Sports Vision Bend customer service has been nothing less than stellar! Sports Vision Bend has some of the best customer service I've encountered with online purchasing. They respond to your questions quickly, get your order in same-day and it only takes about 10 days to get your glasses back from Oakley. Plus you get the hard case from Oakley and a nice microfiber cloth from Sports Vision as a bonus! I jokingly say that I'm "chemically dependent" on sunglasses. Truth is that I wear them A LOT. So, when I snapped one of the arms on my sunglasses it's time for immediate action and that means Sports Vision. I brought my busted pair in so that they could see the style I prefer. They showed me 5-6 pairs in varying price ranges. I settled on a pair of Smith Optics, the best choice given my needs. I'm pretty pleased with this pair! They suggested I returns previous pair to the manufacturer. I bought them there over a year ago and they told me they had stopped carrying that brand due to quality problems. We came here during our stroll downtown. My friend needed her glasses fixed after accidentally sitting on them. She had a pair of Cartier glasses with platinum metal. The guy Angelo was very nice and bent them for her for free! I was like Wow! Really? No charge! I thumbed through their selection of Oakley glasses. Todd just wanted to share that we received the glasses and your service has exceeded our expectations. It took only 6 days to receive it and they are perfect!. My Progresives as well as my wife's prescriptions are wonderfull! We had many local stores from Lenscraft to other independent vendors warning us to not buy via the internet. These retailers always wanted to sell you what they had and not what we wanted. One past experience on a local shop I got a different frame than what I ordered. Their excuse was that is because for prescriptions Maui Jim uses a different frame. However they should have told me that before I ordered so I guess they have all lost a family as a customer. Yelp doesn't have negative stars so I had to give Sports Vision 1-star. Why: I purchased subscription Oakley sunglasses 1 yr ago $700. On a trip to Kenai AK last week I lost the tiny nose pad...Friday I stopped at SV 4 a replacement: SV "we don't have 1; we can't loan 1 while ordering 1; we have different color full rubber kit (including pad & frame cover) $15; we will order correct color kit but you can't return different color kit; after I bought the black kit, SV called : we checked all sources, the brown or bronze rubber kit is not available, sorry we can't help you (via voice mail) when 1/2 of Oakley's frames are brown or bronze!". Before I left the store I asked politely for them to ask the owner if I could return the wrong color kit after borrowing the 50 cent nose pad for 2 weeks, they said they would, but I felt they were placating me. Worst customer service in most friendly Bend. Can someone please start a list for "Worst Customer Service". This is my second pair of Rx Oakley sunglasses, and this is the best place to order them from. Originally Oakley's site referred me to another reseller, but they ignored my question for more than a week. If I am going to be spending many hundreds of dollars on glasses, I expect at least better service than McDonalds. Next I found Sports Vision. They reply to all questions right away, seemingly unaware of time zones. I found all the options I wanted for my Bottle Rocket frames, and gave me updates all along the way with the ordering and status from the Oakley Lab. Shipping was free and only took 2 days to get to San Diego, but I already had the tracking number so I knew they were in transit. I live out in Massachusetts, and was looking for an on-line store that would replace the prescription Oakley Flack Jacket prescription frame/lens sunglasses that unfortunately I had lost.. My original pair was from a local store, and it struck me there was an incredible markup as my prescription is easy to fill and the frames needed no adjustment. Unfortunately, the biggest online prescription sunglasses storefront was relatively expensive. Other on-line sites seemed fishy to me. But Sports Vision Bend is a real store in a town that looks like a typical American town. Their prices and service were refreshingly first rate. The ordering process on line was easy. I received my prescription Flak Jackets with polarized bronze lenses. I have used them already for playing tennis and fishing. The optics and glare elimination are superb! The next day after purchasing a pair of Oakley Sliver sunglasses from Sports Vision Bend, I tried to return them. I had worn the glasses only briefly to test them out and had found them a little uncomfortable as well as too big for my face. A search of Oakley's website revealed that the sunglasses were designed for men. When I went back to the store only the owner was present. I told him my reasons for returning the glasses and that I wished to look for another, more suitable, pair. He told me he would not take the glasses back because they had a tiny scratch! There is no way I could have scratched them, so I said they must have been that way when I bought them. He disagreed and refused to take them back. And he was rude. So...I still have the glasses and will keep them. However, I will call Oakley in the morning. And, I never, ever intend to buy from Sports Vision Bend again! (Downtown Bend, by the way, is a friendly, fun place to shop. This is my first unpleasant downtown experience in the eleven years I've lived here.) read more
