We arrived at night and visibility is very low. The gps had me turn onto a golf cart sized roadway so be careful. The tv remote pictured is not the remote for the tv and the tv can't be powered or controlled manually. The batteries looked like the very first pair made, lol. The elevators were still broken. The pool was mostly the shining light. There were friendly people there. The only major hiccup was the kitchen. My son and I were the second party seated at 615p. It wasn't until we received our drinks that we were informed that the kitchen was in the process of catering for a wedding. While attempting to leave, the waitress said she'd check to see how long it would be before we could order. She then tells us we could order entrees in ten minutes but she could take an appetizer order. It's now 640p. We have not received our appetizer, and we haven't been asked our order. I then overhear our waitress receiving the full order of a party that arrived sometime after we did. I guess it helped that the party was wearing shirts associated with the golfing tournament.

The low star rating is because of my room. Leftover trash in various spots around my room. The bathroom was extremely dated and worn. The shower 'shelf' normally available for bar soap was missing and the scare on the wall was evident. The bar soap is the smallest soap I have ever scene. I have low expectations when staying at IHG properties these days and knew coming to this small town that is a military fueled region would likely provide low overall standards. Again, the staff was amazing, just wish they would invest in some upgrading for the rooms.

The Hampton in which is 50 meters up the road who is owned by the same person does not offer CTRs the GOV rate. Just look at the Stars for the IHG vs the Hampton Inn in Leesville and you can see a clear difference. The owner needs to start taking care of his customers if he wants to keep them. Yes there are limited places to stay in SLeesville and typically CTRs typically want to keep their Hilton Honors or Marriott Points. But if you want to be treated like a customer I would recommend this IHG. Cleaner, nicer staff, and they give the GOV rate.

The campsite is at the end of a farm road so theirs no traffic other than other campers an bring your side by side or four wheeler! I do recommend this place, just make sure to bring groceries an such as the town of Broaddus doesn't have much.

So I will say that the weather was stormy bad all evening and morning and I kept getting an SOS on my phone which meant, if I understood correctly, my iPhone was not in an area my provider is - Verizon. And, have never stayed here or in this area, not sure how to gauge this. And, BTW, yesterday was the solar eclipse and we were a bit east of its path so there's that. I had luck with Comfort Suites in the past so here is where I chose. This hotel was clean, the room was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. There was also food offered in the evenings and breakfast in the morning free of charge. In the evening the food was jambalaya and the morning was the typical free breakfast at business travel hotels. If you find yourself in Leesville and don't want to stay in the barracks with a bunch of assclowns, Comfort Suites should be on your radar.

Housekeeping staff were understanding and assisted me with cleanup (yes, I know it's their job but to clean up after 9 teenage girls isn't in their job description). The buffet style continental breakfast was great as well. Indoor pool facility was wonderful. Really no complaints at all.
