Ordered three low-dollar items online for in-store pickup today. Drove to the retail store 2 hours after ordering. Nobody manning the pickup desk, so I got in the pay-line. When it was my turn, I told them my last name and indicated order-pickup. I was told the items hadn't been pulled yet. Counter person said it can sometimes take 5-6 hours, or even a few days, to get online order items pulled and ready. I asked if I could just go get the items myself from the shelves, come back, match them up against my email-received receipt, and take them with me? Nope. Can't do that. Said I would have to go home, cancel the order online, and drive back to the store. I wasn't going to do that. Asked them if they could just cancel the order here at the checkout counter? Nope, can't do that. Said they could give me the 1-800 number to call to cancel the order, which I called, from the parking-lot. Operator said she would submit the cancellation, but that it could take 2-3 business days to process. All of this was utterly obtuse and inconvenient. When getting home, I found that the website doesn't allow cancellation of an order online anyway. The final insult? When I returned home I received an email that my order was ready for pickup. So much wrong with this. Never again, Sportsman's. Long time customer who now will not spend another dime with you. The logistics were inefficient enough, but it was the we-don't-care attitude that was acute. read more

came in here on a saturday evening to get some camping supplies. I usually go to cabelas but we were over at the big albertsons so we popped in to see if they had anything we might need. every person we encountered the entire time was so friendly. even though they were clearly under staffed they were all very kind. the man at the knife counter was very knowledgeable and friendly. the prices were good too- and they had a coupon for $20 off every single order of $100 or more. I did not know about this- the checker just applied it for us and told us about it. she did not have to do that! it was really cool and a good surprise. No ammo in stock when I went, except a few boxes of 45-70, 3 25 packs of .357, and 2 boxes of 9mm. All of the shelves are empty. They also allow only 2 boxes TOTAL to be purchased. On top of that, the long haired sales associate at the gun counter had ATTITUDE dripping off of his body posture and facial expression. I got the feeling he hated me....? WTH happened to this place? I was unsuccessful finding what I needed at Cabela's (an anniversary gift for my husband) and decided to try Sportsman's Warehouse for the same item. Sportsman's had what I needed, but not the right size. Luckily, I asked for help, and Chase appeared. CHASE was AWESOME (Meridian store)! Chase helped me navigate through the different Sitka jackets and even called another store for the size I was inquiring about. While he was busy on the phone, I continued to look through the hunting jackets. Chase sent another associate over to me to help with any questions I might've had while he was stuck on the phone. Afterwards, I questioned Chase about a different jacket (still a Sitka), he patiently answered all my questions, and even queried my husband over the phone, to find out exactly what he needed. I can't say enough about how well represented Sportsman's Warehouse is by this young man! After this very positive experience with Sportsman's, I will definitely begin my shopping there from now on, and likewise, I will be happy to refer any friends. A friendly salesman named Kevin immediately approached us and asked how he could help, answered my questions about the grill, and pointed out that it was on sale at a price comparable to Internet outlets with a 30 day return policy. Kevin loaded up the grill on a cart along with some bags of pellets that were also on sale, took us to checkout where he waited while a friendly cashier rung us out and got me signed up for their rewards program, then wheeled the cart out to my rig where he loaded the grill and pellets for us. I have been a loyal REI and very occasionally a Cabala's customer. Impulse shopped at this store in this location. Masks are newly optional. The store was packed, and it was the Friday before Father's Day. (and 100 degrees out). Seems like a recipe for "not fabulous." We worked with Chase looking for woman's light hiking shoe. He was informed, had a great sense of humor, never made us feel rushed. He handled his part with casual professionalism (surprising for his youthful age). I'd give 5 stars because of Chase, however, one cashier open and 11 people in line seemed weak. All things considered, I will return again in the future. Well done Chase! read more

Called in today asking if they had life jackets. Held for a while. Then got transferred. Asked a lady if they had life jackets, then got transferred again. Asked a new lady if they had life jackets and she said "yeah we have all sorts! What are you looking for?" I explained I had a ten year old boy and then a 15 year old boy who wore an adult large. "Oh yeah, we've got you covered. Come on down." I show up less than 15 minutes later and they have one life jacket on the rack that is too big for either of my boys. I asked someone if they had more. When I brought in my receipt to return the items they said they won't return food. It's non-perishable freeze dried food, that's been in my temperature controlled house and they won't take back. Bought a ZPAPM70 AK Hogue and CheyTac Freedom Forged CT15F online to be delivered to the Sportsman's on Fairview in Boise Idaho. Went into the store to pick up one of the rifles that came in on 4/18/22, went in circles with a poorly trained employee at the gun counter, asked for a manager and a man named Bishop was very quick and polite to help me in a very knowledgeable manner. I went back today 4/21/22 to pick up the second rifle that was already bought and paid for from a week before. Again I had an issue with an unprofessional short red bearded man at the gun counter so I asked for Bishop and was told he was not working today so I went to the front of the store and asked for the store manager. A lady named Dani claimed to be the store manager after listening to the issue I was having said she would handle it. I told her how Bishop had helped me a few days earlier and if he had quit and she said no, I asked if he was fired to which she didn't reply. Prior to Dani and I finalizing the transaction of the second rifle I had already bought and paid for, she stated she was not going to sell the rifle to me, where does she get off, she couldn't handle a little criticism of the store's customer service. I said I would be calling her corporate office to which she replied she had already called them. Are you seeing the picture, this lady had a hair deep up some place, she is for sure not leadership and managerial material. I get it, a lot of businesses are having a hard time finding, hiring and keeping good help but I know for a fact this is an ongoing issue at this Sportsman's Warehouse for over a year now as I witnessed the same poor service a year ago when I bought a shotgun at this same store. As for calling Sportsman's Warehouse's corporate office, good luck, all I got was, "Leave your name and number and we will get back to you.". I drove a few blocks away and found the same gun for $18 less at a store with real knowledge of guns and they were polite and had great customer service. Ya I will never buy again from Sportsman's nor will my friends and family members and I suggest you all find a better store to spend your hard earned money at. I attempted to return a box of Daisy CO2 cartridges this evening that I had purchased there just a few hours earlier. When I got home and opened the box I discovered them to be the wrong style. They had no threads to attach them to my device. When I bought them an associate told me "these here are what you need" so I bought them. I was unable to return immediately but did so as soon as I could. I was told I could not exchange or return them because they don't know if I used them them brought them back. Basically accusing me of being a thief. Also you can indeed tell if they have been used or not. To use one, one must puncture the metal cap covering the outlet. This is a fairly thick metal, not tin foil as the contents are under a lot of pressure and it would be very easy to tell if it was punctured or doctored to look like it hadn't been. I've been a long time customer and have spent a couple grand in the last year on knives, gun parts, ammunition and gear. I've purchased several firearms from them in the past, I shudder to think how much I've spent in that store since it opened, hell, I got Ted Nugents autograph on a copy of Kill it and Grill it there 14-15 years ago but will no longer give them my business. I'll go out of my way to a store that treats customers with respect. All over a $10.59 purchase. Poor business if you ask me, thank you Mr. Hunting manager. On the bright side the young lady that cashiered me was also working the return/license desk when I came back to return them and she was very nice, polite and a pleasure to deal with. read more

Amazing customer service! Went here to buy my first handgun and the guy at the gun counter was amazingly helpful. Paid equal attention to each customer and did not seem frustrated or anything by the non stop questions and customers coming up to the counter. He spent at least an hour showing me different guns and even told me not to rush buy to take my time. So I didn't even buy a gun that day. A few days later I had come to a decision and a new guy was behind the counter but he was just as helpful and the prices were cheaper than other stores I had looked at.
