I pointed out the price tag and he blamed an 80 year old guy who works for him, along with other employees for not doing their job properly. Ordered three low-dollar items online for in-store pickup today. Drove to the retail store 2 hours…read moreafter ordering. Nobody manning the pickup desk, so I got in the pay-line. When it was my turn, I told them my last name and indicated order-pickup. I was told the items hadn't been pulled yet. Counter person said it can sometimes take 5-6 hours, or even a few days, to get online order items pulled and ready. I asked if I could just go get the items myself from the shelves, come back, match them up against my email-received receipt, and take them with me? Nope. Can't do that. Said I would have to go home, cancel the order online, and drive back to the store. I wasn't going to do that. Asked them if they could just cancel the order here at the checkout counter? Nope, can't do that. Said they could give me the 1-800 number to call to cancel the order, which I called, from the parking-lot. Operator said she would submit the cancellation, but that it could take 2-3 business days to process. All of this was utterly obtuse and inconvenient. When getting home, I found that the website doesn't allow cancellation of an order online anyway. The final insult? When I returned home I received an email that my order was ready for pickup. So much wrong with this. Never again, Sportsman's. Long time customer who now will not spend another dime with you. The logistics were inefficient enough, but it was the we-don't-care attitude that was acute.
