I have been to Scheel's quite a few times. Each time I have been impressed and amazed by the staff. They are present, friendly, polite, welcoming and helpful. I've shopped for my husband, grandkids and myself and I have been happy with my purchases. I bought some great seasonings for myself, sports items for my grandkids, and lots of outdoor equipment for my husband. Everything has been used and enjoyed, and has held up well. The prices are comparable to other places. I absolutely think their seasonings are superior to grocery stores for outdoor cooking. read more

The store is great, but the dogs are out of control! Today, one gentleman had two huge dogs that were invading everyone's space. One dog slimed my hand when his owner raced up beside me on the stairs. I was there on Friday morning this time, hoping to avoid the crazy weekend crowd of people with their dogs. While it was not quite as overtaken, it was still too much. I just hope no child is ever hurt in the calamity of dogs there. Dogs are amazing, but they're unpredictable. I am not alone in my frustration, many dog loving people have complained. Come on, Scheels... your store is crowded enough without dogs and their inability to stay in their own lane. read more

It's like Bucees meets Bass Pro. Outdoor/Sporting goods plus food and light entertainment. In stock, they had lots of the stuff you'd expect. A bit more women's items than other outdoor stores, which I appreciated. We also got lunch from the cafe. The pizza was pretty good and I had the italiano sandwich, which was toasted so the cheese was nice and melty. Also tried the outdoorsman sandwich, which was served as a cold sandwich. Both were delicious. I got some beef jerky to bring home as a gift. They also had fudge and espresso drinks. I did have a slightly negative experience at check out where the cashier could have handled things better, but everything else went well. This place is over the top! It's gigantic and you could spend many hours in here browsing and exploring all the things. During this visit we shopped a little, checked out the fish, browsed the Lego section, and purchased some candy. All the staff were super friendly and a lot of them said hi when they were just walking by. Scheels is so cool. Bass pro shop on steroids. The coffee was surprisingly good - I think I got some sort of sweet cream cold brew. The nuts they sell in there also are nuts - very good. Fun place to walk around or take your kids to hang and shop and walk around. Love the little photo ops in there too. They have so many brands in there that you can't find typically which is cool. I love visiting this store when I'm in the area it's one of Idaho's coolest places in town. I finally tried the coffee and had the brown sugar oatmilk latte and it was one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had !! It was better than Starbucks or Dutch Bros for sure. The service was great and very friendly and welcoming. Value was great for the coffee amount and the pecans , almonds that they have there were also epic . Definitely worth visiting and I definitely recommend this place to visit . Love seeing the new items in the store and plus the big ferris wheel and aquarium. Sooo cool. Love it ! read more

Cool store. Very pricey if you're into that. 3/5 star because the bathrooms are wack. No paper towels so you have to dry your hands on germy air dryers and no toilet seat covers. Like they don't even have a spot where they'd put some. Nobody wants to kiss bum cheeks with a stranger :( read more

Wanting some fun indoor entertainment?! This is the place! We walked around for like 2 hours with our two little kids and had a really great time. This place is like a Dicks Sporting Goods and Bass Pro Shop put together! All of the employees had kind smiles on and said hello as we passed them. Our kids really enjoyed the Ferris wheel, kids play spot, shooting range game and the arcade. We didn't buy any merchandise on this trip, but all the prices were California prices. This place is huge, 330,000 square feet of space. No matter what your score is on my you will have everything you need here. They even have a ferris wheel inside the store. If that wasn't enough, they have a whole aquarium full of beautiful fish that you walk under. There is also a restaurant that has sandwiches and pizzas and all kinds of beef jerky. My wife was shopping for some new winter clothing and accidentally laid her phone down after moving to another department. Upon leaving the store she finally noticed the missing phone and went back to locate it. A big shout out goes to Women's Clothing Manager Kyllie S. who spent quite a bit of time with her trying to find her phone. Wow! This place is incredible! Scheels prides itself on being a "Sporting Goods" store, but it is so much more! The variety and selection for casual clothing and shoes is impressive with all major brands available in their own separate areas. This makes shopping easier when you know what brands you like instead of slogging through hundreds of racks. Their mens/womens/childrens and shoes departments have everything you are looking for. The store was neat and well laid out. If you are shopping with the whole family there are fun activities for the kids to keep them busy while you shop (Bowling, Ferris wheel, games)-and even a cafeteria style cafe for a quick lunch or snacks. As we were there after grand opening, the crowds were enormous, some even brought their family pets to shop! It did get overwhelming and we lost our group a few times. The service is excellent, even the cashiers were having fun. The only negative comment would be that the prices were high, with absolutely no sales. Did you know they have a small cafe/cafeteria in here? Well they do! They sell all types of fudges (give samples as well), beef jerky's (give samples), ice cream, coffee, food. Pizza, sandwiches and salads. We got a kids meal pizza...pizza was not the best tasting but it did its job for our little one. The meal is $5.99 and it comes with pizza, soda and ice cream scoop. My husband ordered an Outdoorsman 7/10 and I got the Scheels chicken sandwich with extra chipotle Mayo 10/10. All employees friendly and helpful. We will def be coming back again. read more

How can you NOT give 5 stars to this place?! Scheels is the place for just about anything sporting goods. Their shoe selection is better than any other store in the valley. Huge selection of fishing, hunting, and camping gear upstairs, plus some housewares and even beds. Just about every sport is represented here, from tennis to baseball. And their employees are excellent! They will run some of their shoes cheaper than their website at times. I have gotten both of my Nikes here (Air Max, and trail shoes). Both times they were far cheaper than the Nike Unite store in the Village. The Air Max was 25% off the Unite store. My Zegama 2's (ZoomX trail runners) were nearly 50% off the Nike store's full price. I didn't even pay $90. Win win! They will be on my feet for several Idaho hikes this summer, thanks Scheels :-) And for those who are looking for marathon shoes, they have them from several brands (Nike, Hoka, New Balance, Adidas). read more

Evan first approached me back in January when I was looking at the bikes, and I still regularly go back to talk with him. I've been dealing with an injury since last October that has kept me from being able to ride, and Evan and the guys have made me feel like family. Every time I've walked into this store I get smacked in the face with a wave of body odor. They need to improve in ventilation or deodorant mandates lol. Most impressive customer service -- ever! (And we're in our mid to late seventies so have amassed lots of experiences.) Beginning with phoning the store, we had immediate transfer to the department manager to make our inquiry. Carrie Jakel, home decor, consulted with her supervisor and answered us within minutes re: price reduction of an item to match Amazon. Scheels did lower the price. Carrie was not there when we arrived for pick up; however, her associate was expecting us and knew us by name -- before we even identified ourselves. Our purchase was carefully wrapped, taken to Customer Pick-Up, and there we were assisted by two more pleasant, professional, courteous employees. As good and comprehensive as this store is for most things I have needed for sports and clothing, I was really shocked how poorly they address the needs of the fitness swimmer in the gym. Two different employees could not point out any serious fitness trunks for lap swimming or and goggles for swimming that were anywhere in the neighborhood. Want to go the beach, then they have you covered. But for swimming workout gear, they are shockingly inadequate. read more
