I had two of the staff approach me aggressively asking if I need help, they thought I was stealing. as I went to buy my 130 dollar boots they asked to look through my bag which I let them. Judging from the reviews I'm not the only one with a horrible experience at Sportsman's warehouse, this is by far the worst sporting good store in Missoula employees and managers are lazy, poorly trained and disrespectful this is just the beginning of their problems. I even got the store and department managers involved and both where extremely rude and condescending. The store manager Andrew was more interested in defending his staff which did not do their job what so ever and just had so many excuse on why... well why they suck. He did nothing to fix the problem. Read the reviews, I most people have a similar experience here. This is basically one bad manger covering for another it was actually pretty funny to witness. If you like wasting your time and like being ignored when there are no other customer present at the counter then this is the store for you. Want to waste several hours getting a scope mounted by poorly trained employees then this is the store for you. Want to watch six employees have a conversation in front of you with out helping you then this is the store for you. Do I need to say more, go to a real MT sporting good store like Bobs or Shields and help get rid of this place. I would go without, long before I'd ever bother to shop with these fools again. No way! We ordered a single item on-line, they shipped the wrong item; then when we tried to return it, their return form (directly off of their website), was corrupted and wouldn't print; then when we called, their reps are were all mindless teenage z-geners, who sent us yet another copy of the same form that also wouldn't print; then they sent us an e-mail with a UPS tracking number, but the actual UPS return label wasn't included?@#%!? . . . make no mistake, these clowns are a freaking NIGHTmare! read more

We were just in there shopping. There were only 2 cashiers working and only one guy I could find on the floor. There were 8 people ahead of us and 15 people behind us in line to checkout. Both cashiers were doing licenses, so we all stood there for a long time. I hope they get this figured out. There should only be one person doing licensing if there are only 2 cashiers. read more

Went there to buy a gen 6 glock 20 and it took 15 minutes for a salesman to become available. When I was finally helped the salesman didn't even pretend to be interested in giving me any information. Helped is actually too strong of a word. He mindlessly looked at me across the counter and answered my questions with usually one word and a weak nod. When I was worthy of more than one word answers he was very condescending and acted as if my questions were annoying or unnecessary. I was very excited to buy this gun but the salesman did nothing to give me any information on it or any alternatives and is not worthy of the title of salesman. I went to axeman. read more

I am updating this review. I had to get a new set of knives for this elk season and went to Sportsmans, as I often go here before I'll go to another competitor. I found the set I wanted for $89. I purchased some other items but declined to purchase the knives, and now I know why. I immediately drove to Cabelas down the road and found the same set of knives for $49. Cabelas did not have them on sale. I obviously purchased the knives at this price point. It looks like sportsmans is becoming less competitive. I will be price shopping more closely in the future. I only dropped 1 star off because sportsmans still has an excellent selection and a great fishing section. read more

I love sportsman! I was sad when they closed in Billings. I always get top notch customer service from their employees. If I don't know, I ask. If they don't know they ask :) I feel confident in letting them help me with my outdoor needs. Added bonus is they are super close to my house. read more

Purchased a new rifle (Missoula, MT store) days prior to taking a long range shooting course. Outfitted it with a bi-pod a new scope. After the 3 hours of classroom time we went out to the range and got set up to shoot. The brand new firearm would not shoot. Had everyone including the instructor look at it and it appeared to be a firing pin issue (not alligning with the cartridge). Anyway, the rest of the range session wasnt very useful as I could not fire my new gun. Guy at Sportsmans' tells me it looks like it has been fired a bunch (by looking at the bolt action). I am out time and money for the course and have zero confidence in the rifle. Of course, they wont refund or issue store credit to get set up with a better brand and their not willing to do anything but send it back to Savage. Clearly, not confident with the gun and perhaps it has been fired a bunch before??? read more

My husband and I loved this store because Haley in the shoe department was so helpful. She pointed us to good quality shoes that were on clearance, and answered a variety of questions about outdoor gear and fishing locally. Sales clerks are way more interested in bs'ing with their friends than helping customers. Don't know how many times I have gone in and given up and then gone to Cabelas to buy what I want. They seem put out if you ask for help. I figure at this point SW has lost about $4000.00 in sales from me, just since Cabelas opened. I even brought it up to the department manager and he got after me, was rude and condescending. I had complained to the manager and he had the dept manager speak with me. He was more interested in defending his staff and covering his you know what, than fixing the problem. Read the employee reviews, think that pretty much says it all. Good old boys, favoritism, good employees working twice as hard to cover those who don't. Managers stick around forever and corporate never fires anyone. As a manager I know employees are only as good as their bosses. read more

We bought a boat cover in June for my brothers boat and received a card for $20.00 off a $100.00 purchase. Expires July 31st. I spent my time in the Missoula store picking out several things to make the $100.00. When I went to use the coupon they wouldn't take it because some of the items were on sale. No where on the coupon did it state that it did not apply towards sale items only could not use another coupon with it. Needless to say I was not very happy. I will not shop there again. read more
