I visit the gun range regularly and own plenty firearms, i am introducing my fiance to firearms, we decided to order her a CZ online and pick it up from SW. The experience was horrible! Keep in mind my fiance doesn't know much about the mechanics of the firearm, this is why we picked this pistol to get her started. This clerk starts asking her to rack the slide, drop the magazine, what type of bullet does the pistol use, how many rounds does it hold, who makes the firearm? She answers most of his questions and handled the firearm responsibility but he told her it was a "red flag" because she didnt know all the questions he asked and he personally thinks she is buying the gun for me!! Then tells her this isn't a "starter pistol"!! I ask what is a starter pistol? And ask for a manager, he states he is the manger! Then a lady i have worked with before says she is the manager!! I have helped all my daughters and other friends and family buy firearms and get trained. This experience ruined my fiance experience buying her first firearm. Went to buy 12 ga and 20 ga target shells to shoot Clay. We have an automated launcher We actually bought at this store. They would only let me purchase 5 boxes of the shells. They are for target shooting $ 8-9 dollars a box. They are not for hunting. We have large group for Christmas and wanted to shoot Skeet. The young man at register was very rude and laughing at me the whole time I tried to explain it was just for target and skeet. It's the 2nd time they have been extremely rude to me at this location. I understand if it's Ammo truly because of the lack of Ammo now to limit to 5 boxes. The shelves were lined with these cheap target shells tons of boxes for clay shooting. If he had to say no and put back my shells he could have been polite and respectful to me. read more

If you love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, or just cool stuff, you're going to love Sportsman's Warehouse. This store is like a half sized version of Cabella's or Bass Pro. It doesn't have all the flim flam stuff like those places, but it does have an excellent selection of items. In order to help you determine of you should visit, I'll break down a few of their key selections: Clothes - camouflage everything. Seriously, if you can wear it, they have it in camo. They even had a ghillie suit for sale. Hell yes. They also had a very nice selection of outdoor boots and shoes. Knives - There was a display of the reasonably priced knives and a display case with the more expensive ones. I didn't get to check out the case, but I did pick up a sweet knife sharpener. My ZT will be razor sharp in no time. Guns - Meh. Don't get me wrong, there were an enormous amount of guns. It was the prices that turned me off. I guess the prices are on par with other shops, but if I'm buying a gun, im getting it cheaper than they sell it. Safes - Lots of display safes and about half hadn't been locked so I could view the insides. Maps - That's right. It's 2016 and some people still use a road atlas. They had plenty of LA and several other states. They also had compasses including lensatic varieties. Food - They had the freeze dried backpacking stuff, but they also had a ton of beef jerky. Besides the typical big name brands, they had other varieties too. I picked up a back of the sweet heat and it was gone by the time I great home. Fishing - everything except big boats. They did have kayaks. Ice chests - Overpriced ice chests from Yeti and others? Check. This store pretty much has it all. I enjoyed my first visit and will be back soon. read more

Do Not Do Business With Sportsmans Warehouse! On January 3, 2024, I ordered a SAR-USA B6 .9mm handgun. Two days later I looked at my bank account and saw they double charged me. A few days later my local FFL dealer called me to let me know my shipment arrived and when I went to pick it up discovered Sportsmans Warehouse sent me 2 of the exact same guns when I only ordered one. For 3 months they denied this even after I sent them screenshots of my account and only after I threatened to contact the ATF did they admit they double charged me and sent 2 guns instead of one. Then they said they do not accept returns on firearms and there isn't anything they will do. read more

I been trying to get on line to view some items for purchase, could not log into the Slidell store been four days now. Called the Slidell store and they said the Corporate office in Utah did it they have no idea. Corporate office said they pulled Slidell store off the internet because they have stock in trucks not updated, they behind on their work! I live in the Country it's a hour ride to go browse for something they may are may are may not have! O-well theirs Dick's and Sports Academy to shop at their up and running.... It seemed both calls were useless because no one bothered to ask what I needed and check stock for the purchase. Hope Mangment team reads this before they run themselves out of business. Never buy a gun from Any big Box store. They have absolutely no service after the sale. If you get delayed you probably won't get your gun. If you buy a gun and it does not shoot you're on your own. And they don't tell you this before you buy the gun. read more

Horrible staff. Decent selection prior to Covid. I Call in to the gun section for the young lady to ask to to sit on hold, sit on hold for 6 minutes to get hung up on. Try to call back 3 times no answer. I visited in store for the same lady behind the desk to act like she was busy while I stood there to not be helped for over 10 minutes. Decided to leave and spend the 2 grand I came with somewhere else. Also when I called about the gun she seemed very unknowledgeable. Young lady larger set, dark hair behind the counter in gun section, do better. Maybe not the job for you. read more

Terrible customer service. Forget calling because you will get zero help. The people working here are rude and have little to no knowledge on the products. I have had multiple bad experiences with this place and most recently called with a quick question and got asked to call back in half and hour because they were too busy to take calls. She literally said we have 4 people waiting and only two people to work with them.....crazy this place should close down. read more

The store has a lot of variety and many products to choose from in each department. I do find Sportsman Warehouse to be on the expensive side and not very price competitive. I've been to the store in Slidell and there are very few customers shopping. I was looking at a specific firearm and found the local competitor to be $30 cheaper. Needless to say, Sportsman lost a sale and I saved extra money. I would only make a purchase from this store if I was in a hurry or couldn't find it anywhere else. read more

New store so I decided to give it a shot. Bought new rod and reel separately for future use. Didn't use right away. First trip out, anti reverse is defective on reel. Not an obvious defect until the reel was put in use i.e. you have a fish hooked. Store says sorry Charlie, you waited more than thirty days to find defect. Now you get to pay to ship the item to Canada and pay in advance for return postage as well. Store provided zero help. First and last purchase there. read more
