I've been shopping with Sportsman's for year, & appreciate having them in our neighborhood! I've been in these stores, all over Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska, & have always been given outstanding service. It breaks my heart to see the selection of items dwindling down to next to nothing. I used to go into my store (84th) and could look around for an hour and find something new every time.The pricing has always been competitive, sometimes downright cheap. 200 reviews for a store that's been open for 10 plus years, says to me that the only time anyone gives a review is when they have a complaint. I'd bet I've been in my store 200 plus times. Support local businesses, these companies employ your neighbors. My only complaint is that this is a corporation, & the policies are handed down from a board that probably wouldn't know the correct end to hold of a fishing pole, or firearm for that matter. P.S. The last time I was in they had a sale on sleeping bags 25% off, one of the staff was right there to answer our questions , & couldn't have been more helpful. My kids (16m & 11m) cruised into this location yesterday (7/22/25) to find a perfect birthday gift for me, their mom. When they couldn't agree on anything, they decided to settle on a gift card. At checkout, my older son was debating how much to put on the card. Instead of assisting, perhaps asking who the gift card was for, or even suggesting that most coffee mugs are x dollars, the sales clerk said, "it sounds like you need to make a fucking decision," TO. I only have one complaint, and it's about John who works in the gun department. I have dealt with him on two different occasions and both times have been dreadful. He makes it seem like helping me is inconvenient for him. He's rude and not helpful. If you ask a question, you get a poor response. I'd have better luck talking to a wall. read more

Went to look at some firearms today was met with the most rude and short answers. Basically ignored until I asked a question. then proceeded to say what I was looking for was illegal until I showed him that you guys did carry the firearm I wanted. (The youngest guy at the firearm section) that helped me today (march 14 2026 )also got some dirty looks from the older gentleman at the knife section even though we didn't interact but I took my business elsewhere due to the lack of respect I would shop elsewhere for any firearm needs these guys are not it. read more

I want to begin by saying that this review is not intended to reflect negatively on the entire store or its management. The manager, Albert, was very respectful, professional, and understanding when handling my concern. He took the time to listen and made every effort to address the situation appropriately, and I truly appreciate that. However, my experience with an associate in the firearms department named John was very disappointing. While he was assisting me, I politely asked if I could take a picture of the barcode on a firearm, not the firearm itself, so I could reference it later. John told me that doing so was illegal and went on to say that I was under suspicion of trying to buy a firearm to give to someone else. As a law-abiding customer who was simply trying to make a legitimate purchase, I found his comments unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely unwarranted. The assumption he made felt personally offensive, and I could not help but feel that his remarks may have been influenced by my race. Because of that experience, I chose not to move forward with my purchase that day. I hope this review encourages the store to provide additional training for staff on professionalism, communication, and bias awareness. I'm unsure the cashiers name but she is an older lady who wears glasses.. From the start of our interaction she was extremely "thrilled" with her job and didn't even ask questions. We asked her if the store price matched other competitors like cabelas and it was immediate grief. She asked if they were on sale and we told her no, but any store even the company ONLINE had this vest marked down lower. She didn't try to match the price, and had nothing but attitude the entire time. She was far from welcoming or kind. This store has gone way down hill and we will gladly take our business to Scheels or cabelas going forward. Such a bummer. read more

This place is the worst... they returned my shotgun I ordered during cyber Monday, because I didn't pick it up after a background check within a week. I was told on the phone that Sportsman's warehouse is not a layaway service. Even tho the item was fully paid for when purchased. No one every told my their stipulations on pickups, no notification, no rules on the receipt, no nothing. They refunded my money and sold the shotgun at full price. I could tell they didn't want to honor the cyber Monday deal from the get go. This item was fully paid for and so was the background check, so basically I lost out on 250$ by the time they wouldn't honor the cyber Monday discount and pocketed my money for the background check. I ordered a bow that said it was in stock the time of ordering. I get an email over a week later saying "sorry we canceled your order due to insinsufficient stock here's a coupon for something % off AFTER you spend $50. I reached out trying to get them to work with me and comp me a similar bow at the same price I paid for the one I ordered, but they completely ignored my request and gave me some generic robo typed answer of my order details(which i already was aware of). The coupon as far as I'm concerned isn't worth using as toilet paper even....but wait there's more!!!! I then ordered another bow, that cost over $100 more than the original bow i ordered (I know stupid me) and just the same as the first one I ordered it said it was "in stock to ship to store and pickup". Estimated pickup date was supposed to be today...however when I check the status of my order it still says "pending shipment" I suspect sportsmans screwed up again and again sold something they don't even have...and to put the cherry on top... if you go to their website at this very moment you can still purchase said bow and it shows as "in stock to ship to store". What a joke this company has become, after this order whether I get the bow or not, I'm done with these clowns and I will also spread the word to any and every other sportsman, hunter, fisher, hiker, etc. To never buy anything from this company who likes to sell things they don't have, but then also just leaves the customer hanging for days or weeks "hoping to find a magical stash of said out of stock items.... my circle in the outdoor community is rather large so you not only lost one customer but potentially hundreds after I tell my circle, they tell their circle and so on and so on...so go ahead and Pat yourselves on the back. Update: the second bow i ordered did show up at the store for pickup...however...all is not well. Before I signed for it I knew I needed to inspect it. So I opened the box took it out and what do I find...a 60lb draw weight bow(i ordered 70lb). The sportsmans warehouse tag said 70lb right hand etc...however when looking at the actual sticker on the bow from the manufacturer it indeed read "Draw weight: 60". So as if this whole ordeal hasn't already been a hassle enough. The employee told me "go check with hunting to see if they have a 70lb model and we can do an exchange". I tried to explain to him said bow was a clearance item and i knew for a fact their store did not have one otherwise i would have just went to the store and bought it thats pretty obvious... so i walked back there just to "comply" quietly browsed the bows thinking "maybe i can exchange it for a different model or whatever...and all they had were in my opinion junk trash begginners bows and even at that very few of them. So i walked back up front with no other option than to return said bow for a refund, and place another order online for the same bow to have it shipped to the store again. All I can say is I sure hope it's the right bow this time and regardless of whether it is or isn't i won't ever spend another dime at sportsmans warehouse. They better hope it's right too otherwise they will lose more money in sales as I will return said bow again and this time I'll return the hundreds of dollars in accessories I purchased in order to outfit the bow. read more

Outstanding customer service today! My wife and I went in to look at personal defense weapons today. The store was extremely busy due to the holiday. Even though busy the staff had great positive attitudes and were extremely helpful. Buying a firearm is always extremely complicated but the customer service team made the process extremely simple and well organized. We had extra time on our hands while waiting for my federal background check and the staff took time to find the correct ammunition for my new firearm while waiting. The checkout staff was just as friendly and hard working. They asked if I was military so I received my military discount as well as my Sportsman Warehouse rewards points. Fay and Cathy were great to work with. I will definitely be using this Sportsman Warehouse for my future outdoor purchases! read more

I can order sale guns off their website even when they don't have them there and they let me know when to pick them up usually within a week or two. I had a problem with the finish on one of my guns but I had the firearm service plan and they took care of it all. The rest of the store always has tons of stuff I want. I placed an order online and received notice that it was cancelled. I was directed to contact customer service, which I did. The agent couldn't tell me whether the order would be processed and if the item would be delivered. He didn't know why the order was cancelled, whether my card would be charged, or what I could do to correct this. He advised that the verification team would reach out in two days. I was supposed to receive my shipment in two days. I have an upcoming trip and was expecting this item ahead of that, so a minimum two day delay puts me in a real bind. I don't know if I should find this item elsewhere or not, because I have no idea whether or not this order will ultimately be processed. A two day delay to even know whether or not I'm going to be charged for and/or receive an order is ridiculous. Just terrible customer service. Believe the reviews online and go elsewhere! UPDATE: Per Jeremy's request, I reached out to customer service via email. I also responded to Jeremy, indicating that I had sent the message. No reply. I included a screengrab of this interaction in my email. I got a notice that the email would be reviewed in 24-48 hours. Not great. My original order would have been delivered today. So now, I've waited 48 hours to hear from Jeremy and am now waiting 48 more hours to hear from customer service. Obviously his response on Yelp is a face-saving tactic to make it seem as though their customer service is responsive. Trust me, Jeremy's outreach was not a genuine effort to resolve the issue. Later in the day, the verification team finally replied (48 hours after the original issue), indicating that they had removed the verification issue and cancelled the order. They advised that I should reorder my items. I asked for complementary expedited shipping or some additional bonus. I heard nothing back. Just abysmal customer service. Ridiculous delays. I went to purchase ammunition and look at some firearms at the Soldotna, AK store. I won't say that I couldn't get the attention of staff at the gun counter, I will say that I was REFUSED attention at the gun counter. Now, I admit that I was just off the range and probably smelled mildly of mosquito repellent, but this was beyond the pale. They had three employees available and not one even acknowledged my presence. Which I thought interesting because generally I'm instantly recognized because of my former patronage there. I have always had a great experience shopping at this location in the past years. Until last night, I needed to purchase a hunting rifle for my upcoming season. After my background check was cleared and completed, I went to complete my transaction. My boyfriend was paying for it as a gift. But little did I know its against the rules for someone else to buy you a firearm. I understood and left to go get my personal cash. When I returned at 8 o'clock at night. The manager Matt was cussing and yelling because no-one was answering the phone with children and many other customers around. After making me wait for 10 minutes, he told me that ATF personally called and told him he couldn't complete the sale. His body language and lack of eye contact proved he was lying and abusing his power. How can you have someone so hostile working with firearms but deny me of my clearly LEGAL sale?? He told me I could come back another day and complete my purchase. I called in at 9am the very next morning and asked if I would need another back ground check or what the process would be. The woman who answered named Holly immediately said I would never be eligible to purchase a fire arm again from sportsman's because someone was trying to pay for my purchase as a gift. I asked to speak to a manager to discuss this matter and report the hostile behavior of his employees. He was very kind and understood my frustrations, however he gave me no options and told me I was out of luck because of this situation. I was treated like a criminal and this establishment infringed on my rights to purchase a fire arm because they did not want to give me any options. We were willing to cooperate or provide an additional background check for my boyfriend to prove we both are eligible to purchase firearms and it wasn't a "Straw Sale" to avoid this situation. Instead I am told I can NEVER buy a firearm at any of their locations ever again. I understand the rules and the urgency to follow policies. However, this reaction to my ignorance for firearms transactions was VERY EXTREME. Very nice store to say the least. The layout of this place is great since we you can find products easily. Clothing and shoes for all outdoor activities. Fishing items, canoes, paddles, guns and ammo, camping gear, etc. I can easily say I did find some great sleeping bags. My guy is 6'9" so trying to find a sleeping bag long enough for him has been difficult. I did find one for him and one for me. There was even a double size sleeping bag. LOTS of choices. Yes, we will be back. My other half had his interests in many of the outdoor activities rekindled tonight, so it's a sure thing. read more

Sportsman's warehouse absolutely lost all of my business this morning. I purchased a firearm on April 5, 2023. On April 11, 2023 my local PD processed my proceed for the firearm. The manager Brenden neglected to do his job and update my paperwork until I called and pressed the issue on may 1st 2023. They call me back and tell me everything it processed and I can come pick up my firearm. After driving an hour and a half from port Angeles I'm informed because the firearm has a threaded barrel they have to refund me and can not sell me the firearm. Had Brenden done his job and updated my paperwork in a timely fashion, the ban which passed two weeks after I had a proceed for my firearm would not have effected me and I would have wasted hours of my time at this store. Very disappointed and will never spend my money at this store again. 5-17-23 Update: I reached out to the email that the owner asked me to in response to my review over the weekend. The email said they would be in touch in 24-48 hours. Almost 72 hours later I have no response from anyone in customer service, management, or the owner. Update 5-28-2023: customer service has responded to my email once on 5-19-2023 offering me a extremely small discount on my next purchase. I told them that was not good enough since they violated my rights by their mere negligence. They have not responded back two either of my two emails I followed up on with them. It appears sportsman's warehouse supports abolishing our second amendment right. They lost a customer forever. Went to Eastgate OH) location Tuesday 9-20-23. No one working in fishing department, he was off that day. No other staff member cross trained in fishing. Both the cashier and manager were rude, lacked any customer service skills and projected a "we don't care attitude". That no manager local or regional had conducted training to insure all departments were functionable at a minimum level every hour the store is open is unbelievable. Several staff should get fired, including the two I engaged with. Went to Bass Pro (a 45 minute drive) and received excellent service and I purchased an entire new rig, vs. the reel I was going to by at Sportsman's Warehouse. What a cluster! Shop anywhere else but Sportsman's on Marks St. The crew there are worthless. Monday AM I went online to confirm they had a gun in stock. Went to the store and waited for 45 minutes while the zombies at the counter got around to me. Joe claimed the gun had been sold and if its not hanging they don't have it. I left dissapointed. About 6 pm I went on line and saw they still had it in stock so I called. "Jim" verified they had 3 in the backroom. Apparently "Joe" didn't look! (Easily seen stock n the computer). Jim handled me in an efficient and professional manner. Round two: I had a shotgun arriving on Tuesday so I went in at 6PM. By 8pm I finally got waited on. Once again the "zombie" crew. I watched no less than 5 customers walk out with nothing. The girl that helped me rung up my purchase even though I had set this up online and she was going to charge me $70.00 more than my online price. The department manager fixed the problem. Their policy is not to sell guns after 8 pm so I watched another gentleman leave after waiting for 2 hours. By 8:30 or 2 1/2 hours later I leave with my purchase. This is the final and last business I will conduct with this crap organization. I can go anywhere else without this kind of crap! And after 45 day of purchase and this was a Christmas present so it has only been used for 30 day and it started to fall apart.
