Spot Hotel is a very meek hotel that is right outside of the metro station downtown Porto. The hotel upon first arrival is very clean and the staff is professional, There are nice amenities in the hotel,a 5th floor lounge area, very economical layouts in the room set up helps this group monopolize on space and organization, Anyone would be happy to stay here. The city of Porto has a very rich history in culture and land function. Historic references to the city go back to the 4th century BC and to Roman times, although Celtic and Proto-Celtic remnants of ancient Citadels were found in the heart of where Porto now lies. In the Roman period the city developed its importance as a commercial port, primarily in the trade between Olissipona (Lisbon) and Bracara Augusta (nowadays Braga), but would fall under the Moorish Muslim invasion of the Iberian Peninsula in 711. The Moors were very prominent in this area and ruled the land with respect and authority, but after centuries were defeated a Christian warlord from Gallaecia. There is a ton of history that is available to read and study. Outside of the history the hotel is very secure and centrally located. We are here for 3 days with a list of things to do, some include the wine tasting on Tuesday, the highlight of the show. On my first impression this place is somewhere that I would stay again. read more
