Millvale's new "hidden gem" is the latest in made from scratch Italian cooking. Sprezzatura has been and still is a Mediterrean catering business. They now have expanded by opening a cafe in the Millvale food and energy hub. During my visit I got an opportunity to meet with the owner Jen S. who explained the concept to me. Most of their food options are locally sourced and made sustainably from the heart. The kitchen is shared with 412 Rescue which has a culinary program there. They are also planning to host various events in the coming year. Leaflets are on the table if you want to know more. The is the 6th day since the cafe has opened to the public and it is becoming quite popular. The menu is small but portion sizes are huge and prices very reasonable. I did inquire about gluten free and vegan options. You get can gluten free in the sides and desserts and a couple of the salads are vegan. When you enter, you order off the chalkboard and yes, they will accommodate you if you have a smaller appetite as was my case. I decided to go with the butternut squash soup and a small size spaghetti and meatballs. You are given a number and can sit anywhere. Beverages are limited to pop, hot tea, and coffee. Water bottles are available to take to your table. Both cash and cards are accepted. Place is also BYOB. I took a seat and waited for my lunch. The soup was served piping hot and you could taste the homemade richness of the squash. I really enjoyed it. Then I got my small size spaghetti and meatballs along with a piece of bread. The spaghetti was cooked just right and you can really taste the homemade sauce and well prepared meatballs that went into making this entree so enjoyable. They have a separate area to dispose of your used items. Take out is also available. Since Jen had told me their biscotti was made from scratch I decided to try one of them for dessert. It was a descent size and believe me it did not disappoint. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful in making me feel right at home. The cafe itself has that homey feel to it when you look around. This place is the real deal when it comes to Italian cooking. The business name loosely translated means "looking calm while obsessing over details." I definitely enjoyed dining here and can't wait to return to try out their other offerings. Menu is expected to change seasonally. Currently they are serving lunch and dinner from Wed-Sat only. They still do catering and you can obtain a catering leaflet where you order. Located in Millvale's former Moose lodge building on E Sherman St. metered street parking is available.

We had this food at a catered event and were impressed! As someone with a Dietitian background I thought the food was particularly healthful and nutritionally balanced with the perfect amount of olive oil added for flavor. The Apple Cider was warm and comforting and hit the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. I loved the appetizers they give you which include platters of 2 flavors of toasted baguettes, Artichoke Hearts, Grape-leaves, Olives, Soft Cheeses mixed with dried fruits and pomegranate, and various other wholesome health foods. I also loved the way they cooked the Brussels Sprouts and Potatoes and felt they went wonderfully together and had a nice soft texture and kept the naturally delicate flavors of those vegetables without any bitterness. I loved that they had a bean salad with chickpeas and kidney beans as this was a nice protein option that was vegan and most Americans need to include more legumes like these into their daily diet. Like the other foods the oil that was added was the perfect amount to add. The cookie platter also not only had different cookies but different KINDs of cookies which helps provide a more interesting experience.

Food is very good. The items prepared are very close to italian country cooking. It's not high cuisine, but from-scratch cuisine.

I'm not sure if this is a corporate policy, but with this being flu season, I would think a they would take every and any step to keep not only their entire staff but their customers safe from being exposed. I have been a corporate manager in the same industry in the past and this type of management enrages me. I have also heard that are told if they are having mental or hormonal issues they should deal with them on their day off. Im not sure corporately who manages the managers but they really need to do a better job at appreciating their employees and customers and the city that has made them a possibility.

Robin at Big Catering helped me select menu items, understand quantities and prices, and confirm all details. I asked for the food to be delivered and set up (we did not need servers during the reception). The delivery arrived exactly on time, and setup was perfect. The guests enjoyed the sight and aroma of the beautiful buffet. The delicious selections encouraged people to sit and chat, and then wander back to the buffet for another helping. We received many compliments about the wonderful food. Everything was packaged sturdily. Our family was able to take very tasty leftovers home and enjoy them. I highly recommend Big Burrito for catering, and Alta Via for menu selections.

Well, they had very cute tea cups and tea pots but the tea pots were just filled either hot water either the idea being you could choose which tea bag, yes tea bag, you wanted to have in your cup. For $35 a person, we got a ton of food with delicious Tea Forté tea and a lovely set up with the cutest cups, plates, and teapots. They do high tea on the second Sunday of each month. Calling and making a reservation was super easy and they worked carefully to cater to any allergies or food preferences our party of 10 had (they switch up the menu each month!). They took my credit card information down ahead of time on the phone so all I had to do was sign the check at the end of high tea. There's also a large designated parking lot for patrons on an adjacent block. They took the time to show us their outdoor space and I can't wait to come back and check it out when it's warmer!

We didn't, but somehow got lucky snagging seats at the bar... which honestly turned out to be a perfect spot to eat too! The beet salad was SO good I could've easily ordered a second without hesitation. I had a self-proclaimed Reuben connoisseur with me, and he declared it the best Reuben he's ever had (second only to his own, of course ). It's not your typical version either--no standard Thousand Island overload. The corned beef was perfectly peppered and packed with flavor, and even the bread stood out. Fish tacos? Absolutely a yes. Fresh, flavorful, and just done right. We split sides--tater tots for one dish and the homemade chips for the other. Always go for the homemade chips here. WOW! They had this subtle sweetness that made them seriously addictive. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and food that lives up to the hype. Totally worth it! We arrived around 4:30pm, we had to park on the street, but there were several spots available. The restaurant is small with a casual interior. We were greeted and seated immediately. The food was good with hearty portions, but our waitress rushed us the entire time. We said we needed a few minutes, because this was our first time here, so she stood there and just... waited. She didn't offer to make any suggestions or ask whether we had any questions, she was just standing inches from the table looking at us. Finally I had to say, "oh, you don't have to wait right here, it'll be at least 5 minutes." Then she left. We ordered an appetizer, two entrees, two non-alcoholic drinks, and two desserts. She never asked whether we wanted dessert, and reached to present the bill while asking if we needed any takeout boxes. I had to interject and ask if we could see a menu for dessert options. The check was placed on our table before dessert arrived, which has never happened to us before at any restaurant we've ever been to. Then, when the desserts were brought to the table, she grabbed the bill presenter and said, "are we good?" I replied, "no, I'll pay when we're done eating." It was odd because we went very early and there were only a few other tables occupied so, I had no idea why we were being rushed the entire time. They also brought my daughter's entree with the wrong side, but they fixed it right away with no fuss. I left a generous tip and didn't report our experience. She was never outright rude to us, but rushing guests at every interaction is uncomfortable and made us feel unwelcome. Overall, this place is good, but if I ever go back, I would insist on a different waitress.
