    Ribs

Came here on a Sunday after landing in Dallas and checking into my hotel. My colleagues and I hustled over to get there before they closed. There was a little bit of everything left so we ordered the choice platter. The MacNCheese was lightly cheesey, which I prefer. I don't like when the MacNCheese is slopped with cheese and over cooked noodles. This one was not that and very good! The coleslaw rocked and not too saucey. The BBQ was a bit plane. We tried the ribs and while tender, they had a ketchup taste and were pretty plain. Brisket was okay but plain too. The bread basket women was very nice and came to our table four times. We also didn't know t he closed at 9 and only noticed at 9:15. It was very kind of them not to rush us out. The BBQ theme was fun but a bit on the nose. I wish the food was better because the team was really nice.

    Brisket

Food was crusty, musty and dusty. Brisket was dry and flavorless. Ribs were super dry, traded them out for new and new ones tasted weird. Maybe they gave me the saint Louis ribs instead. That's not what I ordered. The corn tasted not cooked all the way. Just a waste of money. The only thing I ate was my chicken. Service was ok, didnt interact too much. The tables and seats were greasy. Won't be going back to this location.

The employees are very friendly and courteous Pricing is fair compared to the competition Food selection is decent, could be better -there are many items that I would like them to have, like sausage, hotlinks, roast chicken, ect. especially hotlinks.. no one has them The selection that they do serve tastes good, not awesome, but good. - exception, the beans and BBQ mix mentioned previously.. awesome! Lots of parking space Very clean and comfortable place I didn't see any outdoor places to eat, but indoor is good TLDR; I enjoyed it, 4-star, pretty good place to eat

We were greeted by Marcell and he walked us through picking out our meats and sides. He was so kind with amazing energy!! We picked ribs, sausage, a chicken popper and a few slices of turkey. Everything was great but the ribs were tops!! For sides, we got corn on the cob, beans, fruit salad, potato salad, coleslaw and the best mac n' cheese my daughter says she has ever had!! Our tummies were so full of deliciousness that we took our apple cobbler and Oreo mud pie (or two!!) to go. Tina checked on us at our table, cleared my tray and even brought us some toothpicks and plasticware for our to go desserts. If we are in the area again, we will eat at Hard Eight!!

The menu was on a large video display. There were lots to choose from and the prices looked very reasonable. I ordered the "Moo-Oink-En-platter. It included all of the meats on the menu, two sides and Texas toast. I chose the potato salad and red beans. I had the banana pudding for desert. My wife chose the "Kids plate, chop beef sandwich with Red beans for her side. She had the peach cobbler for desert and said it was all good. Goldee's Barbecue has become one of the most talked-about barbecue destinations in Texas, and the…read moreexperience starts long before we reached the counter. We arrived early and found ourselves in a line that stretched well before opening, creating a sense that we were visiting a barbecue pilgrimage rather than a casual lunch spot. The atmosphere remained friendly and laid-back despite the crowds, with a team that seemed genuinely proud of what they were serving. The line moved steadily, and the anticipation built as we got closer to the counter. The barbecue was the main attraction, and the brisket consistently stood out as the signature item. We ordered a generous portion and found the meat smoky, tender, and flavorful enough that we barely touched the sauce. The beef rib was another highlight, with rich flavor and an impressive size that made it feel like a meal on its own. Beyond the traditional Texas staples, Goldee's also offers items that help it stand apart from other barbecue spots, including pork belly, house-made sausages, Carolina hash over rice, and rotating specialty meats. We tried a few of these and found each one delivered on quality, with the pork belly offering a rich, fatty contrast to the leaner brisket. The fresh bread and banana pudding were frequently mentioned as worthy additions rather than afterthoughts, and we made sure to save room for the pudding, which was creamy and balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. One of the most impressive aspects of Goldee's is the consistency across the entire menu. While many barbecue restaurants are known for one standout meat, we left talking about multiple dishes, from the brisket and ribs to the sausages and sides. The banana pudding had developed a following of its own, and we considered it a mandatory finish to the meal. The sides, including the coleslaw and potato salad, were well executed and provided a fresh contrast to the rich meats. Service remained efficient despite the volume of customers that passed through each day. The staff kept the line moving, answered questions enthusiastically, and helped create an experience that felt welcoming rather than rushed. Even after waiting several hours, we left feeling that the food justified the time investment. The team's pride in their work was evident, and they handled the steady stream of visitors without losing the friendly, approachable energy of a neighborhood spot. Goldee's Barbecue delivered the kind of destination-worthy barbecue experience that people travel across states to try. The combination of exceptional brisket, standout specialty items, strong sides, and passionate service has earned it a reputation as one of the premier barbecue spots in Texas. The wait was substantial, but the meal ended up being one of the highlights of our trip, a reminder that the best barbecue is often worth the effort it takes to get it.

I got here at 9am (2 hours before opening) and the line was already snaked around. The time flew by. From start to finish was about 3 hours. 2 hours waiting before opening and about an hour once they opened. Food review: Brisket- top tier. Pull apart, great smoke ring and delicious. Turkey- 9/10- should be on everyone's list to get when they are here. Jalapeno&Cheddar Sausage- 8/10. Delicious but not as juicy as Hutchins Lao Sausage- 6/10. Decent but not something I would get again. Not sure if they do this all the time or if it was a special. Sides Mac &Cheese- if you like creamy mac&cheese, get the large! 10/10 Beans- good and would order again but I would probably only get the small Dessert- banana pudding 7/10. Good flavor.
