Roscoe's BBQ is AWESOME whether it's pulled pork, beef brisket, chicken, or sausage. Their sauce is unique and would love to have the recipe. They have multiple sides that you can choose from and they also have peach cobbler and banana pudding that is completely mouthwatering. I've always had excellent service whether it is for a pick up order or if I'm dining in or even sitting at the bar for a drink. This was our first visit but the negative reviews almost kept me away but glad they didn't. The restaurant was clean and not busy at all which was a little surprising for a Saturday at 7:30 pm. The menu was on a large video display. There were lots to choose from and the prices looked very reasonable. I ordered the "Moo-Oink-En-platter. It included all of the meats on the menu, two sides and Texas toast. I chose the potato salad and red beans. I had the banana pudding for desert. My wife chose the "Kids plate, chop beef sandwich with Red beans for her side. She had the peach cobbler for desert and said it was all good. Nothing special about it. Overall just good. The okra was well done which is exactly how I like it and the mac and cheese was on point so I would give those 9/10. I was looking forward to trying another BBQ joint in the Burleson area just outside of my regular Fort Worth stops. Well, I'm disappointed in it. The chopped brisket burger was super delicious and that's without its amazing BBQ sauce. The fries were really good and reminded me of wingstop's fries. The BBQ sauce was nice and tangy with a bit of a kick to it. The sauce really reminded me of Good Luck's sauce. The mashed potatoes were alright but the corn and bbq beans weren't anything special. The corn tastes straight from the can and had little to no taste. Beans were more like a cheap brand of chili. I can't speak of the ambience or service since I ordered take out. I went in during lunchtime during the week, and they do offer different daily lunch specials, I went on a Monday and the special for that day was a bbq sandwich and two veggies ( I choose the mashed potatoes and corn) and the chopped beef sandwich. So, they did provide enough meat for the sandwich, and sauce on the side (which is good since I wasn't a big fan of the sauce) and the sandwich is very run of the mill. The veggie container seems small at first, but was plenty in the end... and had a pretty good flavor. A very average bbq restaurant, but check the special of the day. Wanting something fast and easy to eat in burleson, we had pulled into the lot planning to visit a neighboring restaurant when we saw Roscoe's and decided to give it a try. Chit chatting with some folks walking out, they said it was great food and go big so we went with the option that has all five meat options with sides. Finally! A delicious and fresh tasting bbq with delicious sides! I got a 2 meat plate with ribs and regular sausage and they were delicious. Ribs were tender and had amazing smoky flavor. The sausage was delicious as well and temperature on both were perfect. I got a side a fries and they are fresh cut decent size fries seasoned to perfection. My friend got a burger with mac and green beans and let me tell you....someones grandma had to been cooking those green beans because they had some flavor I've never tasted before. One of the best bbq ribs I've ever had. The parking is a little small, when we got there. I was amazed a lot of the customers drove in their big trucks. The food is great and for us to was about $30. They have a full service bar and patio seating. Ok, I have to admit, this was not where I intended to go today. As we were driving, I said, "ok, if we make the light, we go down the road and continue our shopping today, if not, we go straight and eat at Roscoe's over there." The next thing I know we are both biting into complimentary ribs! How cool is that? Between us, we got the BBQ Baked Potato and the "Moo-oink-en" plate and an order of the sweet potato fries. Ok, let me say BBQ is totally subjective and opinions, like a certain body orifice, everybody has one. I have to admit, they had me with the free rib. Here's the thing though, It was REALLY good. I've had a lot of BBQ. Admittedly, not all of it, but a lot, and this was a pleasant surprise. I had the big combo plate, so let me break it down for ya. Keep in mind, these are all unsauced opinions. Sausage - Pretty good, nothing to write home about, but adequate. Brisket - This was really good. Not to fatty, not too lean, definitely moist and tasty. Pulled Pork - Moist, very good, but it couldn't stand alone in my opinion and needed sauce. Ribs - I can't say this lightly, but these are probably in the top three ribs I've ever had. Meaty, smoky and not dry. I'm getting light headed just thinking about it. Chicken - Ok, I never order the chicken with one exception. Angelo's BBQ in Ft Worth makes great chicken and I order that whenever I go. Here, I just figured it would be an afterthought. Here's the thing, this chicken was on par with Angelo's. There I've said it. I would order a whole plate of this and greedily smack up every bit of it! In my BBQ opinion, I wold have to say the chicken and ribs would stand up to Angelo's standards. This was freaking amazing. Here's the thing, Maybe this was a one off? I don't know. I request a specific slice of brisket (little more fat than the average joe orders, better flavor IMO) and with no hesitation cut a sample and let me try it to make sure that was what I wanted. The Mac and cheese and green beans were recommended, and while they didn't blow me away they were both good! Beans better than average. The sweet tea was also on point!! Love me some sweet tea.
