Love this little farm. The animals seem happy and well-cared for. Their quality of life seems good - which is important to our when choosing an attraction to visit. It's a great size for younger kids - we typically spend 1-2 hours there. We just went back this past week. The winter wonderland is fun to visit - our kids love the Christmas maze. When we were there, we saw 2x baby goats being born and there were 2x other 4 day old goats. So adorable! read more

My kids had a blast, but I'm not sure how this place is still running. There are a huge number of animals here and they all need more care. 1) There was a dead chicken in the chicken coop. I wonder if they tested for avian flu. 2) The bunny habitat was covered in bunny poo. 3) The pigs are so overfed that their jowls and bellies nearly touch the ground. 4) The horses are coated in mud, mats, and their hooves are cracked because they have not been cleaned in a very long time. Horses require daily grooming. 5) The cows have clumps of mud hanging from their hair and likely have an issue with mites or lice. They could not stop itching. 5) Heaps of junk were everywhere in the public areas. 6) At no place on the farm was there a staff member present to ensure the safety of the animals or guests, even with 100s of guests on site. read more

I've gone here for a few different fun events. My favorite was pumpkin carving with the baby goats in fall time. They had a bunch of tables where you can carve your pumpkins and the goats are very interactive and eating leftover pumpkin guts. A wonderful family fun event, or even if you want to go as a date with your significant other! I went with my husband since we don't have children and there were a few other couples without children there carving as well. Totally worth the money. Definitely pay extra to feed the goats. I've heard great things about Spring Haven farm but haven't had the chance to visit until yesterday. This farm was a lot of fun. It's a small farm but well kept. I came with a group of friends to Spring Haven for a pumpkin carving with goats event. We were greeted by Lucy the dog who was such a sweetheart as well as Annie the donkey, and Petunia the pig! We were sold from the beginning! You can either walk through the maze or around it to get to the pumpkin carving stations. I would think of the day of the week you go as weekdays there are more goats than people and the goats can be overwhelming sometimes. If I go again, I would choose a weekend day so that there is more people for the goats to be distracted with. Other than that it was a wonderful experience! read more

We visited the farm this past Sunday to participate in carving pumpkins with goats, for us it was a 10 out of ten experience! The farm itself was very well maintained and the animals seemed happy, well cared for and loved. Please be advised as to how their membership works because I misunderstood the way they worded the discount part or they did not commit to how it was worded so I paid $80 after tax for membership and in the section where it explained the wonderful benefits it said that you get 20 percent off admissions not a admission so this is why I had purchased this membership to start with but it's only a one TIME 20 percent discount ALL other admissions are regular price so this is not a good deal for me personally and if you try and buy tickets in separate transactions they have it blocked to where you again only get that ONE TIME discount and I did bring it up to an employee and she said that she had applied the discount but it wasn't I paid regular admission so this is a warning to other people so that you don't get stuck with a $80 dollar membership that really doesn't save you to much that's the reason why I join memberships to get the savings . Our favorite pumpkin patch closed after last year's season, so this year we have been wanting to find another fun spot to go that isn't too crowded (been there, done that) and would be a unique experience. Well, carving pumpkins WITH BABY GOATS definitely was a great experience! Tickets must be purchased online, not at the farm -- I don't know if we were super lucky or if the place actually limits the amount of people by their online ticketing system, but it was pleasantly bustling but not busy. Nothing like the big farms we've been to on weekends. This is ideal probably for younger families (those with kiddos maybe 6 or 7 and younger) or for those who just love goats. I did spy a few young couples here too, and I'm guessing they fit the latter group: goat fans! And, really, I don't see how you can't be a fan of goats after this experience. You get to carve your pumpkins with about 15 or 20 baby goats jumping up on the tables around you, putting their cute little heads inside of hollowed out pumpkins, petting them, feeding them (they seem to prefer the actual meat of the pumpkin, not the guts or seeds). It's really quite the experience! Side note on pricing: when you check the facebook page, it says a certain price and that is the "with pumpkin" price -- it's still about what you expect at other pumpkin patches around the Triangle, but there is also a "without pumpkin" price for families who just want to make one jack-o-lantern which is about $5 less. Also! There's an incredibly nice donkey (Annie, I think), horses, ducks, free-range chickens (careful when parking!), pigs, adult goats, a kid tractor ride, an adult tractor ride (about 15 minutes or so with a great explanation of the farm), picnic tables for snacks, a small concession stand, many hand-washing stations, a small "spooky" (not scary) maze, face painting... it probably varies by season too. The animals are all so friendly, and you can buy carrots and pellets to feed them by hand (except the pigs, drop the food in front of them). Everyone working at the farm was so nice and helpful too. I'd recommend wearing shoes & clothes you're comfortable getting dirty - it is a farm after all! We really had a great time here. Such a unique experience! It's a bit of a drive for us, but I can almost guarantee my 5 year old is going to request going back here next weekend! Oh, added bonus: it's easy to find, google maps does a great job getting you there. And, not a lot of crazy country roads, unless you "avoid highways" with your navigation and then maybe you would get a lot of that! We did the Valentine's with goats yesterday! Talk about a fun, family friendly experience. We gotten our tickets in advance and good thing we did, the parking lot was packed at 11 am. This place is amazing!! I went here during the week, and this filled all of my expectations! I had heard of Spring Haven Farms through a website showing cheap things to do in the Triangle. The pictures made the farm look big, and they were not exaggerating! This is cute little farm is reasonably big, but you'd never know, because it is tucked away in the trees. As for the animals, there are plenty! They have goats, horses, potbelly pigs, roosters, chickens, hens, cattle, quail, ducks, turkeys, bunnies, and a lazy but happy donkey. There are so many cute baby animals as well, including an ADORABLE baby goat named Holly. People are allowed to pick her up, pet her, and more! This farm should be a must on everybody's list. It is a great thing to do during quarantine, but try to go early, because the animals prefer to eat earlier. They also are more likely to be active before the noontime sun. But watch out! Certain animals on this farm roam free, such as the chickens and the donkey. It can be a surprise to see one of them tearing free across the area! Be sure to check this place out! My husband and I have been here twice, for pumpkin carving with goats and winter wonderland with goats. Both times have been fantastic experiences! The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, but of course the main draw is the animals!! They are all so cute and friendly! The goats in the yard vary in size from little babies to medium sized mamas, the bigger ones are behind fences (but you can still give them treats and pet them). Pumpkin carving day was really busy but there were still enough goats to go around. I recommend getting two bags of treats per person - the carrots for all the friendos and then the seeds for the goats. read more

We visited Spring Haven Farm for their Goatstravaganza event with our Girl Scout troop. While we were at first hesitant about the price, we quickly learned that the admission cost was worth EVERY PENNY once we arrived!!!
