My co-worker applied to these apartments and was denied because their system couldn't verify her income due to it not connecting to her bank. They told her paper statements and / or screenshots of the statements would not work because her checks from the company are hand written. They were incredibly rude about them being 10-99. Sounds like they are unwilling to work with people who can prove they make enough simply because of their banks / how they get paid. She did also send in her IRS tax form which they claimed did not work. I lived at Spring Hill for 18 years. The apartments are decent for the price in that area. It's a nice park-like setting in places. The management seemed fine and the maintainence was good. This year I bought a house, gave my 30-day notice, and moved out the end of February. I understood that I was on the hook for rent until the lease was up or they rented the place. Well now it's Apil 4th and the only thing they've done is tear down the blinds so I can see in. In the last month they have done nothing to make it rentable. Nada, zilch, zero. Now it's true that they are not legally obligated to make a good faith effort to rent the place, but it's also true that I am not obligated to give them a good review. It's a shame they squandered 18 years of good will for two months rent. read more

Leasing office people are rude, bunch of thieves and dishonest people. Also my motorcycle was stolen and they refused to do anything about it. They add late charges even though you pay the rent on time. I've lived for nearly 2 years and wouldn't recommend renting this place at all. Even moving out was a nightmare. Between myself and the people I took the lease over from, the apartment was inhabited for just under 5 years with not one thing ever replaced. I received a bill after moving out for over $500 of "damages" that they were billing me for over my security deposit. These charges were absolutely ludicrous. Charged me for the kitchen floor for "gouges." What gouges? There were no holes in the kitchen floor. They just wanted to replace the flooring with the new wood floors and wanted me to pay for it. Charged me for missing items that weren't missing. When I tried to dispute the manager just shut me down saying the items weren't there. He said she said type situation. Charged me to replace the carpet. I asked why it was my responsibility to replace something they were going to do anyways. She told me that they only replace carpet every FIVE years unless it's in bad shape. What?!? That's disgusting and a scam. No one can keep cheap apartment carpet perfect for 5 years. DO NOT RENT HERE! If I could rate in the negatives I would! This is the mold that kept growing in our apartment after the guest bathroom ceiling leaked and toilet flooded. Poop water flooded our whole bathroom and hallway/living room! You know what they did about it?! Put fans on it and painted over the mold!! We cleaned the carpets several times and it kept growing back. We lost a bunch of valuables from the flooding and the mold grew in our closet which in turn molded our clothes and shoes. Even our clothes and bedsheets constantly smelled like mold and had to keep washing them! When moving out we did not bother to clean the carpets because they clearly needed to be replaced due to uninhabitable living conditions. They sent a letter and are making US pay to replace the carpets and are keeping our security deposit!! After saying there is a MOLD issue and they need to replace it anyways the lady told me "not all mold is bad mold" CLEARLY this is if it kept growing back and spreading everywhere! Stay away from this nightmare of a community! Bugs. So many bugs. Lived here since early 2019 and never seen so many in apartment before. It started with earwigs. My family finding 2-3 a day. Even finding them in the casings of my 5 year olds pillows. We find a strangely high amount of those silverfish bugs as well. Then it moved on to fleas. We have never, and probably will never own a pet (allergy reasons). Where did the fleas come from? Perhaps the squirrel infestation in the attic. Maintenance. I love the guy who does it, super nice dude. But I don't think he is authorized to spend money to replace things. They will fix the same 1960's appliances over and over using gum if they have to. There's also a few things they refuse to fix. For some reason either the apartment or just the fridge is horribly uneven, causing the fridge to lean forward dramatically. Which causes the fridges doors to swing up dangerously fast, and causing them to not close sometimes; opening back up due to the lean. And the ceiling fan leaks water in the bathroom whenever it rains. Called twice on it, still does it. Lawns. Beware of your step if you decide to walk through the grass around these complexes. It's plagued with dog and geese poop. And pine-needles so apparently sharp in can go through a child's flip flop. Management. Get this. This placed tried to tow my car in the middle of a pandemic. The reason? Illegally parked - Expired tabs. Let's set aside the fact they used the world illegal, which has a specific definition unrelated to what their personal companies rules are. They had no clue whether my car was registered or not, they seen the sticker was expired and tagged my car for tow. I asked management what if someone stole my sticker in your parking lot and the car is actually legally registered? They said it wouldn't matter. What? That's insane! How can my car be registered, and fully functional, moved everyday as I use it everyday, and be qualified for tow just because it doesn't have the sticker? I think the biggest red flag though is that it's their personal company position, that during a pandemic, that they would tow your car over something police wont even pull you over for. Let me rephrase that more succinctly. Spring Hill the apartment complex is more aggressively out to find ways to fine/get more money out of you than the police are. And when I asked why, they said because "they can". I told Coleen I would quote her in the review. Stay as far away from this bug infested, falling apart, predatory management, pile of dog/geese crap! You will save yourself a lot of stress, and bug bites. read more

This place gets some bad reviews, and quite frankly I'm not 100% in love with living here, but I've been here for 4 years, about to sign on another year for a solid 5. Here is my honest review with pros and cons: -Pros: cheap, good distance from all of the shopping centers, right next to M-59, dog friendly, has a dog park, maintenance comes within a couple of hours, emergency maintenance after hours comes relatively fast, two full bathrooms in two bedroom units, Shelby Twp PD is always patrolling (I find that to be a good thing), snow removal is somewhat decent, lawn care is somewhat decent, never had to struggle to get in contact with leasing office, somewhat friendly people living here -Cons: squirrels living inside the walls, neighbors NEVER pick up dog poop, can hear upstairs neighbor walking very easily, a lot of small bugs (traps and sprays will be your friend), windows don't offer well insulation in winter, carpet is cheap, paint inside the bathroom tears easily, maintenance does the bare minimum 90% of the time, neighbors throw their cigarette butts all over the grass Moral of the story; it's an OK place to live if you're on a budget. It gets the job done without a ton of stress. Just be mindful that you get what you pay for. This isn't a 5 star place, but it isn't a dump either. read more

This property is horribly neglected as is their sister property Pebble Creek. I lived their as a single mom for almost 3 years and was forced to maintenance the inside of the apartment myself. The staff is rude and their Group Five Management office is worse. My daughter and I were displaced after a building fire and someone died in the upstairs apartment. Springhill did not offer us anywhere else to live on the property and we were forced to move. Now they are trying to collect back rent. It is not a safe place to live. If you read one review read this one. This place was the worst decision I've ever made. I read reviews before coming, saw they were bad, but I felt like you just couldn't beat the price. I learned my lesson and I will always pay a little extra to ensure my safety and sanity. Here's a list of what went wrong: 1. FALSE ADVERTISING: pool has been empty over 2 years and there is no car wash 2. The week we moved in we found found a ton of mold in our utility room. It took them almost 2 months to come look and say "wow that's bad" spray something and say they'd be back to replace the plywood soon. A year later and they never replaced it. 3. Our apartment flooded because as they said it "our foundation is old and water probably seeped in" 4. Everytime it rained our community hallway flooded and it took them a minimum of a week to fix. All you could smell is mildew. 5. Cars were constantly broken into - and left on cinder blocks after tires and rims were stolen 6. Cops were called to the complex at least once a day. 7. Cops were called to my building between once and twice a week for domestic violence, drugs, and people screaming at the top of their lungs at 2am 8. I had to call the cops 4 times for sexual harassment from the man who lived above me. 9. I complained about this man for 2 months before the complex responded to my complaints all while responding to other tenants - they just didn't care about my safety. They only responded once I sent a certified letter demanding we be released for our UNSAFE and UNHEALTHY living situation. 10. Still despite a response they did nothing! This man watched me with binoculars, screamed extremely demeaning words to me, rubbed a foreign substance on my door, stalked me, and destroyed my property. But I guess all of that plus 4 calls to the people didn't matter. 11. They were rude, unhelpful, and consistently promised a call back which I rarely If ever got back. 12. We left 2 months early because of our situation. Sue from management said "if you feel unsafe get out, but you will still pay rent" what a kind gesture huh? 13. I also want to mention that the 3 women who lived there before me all called the police on this man and complained about him. Yet they still have done NOTHING! I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. READ THE REVIEWS AND ACTUALLY TRUST THEM. THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE - especially for women. Don't live here. Pay an extra $100 a month next door and have peace of mind. If you're okay with waiting unless days for maintenance to come or being charged ridiculous amounts of money for damages you did not cause this is the place to be. I barely lived at my apartment and I got charged $1,000 for damages that I did not even cause. Arguing with a resident about the type of smoke detector/gas detector in their apartment is ridiculous. Especially when I'm holding in my hand and can READ that it's a smoke AND gas detector. That YOU installed. Dismissing an alarm of that nature is putting all of your residents at risk. I was forced to call 911 to make sure my home wasn't filling with gas or carbon monoxide. Next time take your residents seriously and treat them with respect. I will never recommend you to friends again. read more

Let me start off with saying that my husband and I have been living here for almost 3 years. Why, a low star rate then? Because within the pass year this place has become a drag. We've had issues with OFFICE staff being not able/capable of doing their job in a timely matter. The maintenance people.... A+++++. They are amazing and nice and get things done to help you have the rest of the day. But it feels as if we/residents have to do the office staffs' job. I'm not paid to take care of the grounds at this place nor the care of the building. I understand within the residents' home we need to be responsible for taking care of things, however this place is clearly showing age. We've had stove issues, cabinets breaking, power issues, ant issues, smoke smells from other residents issues, lawn care, ice/salt issues and (my favorite -__-) mice. Residents are required to basically resort to contacting the bigger management to get this accomplished. Now I am a pretty understanding person, but let's just say I'm finally glad to be in process of house-hunting. Now don't get me wrong this is a DECENT starter place for someone, couple or small family...but don't plan to live here for more then 2 years tbh. Not worth sacrificing your money on a place to pay staff that won't take care of you well. I lived at this place since 2009. I recently moved out last year. I actually worked in a different state so I wasn't home half of the time because I work a military job. They did not accept a years worth of rent so I had to have a relative mail in checks. To be told because their name was on the check they couldn't take it. Made my rent past due charged me a ton of fees and basically said oh well. Despite that I still stayed. Because I have no use for my car (was in a different state) my neighbor called to tell me the apartment put a tow sticker on my car. It was parked in my assigned place. Every time I would come home it was always new staff and new neighbors except from across the hall. ( He helped make sure everything was in order). They would get upset if they had no permission to enter and at one time told me I HAD to physically live on the premises. Then when I moved out they charged me 800 in fees. Stating the apartment had damages. I WAS NEVER THERE !!! It looked brand new!!! I hired an attorney and am currently in process. I check my credit and that's how I found out of the charges.I wouldn't recommend this place to live. read more

Don't go here, they don't maintain the property, and have sub-standard maintenance crews. Our AC quit in a heatwave, first guys came out on a Sat. and said we needed freon which they couldn't get to. On Monday more guys came out and said it was the compressor and they'd have to wait a day for it to cool down, never seen them on Tuesday. Where can I report this shoddy business? read more
