On the same day my mother was to be release she "caught" covid, her podiatrist appointment was canceled for a second time, i was told she "dropped" her phone in water and not one person feels the need to tell me any of this but, the operator who has no business knowing the patient has covid tells me. Very bad facility do not recommend. Even being a health care proxy finding information is a hassle and the person to speak to is also which i shouldnt have to do when its about her health.

I could talk about the lack of care, and the filth from this unit, but I'll skip over that. I visited him almost everyday, getting him the things he needed since the nurses never did, and noticed an immediate, immense decline by day 2 of being in long-term. We thankfully moved him to a better facility, and come to find out, they had put him on a medication he did not need and had never taken in his life, which was making him into a zombie. He said this himself as well. It sucked the life out of him rapidly. Nobody had notified us of this new medication. The new nurses at the new facility agreed he shouldn't be on it and took him off immediately, and he's back to his normal self. We also found out that there had been inappropriate relations from a nurse/nurse aide. Despicable. If your loved one is here, ask for an updated med list. If they're not here, that's a blessing.

My Mom had Diabetes too and from when she was admitted in Dec. 2023 until one week before she died in March 2024 they neglected giving her insulin, months without insulin because one of them said in so many words it was uncomfortable pricking her finger to test her blood and they gave her Risperdal an anti psychotic medication we told them not to give her. I found all this out when I got her reports. Major neglect, my mother probably suffered silently. I would never recommend anyone to put their loved one there. I cry to this day what horror she must of went through and I wish we never put her in that hell hole.

They provide long-term care, post operative recovery, and short term rehabilitation. There is an Alzheimer's and dementia unit. There's a team of physicians, nurses, and therapists there to help people recovery and provide long-term care for the elderly. I have a relative there and they are well cared for. The room is small but private; others share rooms. When assistance is needed, someone is usually there to assist. They also have a large living room for events and a smaller room when a patient has a few visitors at once. The place looks clean. Overall, a good nursing facility that seems to care about their patients.

You are greeted by friendly and informative staff. They show you how to check in and give directions to the room . As my husband and I went to the elevator we noticed how clean everything was. We also noticed the PT areas and activity areas were also very well maintained. We made over way to our friend room and dinner was being served. OMG ! It looked , smelt and from what he said , tasted delicious. ( the other facility's food wasn't even close to being that good ). I don't think it's appropriate to name them as I don't write bad reviews. Hathrone Hill is worth writing about. I think it's hard enough to see a family or friend going through medical issues. So having a place you feel comfortable with is a major stress relief ! I waited until my friend was released to write this because truthfully I was ready to write this review from day one ! They are not big on Doctors, but will come when forced. Have have an ER, urgent care, and clinic. They also have an Long term care skilled rehab center on site as well an professional building that house many specialists. I spent the night here once when I was five years old or so. I swallowed a penny (I was very orally fixated) and it got stuck in my throat. I had to have surgery and then I pooped it out about 2 weeks later. Nice!

To see the interactions the staff has with the residents is very heart warming. They are very loving and attentive towards all the residents. They always have a kind word to say about my mother and will relay any funny antidotes they have concerning her. They are on top of her medical needs, aware of any changes she may exhibit, keeping me informed as to what is going on with her. I, as my mother's guardian, along with my mother have an excellent relationship with all the staff, from the receptionists at the front desk to the nurses, CNAs and social worker that take care of her. The bookkeeper that handles her account is also a peach! I can call her any time about any question and I will get an answer. She is very knowledgeable. These are just some of the people at Port who have made her stay there enjoyable.
