I recommend the surgeons at Orthopedic Associated of North Chelmsford, MA. As a retired RN with…read moreO.R. experience, I tend to be very critical of surgeons. Since 2019, I've had several procedures to alleviate the pain of osteoarthritis. First, a left rotator cuff repair then, in the fall, a left knee replacement, by Dr. Scott Sigman. High praise for him and his team. I had minimal post op pain and was walking the day of surgery. Several years later I had the pleasure of bilateral hip replacements, 1 yr apart, by Dr. Stephen Designa. Again, minimal post op discomfort and, with physical therapy, return to normal with no more pain. And such tiny incisions--I can barely see them! Thank you and bless you, Dr. Designa. Now, in 2026 I'm back for more magic, seeing Dr. Howard Wu for bilateral shoulder arthritis . He is urging me to have the surgeries, first the left which is giving me the most discomfort and limited range of motion, then, after a time, the right. But, since I'm elderly and also caring for my disabled husband, I've been putting it off. He's right,of course, I need them ,and I'm not afraid but he listens to me and, I think, understands. It's comforting to know that, when I'm ready, he'll do his best to give me real golden years. We baby boomers are lucky. Modern technology and talented surgeons. Replace the old, worn out joints and we'll feel better. Maria S, Lowell, MA August 2026

From my experience, I felt his bedside manner could be better. I often left feeling like my injury and concerns were being minimized and that I wasn't being fully heard. My impression is that he has a very direct, surgeon-focused approach, which may work well for some patients but wasn't the best fit for me. I can't say he's a bad doctor. However, beyond providing me with time off from work, I don't feel much was done to fully evaluate all of my complaints. For example, I never received comprehensive strength testing for the various issues I reported. One thing that also concerned me was that the office seemed to use a standard template in the medical notes. Some of the statements about my care did not accurately reflect what occurred during my visits, which I found frustrating. I've also spoken with three other people who were not particularly happy with their experiences when I mentioned Dr. Alter. Of course, that's anecdotal, and it doesn't mean he isn't an excellent surgeon. This review is simply my personal experience as a patient. I will say Amanda the medical receptionist was great, every request I asked for, she promptly responded to me with the information I needed.

I began seeing Dr. Gerber after I had a snowmobile mishap and had a hairline fracture on my hip, resulting later in a torn meniscus because of how I favored my leg. I continue to see Dr. Gerber for Patellofemoral Syndrome a.k.a. runners knee. Dr. Gerber has worked with me on pain management, which doesn't resolve taking pain medications. He's provided me with at-home stretch exercises, as well as physical therapy. I also get bilateral knee injections to help relieve bone-on-bone degeneration. Dr. Gerber has always "listened" to how I was feeling to come up with the best treatment plan for me - no two patients are the same. When I have my office visits, Dr. Gerber always asks not just about me, but also about my son (he had a health scare 5 years ago). He also talks about his family and grandchildren (one of his daughters has twins on the way) and has another grandchild. He's an MD first of course, but also a great human who cares about his patients and overall well-being. In 2022, I moved an hour and a half away from his office. Because he is such a great MD and human, I drive an hour and a half for a 20-minute appointment which speaks volumes in itself. My husband is also a patient who has had bilateral rotor cuff/bicep tear surgery. I've always been greeted pleasantly from my arrival to the nurse escorting me, to the x-ray techs, his secretary, his PA, and so forth. Everyone makes me feel welcome, and I see the same care and respect for other patients. I will continue to be a patient of Orthopedic Surgical Associates and recommend them and Dr. Gerber for the best care. I know you won't be disappointed. When you start reading reviews for IVF clinics--especially larger ones like Boston IVF--you'll see…read moreeverything from glowing five stars to stories of heartbreak. After going through it myself, I've learned that it's not really about the clinic itself. It's 100% about the team you work with. And if you're lucky enough to work with Dr. Emily Seidler and her incredible team then you've found the gold standard. We had a really difficult start at Boston IVF and came close to switching clinics entirely. The care we first received was impersonal and left us feeling completely lost. At first, we thought we could tolerate that if it got results--but over time, we realized our specific needs, questions, and goals weren't even being considered. The doctor was focused on what they assumed we wanted, rather than actually listening and working with us to maximize our outcomes. And then we met Dr. Seidler--and everything changed. Dr. Seidler is one of those incredibly rare people who is both deeply brilliant and genuinely kind. She doesn't just follow a set protocol--she pays attention. And I mean, really pays attention. When I did my first egg retrieval under a different doctor, we ended up with 7 eggs--and a massive insurance headache. We felt completely failed by the system. Then we met Dr. Seidler. She took the time to understand us--our goals, our history, our insurance limitations--and helped us make smart, thoughtful decisions that were truly in our best interest. Under her care, my next retrieval produced 22 eggs. That wasn't luck--that was her tracking how my body was responding and adjusting the protocol with care and precision. She stayed engaged, curious, and genuinely invested. She noticed things. She remembered things. She made us feel like we actually mattered--not just as patients, but as people. That kind of brilliance and humanity in one person? It's honestly a unicorn-level combo. And then there's Robin and Nikki, the two amazing nurses who make up the rest of this dream team. These women are absolute rocks. IVF is emotional, confusing, and full of logistical twists and turns, and they helped us navigate all of it with so much grace, clarity, and PATIENCE. They fielded every voicemail, email, and question (and yes, I had many!), and always responded with such kindness and patience, like I wasn't being overwhelming--even when I 100% was. Their kindness didn't come from a script--it came from presence. From actual care. And you can feel the difference. Thanks to this team, I felt supported, seen, and in incredibly capable hands at every stage. Their combination of expertise, compassion, and steadiness helped me stay grounded through a process that is anything but predictable. They didn't just guide me through treatment--they held me through it, with so much heart. And now, after three egg retrievals and three embryo transfers, I'm sitting here, 20 weeks pregnant, feeling this little baby kicking (!!) as I type--and the gratitude I feel is hard to put into words. I know I will carry this team's impact with me for the rest of my life. Dr. Seidler, Robin, and Nikki didn't just help us get here--they gave us the gift of feeling truly cared for in the most vulnerable moments. I will never forget what they've done for our family. If you're wondering whether Boston IVF is right for you--my honest advice is this: don't just look at the clinic, look at who you'll be working with. The right team makes all the difference. And with Dr. Seidler and her team, you'll be in the best possible hands. Their care changed everything for us.

In my experience she has been caring, compassionate, and always responsive to my needs as a patient.
