The best staff, and as a tribute to Dave, the owner, many have been there since the last century. 2.I walk into the locker room and am transported back sixty years to my high school locker room. It's the familiarity; what I don't miss is the group shower. 3.No nonsense. People are there to work out, and no one sits on a machine scrolling through their phone. In fact, people are exceptionally courteous. "Are you done with that?" My answer is, "There are another sixty torture devices I can use." One more plus. More women use that gym than men, and the men who do don't gawk. If they do, they are gone.

Sure, you can go ape crazy with bikini contests and odes to body building. Or you can opt to get a real workout with really good people, great music, encouraging community and get something out of it in 45 minutes. There are other options on their menu, but the boot camps, ever-changing, reformatting and mixing it up, keep your body guessing. (and trust me, I'm not a fan of the term "boot camp" but for lack of a better term, I'll suck it up because the sweat is REAL). As with everything in life, you get out of it what you will put into it. Even if you DIDNT change your lifestyle, and did a handful of these puppies a month, you will see results. Strength? Muscle tone? Better balance? It sneaks up on you. If you add a nutrition regimen, of course transformation is possible. But I didn't come for transformation, I came because I needed to focus on some muscle building and the gym world has been like barfing pellets. The "gym culture" gets on my nerves after a while. Sure, will you find stereotypical "meatheads" at FA? Maybe. But when we all walk in and the instructor gets us going, we are all too focused to worry about baloney and work gets real. The most amazing thing about the structure are the instructors. Many of them are body builder/bikini champions! And yet they are not into the "look at mah booty babe" at all (like some dance instructors out there). NOPE. They are there to make sure your form is good, you are focused, encourage and guide you. Need to modify? Oh they will do that without shaming, au contraire! They will make modifications with attentive and super professional bedside manners. Everyone walks in happy! And walks out dead. Beat. Sweaty and with a feeling of accomplishment. High fives all around. Staff is happy. It's the happy torture chamber. I am really enjoying this, and I was so on the fence. Glad I found them! Other FA's in the area: Shrewsbury, Boylston, Grafton... and at all hours and days of the week. They got you covered!

I had some limitations due to an injury to and replacement of my hip so, while I was very motivated, I wasn't sure whether I could take full advantage of the program. I was so wrong. Not only did I drop about 40 lbs., I also got to a point of fitness that I never imagined given my limitations. I had been a gym rate before doing mostly spinning and the treadmill and some boot camp classes. It was boring but I did enjoy it. I had never done any real cross training like I did with Bob and once I started, he had me so motivated and driven, I wanted to do everything to my fullest potential. And it was SO fun! He was extremely knowledgeable about how to handle working around injuries and was also able to modify most exercises so that I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. He listened to me and I trusted that he wasn't putting me at risk for any injuries. He was so invested in my success that I didn't want to disappoint him. The studio is neat and organized and the bathroom and shower is clean. I like that there is only 1 other person in the studio. For anyone looking to be healthy, whether for weight management or to optimize your fitness, this is the place to go. In the short time I have been there, almost 1 month, I have already noticed a significant improvement to my fitness and energy level, and I have lost 5 pounds. (Hopefully, just the beginning!) The trainers are highly skilled and excellent. I have worked with Krista, John and Resa, and they all make the workouts fun, yet challenging with a mixture of aerobic and weight conditioning customized for me. The hour flies by! There is no problem switching between trainers based on my schedule. They are very flexible about this. The facilities are excellent and always clean. It's convenient for me to workout, take a shower, and then head to the office - starting my day in a healthy manner and giving me an energy boost for work. I found this is also helping me cope with increased stress levels from my work. I am sure I am not the only one who finds themselves too busy to workout in a "normal" gym environment. Making an appointment to workout with a skilled trainer appeals to me, as it forces me to show up, just as I would for a doctor or dentist appointment. Knowingly myself, this is really the only way I can fit a workout into my busy schedule. Personal training is not an inexpensive option, but how does one put a price on having higher energy for work and family, losing weight, and hopefully living a longer and healthier life? Rather than always giving, sometimes you have to make a choice to invest in yourself. I feel this has been the right choice for me, and I highly recommend BodyScapes to others if you find yourself in need of extra motivation to get to the gym and workout consistently.
