To be a little more transparent I waited a year to actually move in waited for a unit that from what I was told by Valery and another leasing agent that's no longer there had 24 hour pool access finally that day came there was one avalible. Then the day of signing the lease I validated with Valery and the other lady leasing agent and just to be sure Asst manager Alison came over and I spoke about the reason I waited and specifically stated the 24 hour pool access Alison reply was "oh yeah yeah" (which as I come to find out she will say when she has no intention on actually listening to what your saying). Well a few weeks after I move in I find out from the manager Katherine or as I refer to as Kat that even though I have pool access it's not 24 hours (the lock the entrance gates at 9pm but even with those locked my gate on my porch opens into the pool area which my gate is not locked) then one day about a week of me trying to have a deeper conversation Kay walks up to me in the office while her boss is in her office and in a quieter tone tells me directly "you can go in there and if no body says anything then your fine but if someone one says anything" (I found that as a sneaky little side deal so I never entered the pool area after the gates were locked) then she reverts months later and states it's the fair housing act so u can't. I felt if she would of offered me the opportunity at the beginning to switch units that I wouldn't be paying the extra for "pool access" then I would of been happy with that. But nope if I transferred to another unit it would of been $300 transfer fee. And to go with that theme recently our pool was closed for renovation which really as there email said to us they failed inspection. So since I couldn't even access the pool during pool hours (the extra I'm paying for "pool access") you would think they would credit or remove that extra off every unit that's paying that extra fee... but nope paying for something I couldn't even use. Recently my renewal time has came up and there was a conversation that was taken right in the office for all to hear and I was told if I renew my rent stays the same except for the amenity fee. But I got my new lease and the rent was actually higher so once again not sticking to their word. I won't be renewing as fool me once shame on me but that's not happening a second time.....There are a lot more concerns but I will be emailing that to everyone up the corporate ladder as those emails are public as I found.

This turned out to be an absolute blessing. Less than six weeks later it's my new home Ashley could not have been more helpful. I looked at various places, but kept coming back to feeling wanted here. That's incredibly important after selling my childhood home and feeling rudderless. This place is quiet and accessible to 1960 and all of it's restaurants and fast food options. There are two gyms: Planet Fitness and Gold's Gym within walking distance. Whataburger, Burger King, and Wendy's are also walkable. Not to mention Victor's Delicatessen, which has the best brunch options around. In conclusion, my new apartment feels like home after one week. There's plenty of green space to walk my dog Rickey, as well as two tennis courts. Champion Oaks seems like a gift from God after praying for a peaceful landing spot. I could not be happier with this place and look forward to the year ahead. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place with access to Cypress Creek Parkway. It's also just a short walk to the bus stop. Randalls grocery store and Barnes and Noble are just a short walk or bus ride away. Northoaks is across the street and houses a Ross store, Gordon's Food Service, Hobby Lobby, Jersey Mike's, and McDonald's.

Update: The grounds are not being properly maintained. We need to get some type of pressure washer cleaner on the premises to clean up the build up of dirt, spider webs, wasp nests, and miscellaneous debris in the hallways and stairways. They advertise as a "luxury" community, but there isn't anything luxurious about getting stung by a wasp or bit by a spider! It is a very quiet community, neighbors are very friendly, and the grounds are always kept in very nice condition. It is unfortunate that some of the residents do not respect the amount of work the landscaping company puts into maintaining the grounds because I see residents leaving their dog poop on the ground - which is absolutely absurd being that there are numerous dog cleaning stations conveniently located throughout the community. The 24/7 Starbucks bar was pretty awesome, until residents took advantage and started stock piling coffee supplies, causing management to put a lock down on such items. Now for the con....parking....absolutely....sucks. Pardon my French. Honestly if you don't plan on shelling out the money for a carport or garage then plan on parking outside on the street majority of the time. Also, do not opt for a space with the divider, they are extremely tight and only geared toward small compact cars. Silver lining, if you get a carport (without the divider) or a garage, they are large enough to fit two cars.

After being approved and walked through every single step of the leasing process, I was informed the day before my move-in date that I was "ineligible" due to a potential raise I might receive in the future. Let me emphasize: I was penalized for hypothetical income that does not exist. That is not policy, that is a scam dressed up in paperwork. To make matters worse, the very same day I was denied, management attempted to upsell me on an identical apartment with the same specifications for $200 more a month. The catch? It wouldn't even be available until October. So, not only was I left without housing on my move-in date, but I was also insulted with the suggestion that I should wait an extra month and pay more for the same product. That is not "professional leasing practice" that is predatory behavior, plain and simple. What's most disappointing is not even the denial itself, but the complete disregard for integrity. If this is how your management team operates playing games with people's livelihoods and basic housing needs then it's a matter of time before others are harmed as well. Imagine if I truly had nowhere else to go, if it was just me and my child depending on this move. That's the reality you toyed with for profit. I am not naïve, I am not desperate, and I will not be taken advantage of. Do better, because this was unprofessional, unethical, and unacceptable. Karma doesn't miss. Count your days!
