Cheryl was able to provide the pressure that almost hurts, in a good way, if you know what I mean.

Located in the heart of Saratoga Springs, New York, the Roosevelt Baths have been a sanctuary for…read morehealing and rejuvenation for years. The Experience: As soon as I checked in, I was asked to choose an aromatherapy option for my bath. After changing, I waited in a calm relaxation room with tea and snacks until my name was called. The atmosphere was peaceful, setting the tone for the experience. The bath itself was deeply relaxing. One thing that surprised me was how deep the tub was--I wasn't expecting that. I remember wondering if the minerals would make the bath feel different, like maybe there would be some tingling, but it felt like a regular bath. The ambiance of the bathhouse was serene, with soothing music and dim lighting that really enhanced the relaxation. I've even shared my experience on YouTube, you can check out my full experience and get a feel for the vibes here: https://youtu.be/rZRi-EZA5zw It was interesting to learn that, back in the day, a bath here cost just $1.25, whereas now it's around $64. It's a bit expensive for a bath, so I'd say it's great for a one-time experience. However, I think the staff could do a better job of educating customers about the benefits of the mineral water--what it does and why it works--so we can actually understand the impact it has. It would be even better if they shared testimonials from long-term clients about how it's improved their lives. Pro Tips: 1. Enter the park through the Avenue of the Pines to avoid the $10 parking fee. 2. Check out the nearby creek--it's a gorgeous spot! Last time I visited, I set up a surprise picnic for our anniversary there. You can ask the staff at the front desk about it. For me, it's exciting to know the history behind Roosevelt Baths and to experience something that people in the past believed would heal their bodies and that once provided a natural luxury experience to everyday New Yorkers.

I was the only client, but the for some reason the tech sat 10 feet away from me and made me wait for ~10m before she came over to start my service. While waiting, I could take in the overall grunginess of the salon. I did not expect this at the Roosevelt, which is old but has charm and is usually clean. The floor linoleum was old and in need of replacement, or at least a deep cleaning. The pedicure was slipshod. My feet soaked in the lukewarm whirlpool for about 10m, then she took my feet out for the "massage", This consisted if her rubbing some lotion only on the front of my lower legs. Very disappointing. The manicure was borng as she made no attempt to make any sort of pleasant chit-chat, even when I did. I found out halfway through that they did not use gel polish, and both my mani and pedi had peeled off in a week. The whole thing cost me $120. It would have cost me $80 - with gel and much better service - in my hometown of Cambridge, MA. It's a good thing I downgraded from the deluxe mani/pedi, which would've set me back $145.

My awesome husband decided to surprise me with a…read morespa day Now please forgive me in advance, i do not recall either of the sweet lady's names that took such good care of me He booked me a bath, massage and facial. I am no stranger to massage but i have never had a spa bath or a facial before. The spa house is quaint and antique. I absolutely loved the feel and ambience of it. I arrived a few minutes early, used the lady's room and almost as soon as i sat down in the waiting area, i was greeted and told that my bath was ready. I was taken into a dimly lit room where i had a nice warm bath of mineral water waiting for me. There was a robe, a towel, and a hand towel, along with a little chocolate and ice cold water. I was educated on the detoxification properties of the mineral bath and advised to drink a good amount of water. After my 30 minute soak, a gentle knock on the door was my friendly reminder that it was time for my massage. I dried off and slipped into my robe and the slippers they provided. The sweet lady helped me carry my clothes to the massage room. Next, my wonderful massage therapist came into the room. We went over the basics then she stepped out while i got myself into position on the table. I've had Swedish massage and therapeutic, deep tissue & sports massage. My knotted up body was ready for whatever she was willing to throw at me, and she delivered!!!! It was the perfect balance between Swedish and deep tissue. Just the right amount of pressure with relaxing massage. Next came my first ever facial! You know that moment after a massage where you are feeling like a bowl of pudding and you really don't want to get up? A facial is PERFECT for this! I still got to relax and get a nice facial massage while my body woke up. After, my face was soft and absolutely glowing! If you're in the area, i highly recommend The Medbery Day Spa!

This is the poorest county in all of New York State. Some people are disabled and need the massage therapy and sacrifice a lot of things in order to get the massage therapy. But, when the owner gets very upset that you're only giving her $20 tip. That itself was not a good idea as I have owned my own business as well.

I have muscle adhesions in my right piriformis, which has caused lower back pain, troubles/knots all down my right leg, and eventually contributed to me rolling my right ankle a few weeks ago. Atmosphere: When I got there they were very nice, professional, the place is clean, well decorated, very relaxing, take cash or card. Treatment: I opted for the 60 minute Chinese bodywork massage. It was wonderful. The piriformis can be a tough area to get into, but she knew how to manipulate my leg to get to it, unlike other masseuses I've been too. My lower back, leg, ankle felt so much better after the treatment. I know I'll need more treatments, however now I feel like my leg is getting better vs steadily getting worse. Other Comments: I don't get the previous reviewer. It's an Asian spa, how can you be so ignorant or intolerant to complain about Asian women speaking in their native language to each other. She must complain about cooks in Chinese restaurants, or girls at Korean nail salons too. I also had a second woman join my massage for a few minutes when nothing else was going on. Normally you have to pay extra for the 4 hand massage but they did not add it to my bill. Again, why would the previous reviewer complain about getting a higher level of service is beyond me. Also, as I was coming in 2 different guys were on their way out. Both separately were raving about how good their massages were and how they couldn't wait to return. I know I can't wait to come back and try the cupping or foot reflexology.
