I will never rent a boat from this place again. We called in the morning we were supposed to go boating to cancel because of thunderstorms in the forecast. They told us the weather should be fine, no storms. So we decided to go, started with the boat at 11:00am. At 1:00pm we got caught in a huge thunderstorm, it was really scary and lost a small zipper bag attached to the boat bridge, absolutely nothing we could do about it because the storm took it away. They charged us $ 150 for this very small bag and we ended up paying $ 750 for 2 hours of boating while we paid for 5 hours. I guess this is a money hungry place that don't care about customers, only about making money read more

My friend and I took our 4 kids out on a pontoon boat with the tubing package. We did not have a lot of experience but felt pretty confident after the orientation they gave us. We knew where to go and what to look for. The staff was friendly and we had an amazing time. The Crest lll has a broken front door. That was a little annoying so we will book the other boat next time but we will absolutely be back! read more

We couldn't have had more fun or be more pleased with our boat rental through Spring Lake Marina. Our Tri-toon High Performance boat was gorgeous, comfortable, smooth and fast enough for tubing. The staff was super helpful with our myriad of questions. This place is a scam. A group of 10 of us rented a pontoon on 8/12/2017. We drove it just fine for 4 hours and when we got back they claimed we messed up the motor and charged everyone in our group $114. And nobody in our group saw anybody inspecting the motor. Im not sure if they thought we had money because we were all dressed up since we were celebrating my birthday and another friend's birthday. Or they simply do this often since the "office" is technically someone's house. So a scam? Most definitely. Beware! You may end up pulling out $114 from your pockets or even more if there are less people in your group. This company is not suitable for bigger groups, they really know how to scam people!!! read more

We rented a boat (Deck Boat) from Spring Lake Marina on Sunday July 1st for 4 hours. Every bit of the experience was what I had hoped for. The boat was clean and in good operation. It is not the newest or latest and greatest boat available. But it operated flawlessly and was fast and easily handled tubing for the day. We had 7 people on the boat and could have fit a few more. So everyone was very comfortable. They provided us with a map of all the lakes and their recommendations on where the best spots were for tubing or just swimming. They do make you purchase your own rope for $25 if you don't have one of your own. They don't want to deal with ropes that are starting to fray which is understandable. The tube they provided (nominal additional cost) was also in very good condition. The parking was easy and right next to the pier so short walk with all of your boating items. The tube was also in excellent shape. The folks in the office were very nice and the gentleman that took care of us when we left and returned was equally as nice. Their gas, like most places is more than you pay for your car, but not what I would consider exorbitant ($4.15 boat vs $3.47 car). In terms of cost, I looked at a few other places and Spring Lake Marina was by far the least costly of all the other locations I checked out. In many places they are charging $159/hour vs the $70/hour we paid. Yes the boats at the other places are newer. But I repeat, the boats at Spring Lake are not old and they clearly well maintained perform fantastic. I would absolutely return to Spring Lake Marina for another day of fun on the water. read more

If you're looking to rent boats, Spring Marina is the way to go! It was the best boating experience I've ever had! When our original boating plans fell through, Spring Marina accommodated our group of about 50 people with no prior reservation. We rented out 3 speed boats, 2 deck boats and a pontoon. All of the boats were beautiful and ran smoothly! They took the time to show us around each individual boat and gave us a quick but informative tutorial on how to drive it. Our group had a blast and we will definitely be coming back now that we've found this gem in Antioch! read more

This place is fabulous! I had previously owned a boat and kept it in a marina on the Chain O Lakes. When I needed to rent a boat for a family outing, the owner of the marina where I'd kept my boat said, "There's only one place to go! It's called Spring Lake Marina. I don't know them, but I've heard nothing but wonderful things about them. Yeah, there are other boat rental places on the chain, but Spring Lake Marina is the only place that everybody raves about!" He was right! We had a fabulous time! Everybody there was sooooo nice and just wonderful to work with. Spring Lake Marina is so great that when I told my adult daughter that I was planning to write a Yelp review, she said, "Maybe you shouldn't. This place is too good to share! If everybody learns how fabulous they are, they might be sold out the next time we go back." :) Still, I'm writing it anyway and I'll just have to hope that if you choose this place for a boat rental (and you'd be nuts not too) that you won't need your boat on the same day that I need mine. :) read more

We rented a brand new 2015 24' pontoon boat and skis and a 2 person tube last Sunday afternoon. We had a great time and the staff was very friendly. Originally we wanted to rent a ski boat, but with a 2 year old in the group, Nancy recommended that we switch to a pontoon boat. With 7 people, she said it would be no problem pulling up a skier. What a great place! Rented a pontoon short notice - they had it ready - super easy. Located just a short trip through the channels to both Petite Lake and Fox Lake. They clearly explained how to stay away from hazards that could damage the propeller of the boat - which is always a risk when you are on a body of water you don't regularly boat. Good people, friendly and fair. We have rented from Spring Lake for years and never disappointed in the service and equipment. Yes, there are other places to rent from and we have, biggest difference they don't nit pick you or look for ways to over charge you. Also, their boats are in much better condition then others. Sure you can join one of those so called boat clubs, but the newest one with all new boats only has 60 hp boats and I assume that it is due to insurance reasons and the memberships fees are expensive. Spring Lake Marina are extremely honest business people and always look to make your day on the water fun. I highly recommend. read more

One star is too much for these scammers. Do not rent from them, because if you make even small damage - they will force you to pay $1000.00 deductible, promising to estimate and give you remaining balance - it will never happens. They will simply forget about you and ignore all the request. We reported them to Better Business Bureau along with their lovely scammers partners - insurance agency. We have rented boats from most companies in the Chain of lakes area. We have looked into those boat rental clubs (not worth it). The folks at Springlake Marina are the most professional, friendly and want you to enjoy your day. I never have an equipment problem nor have they ever nit picked things wrong where others would claim you damaged. There is one rental company out there that will charge you for even a pin head size dent that you probably didn't even do. Same company has very outdated and out of service equipment. I highly recommend Springlake Marina and is the only place we will rent from. read more

This place has TERRIBLE service. We have booked a boat for Saturday morning to only find out when we got there the owners gave our boat away. Not only was she not able to get us another boat she stared to get snappy with us. It's ur mistake find a solution. She said there was nothing she could do and made us leave. We will never book anything with these people there not only due to the rudeness but for the fact they couldn't even care to find a solution. read more

I was on the web site and a little concerned. It mentions fishing only from approved fishing boats and I wasn't sure how much fishing we were going to do, but wanted it as an option. I also wanted the canopy of a pontoon boat to keep us out of the sun if we wanted and assumed fishing would be allowed only from their fishing boats (no canopies). When I called they said that fishing was allowed from some of their pontoons. As she put it "the older ones, but they're still nice with a little smaller engines." I booked one of those. I knew we would want to explore the chain of lakes, but might want to fish some too. It's not the easiest place to find, but when we got there and parked, the lady mowing the grass came over and told us where to park and meet her at the "Tiki Bar." She had plenty of information for us, a map, some likely fishing spots and gave us a quick tour of the boat. They take good care of their boats and want you to do the same. The boat was in great shape. I wouldn't have guessed it was one of the "older ones." The engine had plenty of power to explore. We went on a Thursday (yesterday) and the lakes were not crowded at all. The four hours flew by as we were having a great time exploring and doing a little fishing. If I had to complain about something it was the broken fuel gauge on the boat. It's a little unnerving not knowing how much gas you have when you're in the middle of a lake. They weren't trying to gouge us for gas (you pay for what you use when they fill up upon return). I think this is probably a pretty common problem with boat fuel gauges. read more

Rented a boat for a "day before school starts" outing with our teenagers. The staff at the marina is great. They are so easy to work with, very accommodating, and make the entire rental process a breeze. We pulled in the parking lot, paperwork done, instructions given and in the boat in 10 minutes. I had tried for several days to get in contact with someone for a boat reservation about 10 days before we were going to be in the area. I finally got in touch with Nancy on a Sunday afternoon who took my name and number, and promised to hold a pontoon boat and get back to me since she was too busy that day to take my credit card info. She got back to me 2 days later like I was brand new client and unfortunately she had given my boat to someone else. I'm sure that she's a nice person and not intentionally aloof, but as Jerry Seinfeld says "you can TAKE the reservation, you just can't KEEP the reservation, which is really the whole point". I would advise anyone in this area to look for a different service since you're gambling that they may not actually have a boat for you when you show up! read more
