Unfortunately, the weather interfered with our ability to see as much as we had hoped, but we still had a great time! There is a nice visitor center with a variety of historic and nature info available, including some great info on the CCC work that took place in the park (there's a really nice interactive model of a CCC camp too) and how and where the park name is suspected to have been derived from. There is a real snake to look at, as well. A very nice playground is located nearby, and this section of the park also offers easy access to the Loysalsock Creek and the beach with a snack bar, plus multiple picnic tables and shelterhouses. It's beautiful even just to look at the valley walls and the creek itself. There are several gorgeous vistas available, some by foot and some by foot or car. We especially liked the Loyalsock Canyon Vista, which can be reached on foot or by car. It is located next to the Rock Garden, which is a very neat grouping of giant rocks and boulders that is a lot of fun to check out. The park also offers camping and plenty of trails. Worlds End is located within the Loyalsock State Forest, so there is also a lot more that one could explore in the area.

Ricketts Glen used to be my favorite PA state park, but World's End has totally won me over. The…read moremost important reasons: 1) The hikes here are a little more challenging, a little longer, and just generally more enjoyable for me. 2) The family campground is spacious - the tent sites and modern electric sites are interspersed, but you don't feel like you're right on top of the next site over. 3) The bathroom facilities are clean and warm, no matter what time of year I've visited. Big ups to maintenance and the camp hosts. 4) The camp hosts and visitors center personnel are fantastically kind and helpful. They obviously love this park. 5) Fun stuff like the Forksville General Store, Snack stands, swimming hike, Haystacks, Rock Garden, and all kinds of other interesting places to explore! I've been here with friends, with my family, and by myself, and I've thoroughly enjoyed each trip, so I'll definitely be back for more!

If you don't mind the terrain - which can be a bit unstable - then this is a hike you'll enjoy!…read more The river runs right next to it. I parked at the "Devils" parking entrance. There's a tiny bridge as well as a very iffy hike alongside. I had my deaf and blind dog along with me so I couldn't do too much as I was afraid he'd fall down the side into the river. I hear that just past this parking area there's a beach? That should be cool. I'm actually on my way back there this morning to check it out. Bring water and bug spray cause I can only imagine the mosquitos, etc., that are there in late Spring and during Summertime. Enjoy!! Happy hiking.

I stayed in the organized group camping area and loved how the sites that we booked allowed for plenty of tents to spread out within your group. We stayed in J, K and L. Last year there were porter potties and this year there was a bathhouse. Sadly there were no showers, the family bathroom was locked all weekend, and maintence getting to the bathroom was not good. Wehad to walk through a field of knee high grass to get there. During peak tick season, this was not ideal. Lastly, quiet hours apparently do not exist this is area of camping. Groups around us were chanting and singing before 5am and had an intense volleyball match at 6am. Boyscotts camped near us and were up late screaming until 12am. There needs to be more ranger presence, this truly altered our experience. The state park itself has great hiking and swimming area but the organized group sites were very mismanaged.

While J & D campground was not in Bloomsburg it was an easy drive to get there. It is also close to Knoebels. It's family run and oriented which we liked and appreciated. The grounds were clean and well maintained. Our site was level and an ample size. Neighboring campers were friendly as was the staff. The pond was large, and while we did not fish we could have. The playground was newer and well equipped. While there is a pool we did not check that out, but did notice that a large round bathouse was closed. There were a few activities but since we were traveling without children only two we participated in. One was the food truck parking on the lot. We did get dinner there one night. It was expensive for what it was and not the exceptional but hit the spot that evening. There is also an ice cream shop across the street I believe owned by the same family that also served some fast food items. We got ice cream there every day, once even twice in a day, always greeted to a large crowd. I do do the boushie bingo which to me was a huge disappointment. They talked it up like this was a big deal and the prizes were above and beyond the norm. The price to play was like $5 or so but they had the lamest prizes, some used donations from other campers. I regretted even going and wasting money, as it was straight up regular bingo as the crowd could not seem to grasp the concept of "specials" so it wasn't challenging in the least. A huge miss for me. Otherwise a decent campground in an area without alot of activities or dining so do plan your trip accordingly because boredom sets in fast.

For 2 of us, paid $30 total for one night for a tent site (tent sites are in the strip of land across the road from the main office). The tent site was much better than I thought. 1. only 3 parties there in a very large area reserved for tent only camping, we were very spread out and it was pretty peaceful 2. camp site right next to a beautiful creek! 3. had electric outlets and tap faucet right next to the tent site. We didn't bring anything that could be plugged into an outlet but thinking in the future I could be sitting in a hammock and watching a movie on my laptop while being charged 4. camp site didn't have a fire pit or an obvious hole in the ground where you make your fire safely but we were out climbing very late and too tired to make a fire anyways when we got back. Lots of fallen branches you can collect to make a fire. The other 2 parties had built fires, didn't see how they did it. 5. the shower house closest to the main offices had large showers which were in decent level of cleanliness, paper towels kept running out though so bring your own Overall, very happy with this campground and will definitely come back in the future! A couple of things I noticed (1) the area where RV's are parked looked pretty crowded and also loud (2) I don't think I saw anyone else wearing masks around the campground, even when a lot of people were going in and out of the office. The 2 of us may be the only ones wearing masks there, when going into the office and using the bathroom

Since then there have been a lot of changes under the management of the new owners!!! The new owners have done a terrific job updating and cleaning up the property in just a short 6 months. They have remodeled cabins, painted the bath houses and pavilions, reinforced and painted the playground and fixed the roads that lead to each of the 3 levels of the grounds. That's just the beginning of what they have in store for upcoming seasons. It has been so much fun meeting new people who have been so kind and friendly!! We've had numerous gatherings at the main pavilion with live music, food, games and hay rides!!! 4th of July weekend they put on a fireworks display and at Halloween a Trunk or Treat for the kids!!! I love our new campground family!!!
