Originally opened in 1937 as Berry Field, the airport code "BNA" is a nod to its history, while today's terminal reflects Nashville's modern growth and unmistakable Music City personality. As a frequent traveler, I find BNA easy to navigate. It's not as sprawling as airports like Charlotte or San Francisco, and getting from one gate to another is fairly straightforward. There are plenty of good local restaurants, shops, and comfortable seating areas, so grabbing a bite before your flight is part of the experience rather than an afterthought. The live music throughout the terminals is a fun touch and makes the airport feel uniquely Nashville. Between the guitars, murals, and local performers, the city puts its best foot forward. The only downside is that the music can make it difficult to find a quiet place if you're trying to take a business call or get some work done before boarding. Also, there are no moving walkways, so wear comfortable shoes if you're headed to one of the farther gates. One of my favorite parts of BNA is simply people-watching. It's always entertaining to see visitors arriving in full cowboy boots and hats, ready to experience Nashville for the first time. Overall, BNA is clean, welcoming, and captures the spirit of the city better than most airports I've visited. It's a great first impression of Nashville. Life is short. Get out there, travel, and see what the world has to offer.

However, if you are meeting a hotel shuttle, get ready for a hike. You are going outside, across the street, turn right at the parking garages and walk to the end to meet a shuttle. It is often hot and humid in Nashville, and this is enough to make one grumpy. My last time here, we came into gate C9. I walked off the jetbridge and thought "where AM I"? I had never been to this part of the airport before. It was about 10:30 at night and we were all shuffled off to a doorway to get on busses to take us to the main part of the airport. They lined us up in different sections and then we bussed around the tarmac. Finally to be let off in the other part of C terminal to go hike out to our hotel shuttle. At least by that time I knew where I was. But it took quite some time just to get from the plane to baggage.

The location is unexpected but could be advantageous since there are no restaurants in the vicinity. There's no prominent signage for the diner by the road so it may get overlooked. I've heard about it only through Facebook at this point. My coworker and I tried a couple of the sandwiches; a BLT and the Sky Mile club. We had carryout. I figured the BLT would be a pretty basic selection to try for the first time. I was a bit underwhelmed with undercooked bacon and the suggestion of tomatoes. If the name has the ingredients then they should certainly show predominantly. Bacon on a BLT should be crunchy but I had to pull away the uncooked fat which didn't leave much bacon. There were two very thin small tomato slices and a pile of lettuce. One out of the three ingredients showed well. The lettuce was fresh and in shreds so it was easy to eat :/ The Mile High club was layered quite nicely. She said it was good. It had plenty of meat and had the extra piece of bread in the middle. The carryout presentation was very nice and it made us anticipate great food. Both sandwiches came with fries. She opted for the salt and vinegar and I got the garlic and Parmesan. Both servings, although still hot, were very greasy and soggy. We only ate a few. It was a let down. I hope they can get it together consistently. It's great to see locally owned places make it. But to have business in an area that doesn't draw much food traffic you have to be a food attraction. Their surroundings are great as long as there are planes landing and taking off. This will most likely be a one time visit for me. Perhaps it was just an "off" day. Unfortunately off days can cost customers

The runway has just been upgraded, paved, & restriped. The lobby provides alot of choices in snacks & beverages to hold anyone over until their next stop! Showers & bathrooms are very clean & maintained with the necessary items you may need whether you are male or female. Along with the continual upgrades being made to this airport, the fuel prices remain to be the lowest of any airport in Tennessee. The constant concern for the pilots & their aircraft is what's important so I hope everyone will take time to visit & hopefully experience some of the same great things as I have while traveling through that area!

Stopped in for fuel in the way home from a wedding in NC. The 4 stars are for their fuel prices. Otherwise, besides the accessible restrooms (building door is not locked), nothing else is available. If you haven't brought your own snacks or water on the trip you won't find any here. The place is clean enough overall. also the ladies room floor was fairly dirty. We usually end up at these little airports on weekends so we don't expect them to be open and manned but quite a few do leave amenities available for traveling folk.
