I've been trying to get a decent lawn to grow for over 16 years. I've tried doing it myself, I've over lawn services without any success. My lawn has never looked so good using Spring-green. I am now 1 year into my service with Spring Green and my lawn looks worse than when I moved into my house and immediately hired them. Communication with the staff and owner/Manager Ben, has been absolutely terrible. I have complained about the poor communication multiple times. Even directly to the Owner and nothing has changed. My services have not been on a consistent schedule. iVery early on, I was advised to get a soild test. I said sure lets do it. It took over 6 months and multiple reminders/follow-ups from me for them to complete it. After 1yr, Neither the pre-emergents nor the post-emergents they are using are killing the weeds. I legitimately have more weeds now than when I started the service. In addition to some spots of dallis grass, crabgrass, and nutsedge, I have at least 5 other types of invasive weeds/grass throughout my small lawn. I also have several large (3'-6') bare spots that are not due to excessive shade or lack of water. I have also had worm/grub treatments so that should not be the cause either. These spots had nice Bermuda there last year. Back in the middle of April, I asked for 2 tons of top dressing along with core aeration. They told me if would be completed in 2 to 3 weeks. They wanted my lawn fully out of dormancy. My lawn was 99.999% out of dormancy. Just like every other bermuda lawn in my neighborhood. Mine just has actual dead patches. 1.5 months later, my lawn is "completely out of dormancy" and still looks horrible. And yet there has been no mention or scheduling of the top dressing/aeration service yet. To say I'm unhappy with my services and experience is an understatement. If there is a problem in my lawn, and you are able to diagnose it, and I say "OK fix it", why cant that be done? read more

Good price with okay service. The crew shows up, works, and leaves in roughly 5 minutes. The lawn has been maintained its appearance. That is our lawn looked much better than my previous lawn company. Now, our lawn looks like it keeps up by any homeowner doing their maintenance. However, the spring-green price is affordable. Bottom-line: if you need someone to help you maintain your lawn then at the price spring-green is an option. At first they were responsive and managed my yard for about a year but over the next 2 years my yard looks awful. Multiple complaints and call backs led to nothing being done. After the last year I went out and hand picked all of the weeds in my yard which filled 8 grocery bags. Ben was recommended to me by my former lawn service who did my cutting, trimming and other services. My lawn was is basd shape from a dry fertilizer explosion from a malfunctioning spreader. So there was a basic lack of Bermuda grass where it was burned out the previous year. Since I have had Ben Whitehouse caring for my lawn, the front lawn has come back and filled in grass where it had been bare, The weeds are greatly improved and I am once again, a happy homeowner. I had Tru Green and became very fustrated. After having the tech show up twiice, do nothing then leave a slip saying he fertilized I was done. Switched to Spring-Green and after one treatment I am seeing great results. Weeds are down, grass is greener, and looks thicker. My tech was very good and did not rush through the process. He informed me of some weed issues and what he did to start the correction process. On top of that they were less money than Tru Green. Hope this type of service keeps up but as of now very happy! read more

I recommend you think twice before hiring this company. We paid in full in August ($89) for services and were told that our yard would be serviced the following week after payment was made. Two weeks passed and our yard was still NOT serviced and 3 phone messages had not been returned. The owner of the company finally made contact on September 12th. New to the Fort Mill area...hired Spring Green to treat our yard. After the first service one of my neighbors told me that I had made a mistake choosing Spring-Green over TruGreen. 4-5 months later I can absolutely see why. Not only does his yard look much better, the level of service/communication is NOT good. This last weekend the subject came up at a cookout and apparently it is common knowledge that Spring Green just overall doesn't do a very good job. Unfortunately I made the decision two weeks ago to terminate my business with them...one because they obviously don't do as well as TruGreen or some of the other businesses but mainly because the lack of communication is horrible and really has been that way since day 1. Early in July I paid for a brown spot treatment. I had to follow up numerous times before finally getting that treatment done over 3 weeks later. By then, the brown spots had taken over much of My yard. It was laughable when the gentleman that came to treat my yard showed up, he informed my wife that he did not think the brown spots were coming from a fungus, but from us letting our dog use the potty in the grass. Problem is...we do not have a dog and the brown spots are 100% from fungus according to TruGreen. Already the communication and service with TruGreen is MUCH better. Also, I had requested to have my yard treated with a grub control on July 6th. On July 16th I followed up to see when the service would be competed and was told the "first part of next week." That treatment never happened On July 24th I followed up and asked again when that service would be completed as well as my July fertilizer treatment. Ben who I am guessing is the owner responded "Hey both of those treatments should be done in the next week or so." At this point I canceled my service. I did try following up numerous times to see if the brown spot treatment I had paid $78 for consisted of one or multiple treatments because the one treatment they did stated "Brown Spot Treatment #1" on the invoice. The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt someone's income or business but I definitely want to look out for my neighbors when I say DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH SPRING GREEN. The level of customer service is extremely poor. read more

I HIRED Spring-Green after firing TruGreen! I FIRED TruGreen after paying for a year's worth of service because they said they would spray the lawn every 4 to 6-weeks. After 9-weeks, I spent 3-days trying to get ahold of someone who could help me. Needless to say, when I was finally able to talk to someone, I told them, "YOU'RE FIRED!" Compare that to my experience with Ben at Spring-Green -- they come when they're supposed to, they do what they say they're going to do, and if I have questions Ben is there to help! The lawn was installed by the builder and was overrun with crab grass. After a couple of months, the crab grass is GONE and Spring-Green is working on a few other weeds in the lawn but it looks so much better than when they started and I couldn't be more happy with the service. read more

I would recommend staying clear from this business if you are looking for regular yard maintenance. We did not renew our contract after they kept missing our side yard on several treatments even after we complained. They returned for another treatment even after calling them to tell them we did not want to renew. Now they have sent us to a collection agency claiming we owe them $69. Definitely a scam!
