The lobby is a beautiful turn-of-the-century throwback, complete with afternoon tea, and the suite itself is enormous. The real standout is the people. The entire staff was warm and attentive, and the bellman gave us that true five-star welcome that so many hotels have forgotten. This team clearly cares about their guests. Unfortunately, the room itself did not live up to the price point, which was around $600 a night for our suite. The furniture is dated, which I could accept as part of the charm, but the jets in the tub did not work, and that was a real disappointment since a great soaking tub is one of my wife's favorite things about a hotel like this. The bigger issue was the AC unit, which made loud noises all night and slammed on and off so hard it sounded like someone was coming through the wall. Neither of us slept well. I raised it with the front desk and they were gracious and offered to make it right and they comp the entire stay. Not necessary, but outstanding customer service! I'm genuinely glad we experienced this unique property once, and I hope the maintenance catches up to the hospitality, because the team here deserves it. At this rate, though, we won't be back.

For $150 a night I expected something with nicer furnishings, clean carpets, and spaces that looked like they were maintained well. The room didn't have any USB charge ports so if you don't have an adapter, you're out of luck. Employees were friendly but that doesn't matter much to me if I'm in a room with carpet that has a ton of, what I hope to be, grape juice stains.

The dinner experience wasn't great at all and again going off of what we were told last year, that was just really disappointing. The set up for plates and the extras were in weird spots didn't have a nice flow and the dining area was very hot. I had high expectations from a Drury rewards member and this is not the stay they told me we should have had. I booked two rooms for 6 days so a lot of money was spent for a poor stay. Overall was very disappointed and would not recommend the Greensboro Drury.

It was so late and we were tired we did not bother to try to get another room. Other than that I don't really have any complaints. Due to a flight delay, I missed my connecting flight and was rebooked for the following morning, causing me to miss my first night at the hotel. When I called, I learned I had already been charged for the first night and that my entire reservation had been canceled. I requested to be rebooked using the group rate, but the hotel denied my request, so I stayed elsewhere instead. Later, a front desk employee agreed to refund the first night since the missed stay was due to circumstances beyond my control and canceling the entire reservation made little sense. However, the refund was never processed. When I followed up, the hotel refused to honor it because I could not provide the employee's name. I would have understood being charged for the first night if I had been allowed to keep my reservation, but charging me and canceling the entire stay was unacceptable. Unfortunately, based on this experience and the poor customer service I received, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Upon checking in to our room we found out that there is no fridge in our room and made a complaint. The moment receptionist said only higher up floors have a mini fridge due to some shortages and group event. I told her that we are apart of the group and I'm in 7th floor out of their 12 floors. The following day I got a chat and I voiced my complaint and I got my mini fridge. It shouldn't be like this - to be a Karen. Plus one of our bed was soaked with moisture, at first thinking my kids spilled some water. But it's the bed was soaked prior to our stay. Had them changed the bed sheets and my wife has to use the hair dryer to get it dry. Plus the lobby has no air conditioning. It seems like some people have the same problem prior.

It is clean, smells good, and the rooms are spacious. They offer a decent complementary hot and continental breakfast as well as areas to do business, etc. All hotel staff was very professional and friendly. There was one issue that I had with this hotel. On Friday, October 28th, the fire alarm went off throughout the hotel. It lasted for probably around 30 minutes or so. There was no communication or any staff members on the floors instructing guests on what to do. We were all very confused and didn't know if this was a test alarm or if we needed to evacuate the building. There were never any instructions for us to evacuate our rooms. I decided to leave the room and go out of the building because the alarm kept going off and no one was saying anything. As I took the stairs from the fourth floor down to the first floor, there was a strong smell of what seemed like rubber burning. It was only when I got to the first floor that I went and asked one of the staff what was going on and she said that someone put something in the microwave that wasn't supposed to be in the microwave and triggered the fire alarm. At that time, two firemen entered the building to go and evaluate the situation. This was handled poorly. Guests should have received communication on the expectations regarding that fire alarm. Had this been a different situation with a real fire, this lack of communication could've had a detrimental effect on the guests. Other than that situation with the fire alarm, I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is a really good hotel. I rated it as a three solely because of the issue with the fire alarm.
