Very nice location, easy access to the Coliseum (IMHO still drive there & park, but if you're ok with a 20 min walk it's certainly walking distance if the weather is nice!). They've done a great job keeping up the property, hallways have some dated carpet & wallpaper - but our room seemed like it had been updated (not 'recent' but better than 20-year old carpet!). Everything was clean and the linens were GREAT - I wish I could buy some they were so nice, not what I expected at a 'regular' Holiday Inn location! Staff was great, handled the busy rush of those checking in before a concert really well. Overall I'd easily return here if in the GBO area! read more

5 STARS because the staff was exceptional! Very friendly, courteous, helpful, attentive, engaged, kind. Very large lobby for gathering or relaxing. Nice little bar area for socializing and meeting others. Large dining area with plenty of seating for a single traveler to a large group. Room (2 queens) was pleasantly comfortable. Linens are soft, light and weighted to keep you warm but not sweaty. Bedding as comfortable and allowed for good rest and relaxation. Pillows were also comfortable. Lots of sitting and desktop space but a lack of storage - just three drawers and a closet; this was a bit tight for 3 travelers from Thursday - Sunday...but we made it work. Bathroom was spacious. Fridge but no microwave. Lots of counter space and a couple cubby slots for storage. Traditional bath/shower combo. Bath linens were scratchy soft. A decent fitness center. Nice campus that is maintained. Overall, extremely satisfied with our stay here. Highly recommend. read more

The hotel rooms are very outdated and the bathroom sink overflow hole and in the room was full of disgusting black sludge/gunk and smelled horrible. I notified the front desk of the issue and the housekeeper poured bleach down the hole and advised that should temporarily fix the smell issue and if it still was a problem to call again so maintenance could do a better fix. When I went back to check, the housekeeper only poured bleach down the hole. A deep clean with scrubbing was required, not just pouring bleach so I called the front desk again and advised the housekeeper's method was not satisfactory and I was advised housekeeper mgmt. would stop by to take care of the issue. The housekeeping manager arrived and I advised the housekeeper had only poured bleach down the sink overflow hole and it required scrubbing. The Housekeeping manager took a video and did take care of the issue with a scrubbing brush and some cleaning solution as best as possible, most of the black sludge was cleaned off. However, why did the housekeepers on 2 occasions find this condition of the sink to be acceptable for a guest is a big issue. The housekeeper that cleaned the room before a guest checked in didn't find it necessary to thoroughly clean the black sludge from the sink and neither did the housekeeper that was alerted when I informed the front desk of the issue. The quick fix used for this issue gives me feeling thorough cleanliness is not applied in many cases here. Additionally, the bathroom ceiling were dirty and I just don't see why this hotel is listed as 3 star or received a 4.4/5 for cleanliness. I haven't stay at Holiday Inn in over 10 years and won't plan on staying at another anytime soon. read more

TERRIBLE. housekeeping staff completely destroyed my necklace while friends and I were out for the day. My necklace was sitting in one piece on nightstand, we returned to it broken in five pieces as if housekeeping accidentally knocked it over and then vacuumed it up. The only explanation we got from management was a denial of fault. SMH. Talk about poor customer service. If you're going to stay here, DO NOT leave valuables in your room. Avoid this hotel at all cost! It's been quite a while since I stayed at this hotel. The stay itself was mediocre she non descript. Typical Holiday Inn with terrible ac units and ok rooms. When I called for a digital receipt for an expense report I was told they wouldn't do that and it could take at least 2 business days. When I pushed for a manager the evening manager cursed me out. Luckily I had a recording at the time and IHG provided heavy compensation to their credit but again avoid this hotel at all cost! In all my years of travel the worst customer service and stay I've ever had. Worse yet the general manager at the time you me I was making it up, even with a recording. read more

Just steer clear of rooms on the fourth floor corner (around 420), this area can be really noisy from some sort of equipment. I have spent roughly 800 days in hotels around the world over the past 40 years of work travel. Only Rarely have I found a hotel with such genuinely happy, efficient and helpful employees. The facility and are clean and amenities are quite good for a hotel in this moderate price range. The location is nothing special although there are couple of decent restaurants in walking distance. It was the first class service brought back for a 2nd night stay instead of heading to an average hotel in Raleigh. I was in Greensboro to visit with the renown Center for Creative leadership (CLC). I see the hallmarks of good leadership all over this hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service at a good, medium-priced facility. read more

Nice hotel, but just go in knowing they provide *zero* flexibility with regard to accommodating athletes that may be competing at the Greensboro Athletic complex. Need just an extra hour or two in your room before heading over to your event? Nope. Full extra night will be charged. This hotel gets five stars for excellent value. We stayed here on 8/27 for the AC/DC concert in town. It was only $110 for our family of four on Saturday night. All staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. Rooms were well-equipped. Bathrooms were outstanding with rain shower and stream sink (but no exhaust fan). Parking and wi-fi were free, all rooms have an empty mini-fridge and coffee maker. Free newspaper in the morning. We did not have time to use the workout room or pool, but they both looked great (I love having a nice selection of dumbbells). Breakfast was delicious but expensive - probably should have looked for a coupon or similar, but whatever, the overall value of this hotel was incredible for us. Lots of places to eat nearby. My kids decided on Lone Star, and it was also great. The walk to the coliseum is only about a mile, which takes about 20 minutes but is certainly quicker than driving when you depart a concert. We would certainly stay here again; it was a very nice stay that contributed to us having a fantastic time on this family trip. Rock on, y'all! read more

Came to Greensboro to deliver my freshman son to NC A&T for the fall semester and we needed a place to stay. Hotel was very clean in the lobby and some A&T students were working the front desk. Checkin was painless and quick. The room was spectacular with two queen sized beds. Plenty of electrical jacks for recharging my electrical gear. Nice TV although I didn't watch. Bathroom was spacious with a shower where the water dropped down from the ceiling. PLENTY of hot water that was hot enough to make a cup of coffee. Plenty of towels along with extra soap, lotion and shampoo. The only disappointment was breakfast. I thought there would be a free continental breakfast but instead we had to pay for breakfast which was not a good value. The buffet was $11.95 which was better than ordering aka carte. The selection was not that great for a buffet. That is why a four star instead of five. Otherwise the room was great and the beds were great. Got a good nights sleep. Oh AC was spot on as well for August. read more

We arrived on 6-16-18 for a soccer tournament, very tired and hot from being on the soccer field we arrived at the hotel and there were no rooms available. Upon arriving I had call several times to see if they could put us in a room with no success, right before going to our second game I decided to check one more time for a room, I was greeted by Crystal one of the desk receptionist and there were still no rooms available :( she went out of here way asked me for my phone number and the search began. Right before we had to leave for our second game I get the call from Crystal saying that she had found us a room yayyyyyy she had been working really hard to make sure we had a room. I stayed at this Holiday Inn when my returning flight home was unexpectedly canceled, and it was the best part of a crapy situation. I booked online from the airpot and as soon as I walked in and said I was checking in they asked if I was Mrs. Preston, nice personal touch for a business chain hotel. The place is really immaculate. It is cozy yet modern at the same time. They have a full bar that I saw a nice group hanging out at and having a nice time. They also have room service and a restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms are very ample and well equipped with the standard desk, flat screen tv, sitting area etc. The bed was nice and comfy and I slept like a baby which I usually don't when traveling next day and moreover at hotels. The toiletries are also top of the line from bath and body works! And they have the extra touch of provide a moist makeup remover and shower cap. Also they place a complementary news paper at your door and the coffee if pretty good too! Also the area was close enough to the airport but easy access to food and shopping. This is a gorgeous hotel! I was completely surprised when walking in because it looks really high end. All of the decor is AMAZING! Whoever did their design gets major kudos. The pictures don't do it justice. The rooms were great! Pretty, CLEAN, and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable, the pillows were heaven, the bathroom was great, rain shower, enough towels and washcloths, the lotion smelled amazing lol and did I mention how CLEAN it was! I love cleanliness. I can't say enough about this hotel. Oh and the smell is amazing too. You'll know what I'm talking about as soon as you walk in the hotel. The lotion smells like the hotel lol. All seriousness, the next time we come to Greensboro we'll definitely be staying here again, and again, and again, and again. We didn't wake up in time for the breakfast because the bed was so comfortable. But I wouldn't are if the food was good or not bc the rest of the hotel was so amazing. It's situated in a spot that's close to great food. Olive Garden and Carrabbas are right across the street. Ruth's Chris just under 3 miles away. I booked a week in advance through Hotels.com and brought the print out of the confirmation number when I arrived to check in. The girl at the front desk was rude from the start, could not find my reservation and got the manager. He never spoke to me just got in the phone and left me to wait for over an hour. When I complained the girl was again rude and the manager offered me a free bottle of water!!! This was a terrible experience. I finally got it resolved after I contacted Hotels.com myself.... horrible staff.... room was ok. I'll never be back! read more

The design and layout of this hotel is modern and inviting. The entire place was impeccably clean. Showers are "rain shower" style, which is a nice upgrade. Almost every week, one night a week for a year I would stay here. After a few weeks the entire staff knew me by name. If you want some good food and great friendly service just stop by and see Fran or Melissa at the bar. Buffalo wings are great especially with their caesar salad. I rarely could eat it all. Clean Rooms, great amenities and great location. Renol Ratchford manages some of the most friendly people at the front desk that you will ever meet. He treats them like family and they follow the example. When I would arrive, I was treated like family. They welcomed me by name as I came through the door and even knew my favorite room. What a great stay! The front desk/managing staff was outstanding and very accommodating upon our late and unscheduled arrival. It looks like the hotel was brand new or newly renovated and our room was perfectly clean and comfy. Breakfast the next morning was a wonderful surprise and our server went above and beyond with making sure we had everything we needed, gave us some ideas on things to do and wished us well. Living here for the night was like being reborn. I have no words for this wornderfull peice of art. "Great news there is a buffet in the back"(god). I cant beleive i can play CSGO on 12 fps 14 p. The bar is extravagant with a full 7 chairs but they are not lazy boys. My only complaint is I cannot rate this beautiful peice of art 11/5. Seeing Kramer on the television was amazing what a funny guy. The lighting dont get me started on the lighting. Number 1 only the best lighting. I am only a child so my mommy paid the pricing on the hotel but I bet it is as good as the hotel. These chairs are SUPER tall and they are grand like the buffet the restroom sign is also green so if you are color blind there maybe a big problem. TheKre are only 2 gender bathrooms so I do not like that but i cannot really count off points for it since all big HUGE corporations have that now adays. The personal computers are not apple so they are good. The 3 big strobe lights only have 24 high powered bulbs. the art in this grand palace of rest is amazing. They have peices from great artist like Costcoing and WalMartin. The fireplace is modern and sleek, just how a great palace would have. The map is too good. The floors are not real hardwood but they look sleek and modern just like this hotel. The walls i would describe as brown. This elevAtor is only the smoothest. The minifridge is cool as i am standing next to one at the moment. The lamp is so good it is to die for.the rolly chair is the best my dxracer 303 cannot come close to the quality. The phone fits in well. I LOVE THE COFFE MACHINE. It comes with a flashlight just in case it gets dark. My room veiw is CRAZY NICE. The garbage can in the room is conventent and finna woke. The bathroom accesories are modern. Everything has wood or metal accents. The ac is too good. The ps4 does not come with the room but the clothing rack does. Overall best room. read more
