We would religiously stay at this hotel when we come up to visit family. Usually stay for 10 days and even put up with the remodeling. We stayed in February for my husband's birthday reunion with family. Each night we counted AT LEAST 23 work trucks that took up most parking spots. The two handicapped spots were taken by two Range Rover which one never had the appropriate handicap placard. With my husband's two knee replacements and I with 3 back surgeries, we never could find a spot to park our brand new vehicle. The inside of the hotel stunk from weed it made your eyes water. In the mornings, there were small empty wine bottles lying around. The rooms were not as clean as they used to be. Each time we asked about the parking the staff pushed us off and none of them ever had answers for anything. Although very clean most of the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. My room the shower pan is cracked and fixed with tape. As I was showering I was afraid I would fall through the floor because I can feel the tape giving way. In addition, the water is luke warm at best. My mattress was equivalent to sleeping on a trampoline with a bedsheet on it. My mother's room smelled strongly of cat urine. The free breakfast is lousy!! Just stay anywhere else, even your car would be better. read more

Ray at the front desk is a 5/5. He's hilarious yet professional and welcoming. He offered great recommendations of local restaurants. The hotel is in a convenient location. The hotel itself is in dire need of renovation. The carpet and furniture are old and out of date. I considered checking out and finding another hotel but after a long day of travel, I didn't have the energy. The rooms like more on par of a motel. I checked for bed bugs and didn't find any. I did not use the shower because it looked old and dirty. Mold was visible on bathroom wall tile and behind the wallpaper. My sinuses were congested and I had a headache from staying here. Thankfully I didn't stay longer than 24hrs. I do not recommend this place. read more

Not good. Not good at all. Stay away until this property has a massive overhaul and renovation. Disclaimer: this is NOT a reflection of the staff, primarily the woman at the front desk. She was friendly, accomodating, and was doing the best she could. She as the only employee i saw the entire time. Parking lot looked like downtown Mogadishu. Trash, broken concrete, and stuff all over the place. The elevator floor was soaking wet and there was a pile of wet towels in the corner of the elevator. I got to my room and it REEKED like weed. Literally as if someone was smoking a blunt right at that moment. The room was gross. Everything was old and worn and gross. I was staying with my wife, 18 month old, 3 year old, and 7 year old and it was unacceptable. We asked to change rooms and they switched us. We got to our new room that smelled like ciggerates. The carpet was absolutely shredded and there were burn marks all over the room. The couch looked like something that spent a decade on the front porch of someones house. My entire family slept in the same bed except for the baby that we brought a pack-n-play for. It was foul. I sent pictures to Marriott and they agreed the experience was horrendous. Whoever owns this property needs to do better. read more

The only thing that's saving hotel this from getting fewer stars is its price point. You can't expect a 5-star hotel at a 1-star price point. The big positive is the staff (other than the one who's responsible for keeping the breakfast stocked). Even the guy checking the chemical levels of the pool while the kiddos were swimming was friendly. The rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment. The carpet is old. The heater/AC is even older. You can get heat, but it's just going to run until you get up and turn it off. Then get up to turn it back on when the room gets cold again. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat again. The sleeper sofa is weird. It's more like a trundle bed, except even trundle beds are higher off the floor than the mattress on the sofa is. Kiddo ended up just sleeping on the sofa without pulling the mattress out. It's also odd that there's no TV over in the area where the sleeper sofa is. There's only one small one by the beds on the other side of the divider wall. Shower was hot, which is a plus, but the water pressure left something to be desired. The toilet seat needs replacing. It kept sliding. The worst part of the stay was the breakfast. This one was sadly lacking. There's no waffle makers, so no waffles. There's also no pastries like donuts or Danishes. I got the next to the last English muffin. There were a lot of toppings for the toast, bagels, or muffins like peanut butter, strawberry jam, grape jam, cream cheese, and butter, but nothing to toast to spread it on. I also got the last of the cereal. Not that it mattered, though, because there wasn't any white milk to put on it, just chocolate and some kind of dairy-free milk (sorry, but if there's no dairy, it's not milk). The container for hot water on the coffee stand was empty, too. We sat and waited...and waited...and waited for the items to be replenished, but they weren't. Finally, after about 15 minutes, we just left....hungry. I get that this is an inexpensive hotel, but if you say you're going to do something, then do it right. I've stayed in other Springhill Suites and they've had much better breakfast buffets. We'll try someplace else next time. read more

I wanted to stay on the outskirts of Pittsburgh to avoid traffic concerns and this Spring Hills Suites by Marriott popped up on Yelp. The reviews were actually good for the most part and the location was pretty close to a major mall. The check in was fine, the room was very clean, and the fitness center was older than others with 15 plus old equipment but everything was functional. Breakfast was fine, and the staff was very efficient this morning, replacing food items in a timely manner. Overall, it was a good stay at this hotel. read more

I was in my old home town to visit family for the holiday. I decided to book here for the stay. I booked online and arrived at the hotel. I was greeted and given my keys to the room. The assistant was friendly and kind. The room had a sitting area with a couch, a bed separated by a wall and a kitchen. They also had a TV and free wifi. The place was clean overall. However, I did notice hairs all over the bathroom floor and some still in the tub. Maybe it was from the staff. I am not sure but I will give the benefit of the doubt. I also made use of the exercise room which is always nice. There is also a pool but I did not get a chance to use that. Maybe next time as I do plan to more than likely make this my go to spot when I'm in the area. read more

We live local however as parents we don't get any alone time so we decided to get a hotel here I was so pleasantly surprised at how quaint and friendly the staff and lobby are. Gentleman who booked us in was wonderful we were able to get an early check-in, which was amazing because that is the only time that we would have alone time during regular business hours we can do a couples nap, while we have childcare. Having two children who are very little and both having their own special needs we don't get alone time or much sleep I'm not getting sleep to me clear, so I was able to get a great long nap and I felt amazing. Later bringing the children to go swimming is a giant plus. This is one of the only places that does early check-in, and I am so grateful. So extremely grateful to the gentleman who was so friendly and wonderful at check-in. And when Talked to the lady at the counter this morning. She was really nice too. I will be back definitely and encouraging other parents like us to get some self-care by a stay here. read more

We were moving into a new house and the painter wasn't ready on time. In a pinch, I called a few places that had availability and options that would fit two pack n plays. There are a lot of great things about Springhill. It has a convenient location, plenty of parking and modern rooms. I was very pleased with every step of our experience. I called to get the room (so I could ensure room for the pack n plays) and the employee was very friendly. She even checked various items (military status, aaa member etc) to get us the best rate. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was clean and well equipped. In fact, there were bottles of baby shampoo on the counter with the other shampoos because they had noted the babies on our reservation. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Extra towels were delivered quickly and every employee I encountered smiled and said hi. Beds were comfortable and clean. I slept on the pull out and was pleasantly surprised that it was even comfortable. Breakfast was a nice feature. There was a nice selection of both cold and hot selections. Dry cereal, bagels, bread and croissants along with yogurt. Hot options included ham, sausage and scrambled eggs. The breakfast staff was helpful pointing out a large table in the back that worked well for families. We didn't use it, but there is a pool in the hotel as well. The one downside is that many of the rooms have a view of the turnpike toll gate. The rooms must be well insulated because you heat very little noise from it. Overall, a nice hotel, especially for the price. It's a place I will recommend when my family and friends come to town. read more

Absolutely poor and not up to my expectations when it comes to Marriott properties. All the drains are too slow and your lucky if the toilet flushes. Crappy layout in the room and poor tv placement. Then plenty of pillows, to make up for the awful uncomfortable mattresses. If we were not so exhausted , probably would not have been able to sleep. The Comfort Inn across the street is better. We paid for two nights but only stayed one Because it really was not good and the front desk didn't even question why we were leaving early? read more

This is our new go-to hotel in Monroeville, as we've stayed at this location the past two years we've visited for our annual military show. Of course, after you've been driving for 22 hours, It's always a welcome sight. As if the free hot continental breakfast isn't enough, there are warm cookies and steaming cappuccinos waiting in the lobby for you after a long day at work, as well as flavored ice water and fresh fruit. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, clean and comforting. Plenty of pillows, free wi-fi and a mini fridge for convenience. Two thumbs up! read more

We stayed at the Monroeville SpringHill Suites many times over the last three years. What we've seen is a steady decline in the cleanliness of the rooms. On this past stay in May 2020, we were put in a suite that had scraps of dirt on an already dirty carpet, toothpaste splatters on the bathroom mirror (likewise the full length mirror), a tub that had built up scum, a dilapidated cabinet that housed the refrigerator to mention the worst of it all. The people at the registration desk were the best part of our stay as they were friendly enough to move us to another room. This second room was almost a mirror image of the first. I didn't notice it with the lights mostly off. Here again the front desk was helpful. They came up and vacuumed. I used the Clorax cleaner I brought with me to wipe down the things I could. We were also given a bunch of Bonvoy points to make up for the problem. COVID-19 or not, the place should shine. I don't think we'll stay at that Springhill Suites again. read more

Terrible hotel, several lights and the room phone did not work. Had to ask for toliet paper as there was only a few sheets on the roll. I understand not stocking in every room due to covid but if roll was almost gone leave an additional roll for guests. Rooms next to us had a big party starting at around 5pm the music blaring thru walls called down using my cell since no room phone to speak to manager around 9pm so my small children could sleep they quieted for about 30 minutes and moved thier party outside into hallway screaming and yelling obscene things waking my children around 1030. Now i have a 3 year old asking me what p*ssy means and why are they screaming it. My husband politely asked them if they could please quiet down and was called racist. The night clerk came up probably because they didnt have a phone either and they slammed door in her face finally got my children to sleep at around midnight when they finally quieted down and left or god knows what. Will not be staying here again, was told nothing they could do for me since i booked thru priceline and priceline said nothing they could do either except not book thru this hotel again. Will never book Springhill suites again apparently its aprty central and manager acted as if i lied about what went on in hotel. read more

Pros: Breakfast - The waffles seemed to be a big hit. I really enjoyed the oatmeal with granola mixed in. Both treadmills in the gym were functioning well. Staff were incredibly friendly and were able to loan us out scissors and playing cards when we needed them. We had tasty fresh cookies on check-in. We definitely appreciated all of these things! Cons: More consistent service would be great. We stayed here 5 nights and had 2 rooms. In those 5 nights, one of the rooms was only cleaned twice despite asking frequently to have the room cleaned. The other was cleaned 4 times, and they were right down the hall from each other! The rooms were very warm and dry (uncomfortably so). Breakfast - It was very crowded with lots of families. Find another place to stay! Absolutely disgusting! The room had not been cleaned in months, we had to wipe everything down ourselves. The lobby and elevator smelt like pot, the room smelt awful! They refused to honor current prices or discounts. For $129 a night and a Marriott I expected more. I get that times are tough during COVID but they have taken it as an excuse to slack off responsibilities and are in no way protecting anyone against the spread. Do yourself a favor and run. Do not stay here!! Marriott take notice and shut this place down. read more

Service is generally OK. I've been staying here Monday through Friday for about six weeks. Staff is mostly friendly and helpful. The housekeeper forgot to close my door after cleaning one night- so it was left propped open all day while I was at work with my stuff inside. On several occasions my sheets had holes in them...really? You don't notice that when you make the bed? Today the bedspread I was given has fecal matter spread over it (see picture). Rooms are worn. Carpets are stained. Walls are stained (blood stained bathroom wall in one room), dirty chipped tubs. Typically poorly cleaned (hair still in the shower from past guests and urine sometimes on the toilets from past guests). Evening desk staff are wonderful. In the morning there is often no one at the desk to check you out, which is frustrating when you're trying to hit the road. Coffee packs, plastic ware, toilet paper are not restocked regularly. Rooms are left too hot- today it was set to 78 degrees. Breakfast is not served early enough for me to be able to eat before work so I can't comment there. The only cream available in room is dry powdered "cream." I wish they would use a different type of coffee brewer so that I could provide my own coffee when I stay for extended times. A Keurig would be helpful. Two of the six weeks I have stayed the refrigerators I had were frozen over with ice. This is frustrating because I could not eat my leftover dinner salad the next day- everything was frozen including the cream I brought from home by the next morning. read more

I always have a great stay and I always find a good deal. I like the fact it's close to the PA turnpike and within walking distance to a lot of food places. The staff is always friendly and the place is clean. They always have comp coffee and water. Nice workout area and pool too read more

The room was well stocked, clean, great bed could not ask for a better room. The only negative was the scrambled eggs and sausage at the breakfast bar. The scrambled eggs were floating in water and had a gritty taste similar to that of powdered eggs. The sausage had absolutely no flavor and after cutting the sausage and waiting a small interval of time while I ate my waffle (wonderful) the sausage became so hard I could not even get the tines of my fork into the meat. The sausage had a consistency of meat with a high level of corn meal as a filler. Also, it appeared as if the steam tables were up to temp. Decent place to stay at a reasonable price. In need of some updates as the breakfast area shows signs of wear and the flow is very congested when busy. The room was clean and nicely furnished. Bathroom could've used a little help. The bed was pretty comfortable with no saggy old mattress. With some updating and a better breakfast this place would be a great stay. Stayed 1 night in October before the Steelers/Patriots game. Prepaid using Amex rewards. Arrived around 1 & luckily we were able to do early check-in. The guy at the front desk was very nice & check-in was fast. I gave my credit card for incidentals & we were on our way. Room was clean & perfect for what we needed. Free parking is always a plus & the hotel is approximately 25 minutes to Heinz Field. There are a ton of restaurants in the area plus shopping. Hotel includes complimentary continental breakfast. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is when I checked my Amex the day after we got home, the hotel charged me for the stay. When I called, I was told they made a mistake & realized that it was prepaid & I would be refunded. After a week, I still wasn't refunded & called again. Apparently they refunded Amex rewards & not me. That didn't make sense, but I finally did get my refund, even though it took over 2 weeks. I would be hesitant to stay here again based on the hassle of having to get refunded, but overall the hotel is a good location if you are going to a Steelers game. read more

We came from the DMV during a severe snowstorm Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning on Hwy 70 and 76. Our reservations were for Wednesday through Friday which meant checking in at 3 PM but the very nice desk clerk let us check in early! :-) We rested and then went over to case out the Westin Convention Center for a NSBE robotics competition being held the next day, and having that full day of rest was so good. The bed linen was clean even with the comforters on top being white. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with the usual toiletries and the rest of the room was clean including the carpet. We surely got our money's worth staying outside of Pittsburgh instead of a much more expensive downtown hotel and this was with four of us (a double and a pull out sofa bed). Breakfast was outstanding though on the first morning of our visit I did not make it down and preferred to sleep in. Corey puts out the complimentary breakfast every morning and she was very efficient with replenishing the eggs, muffins, sausage, etc and everything was very tasty, delicious, and fresh. Even the coffee was superb and always present in the lobby. Corey is also very friendly and a great conversationalist. She is truly an asset to the hotel experience. I could not believe how delicious the coffee was in those silver dispensers and everyday and all day there is lemon infused water in the lobby. Daugherty Street on the first day, was full of ice and it was difficult getting up the hill to the hotel but the parking lot was cleared and the traffic from Monroeville through the tunnel on 376 during rush hour were the only negative findings and they have nothing to do with our otherwise pleasant stay. So I give it 5 stars! read more

We will never stay here again! King rooms do not have any room to walk at the end of the bed! Looked at several and wound up in a handicap room so that we don't walk into the closet wall in the middle of the night! Then first day...no maid service at all and today I had to ask for it! This hotel has really gone downhill. The rugs are dirty and stained, the furniture is stained, the room is worn and dirty, the tub is chipped, and the place looks really run down. We stayed here a couple of years ago and it was okay. Now it isn't even worth half the price they're charging. We won't be staying here again! read more

The staff churn is suprisingly low for a hotel and the staff has always been very friendly and helpful, especially Amanda and Rene at the front desk. Upon arrival room was ready but tub stopper didn't work, called for repair and it was fixed promptly, day 1 room was cleaned and restocked, day 2 room wasn't cleaned or restocked, day 3 had to call down for coffee packets, day 4 room was vacuumed and bed made but no bath mat, towels were removed but tub was dirty and coffee area wasn't restocked again, called down again.
