Sometimes appearance isn't what it seems. The hotel is beautiful from the outside and in the lobby, but that's it. I had high expectations for this hotel considering its age and not that old. I am extremely disappointed with the cleanliness, lack of basic services, extremely poor breakfast options, and the absence of front desk employees. It was great to be recognized and thanked upon check in by the desk agent for being an Ambassador Elite Member, but beyond that, status meant nothing. The first room I was given was room #402. The room was not properly cleaned. The carpet had not been vacuumed and there were a lot of dead bugs on the window seal. The sofa pillows were stained so bad and extremely dirty, I had to turn them over. I went down and requested a vacuum. They came up and vacuumed the carpet withing 15 minutes of my request. The next morning, I found several live bugs crawling on the wall in the closet. I immediately removed all my clothes from the closet. I brought my concerns to the morning desk clerk around 6:45 AM and I requested another room. He did not seem to care much (even after showing him photos of the bugs) and told me "When I return in the evening, let the desk agent know and they will try to find me another room. When I arrived back later in the evening after work, I expressed my concerns again to the front desk clerk and requested another room. She did not seem so happy with my request. After showing her the photos of the bugs, her words were "oh, that's just lady bugs". I don't care what kind of bugs they are; I didn't want them in my room. She gave me room #113 right next to the mechanical room. This room was very noisy, especially around 4:00 - 4:30 AM when the breakfast attendant arrived. Every morning, I could hear was doors slamming as she or someone else went in and out of the mechanical room. Also, the conversation between her and others was very loud. I did not sleep much. This room was also not properly cleaned. There was a used coffee on the counter and a used single serve coffee k-cup in the coffee maker. The lock / door handle had a malfunction and entering and exiting the room was extremely difficult. To get in and out of the room, I had to turn and lift on the door and handle at the same time. The tiles are coming off the wall in the bathroom. The iron had black stuff caked to it, therefore, I could not use the iron. I guess the icing on the cake was, I stayed a total of 5 nights, and never received housekeeping service. Somone did come into the room and leave fresh towels, but did not remove the dirty towels, nor did they do a room refresh. Breakfast was the worst that I have ever experienced at Springhill Suites. First, the eggs looked horrible, under cooked, and piled so high, the quality sucked. No regular milk for cereal. As an Ambassador Elite Member, I am disappointed with the lack of attention to the basic needs of the guest.

Hole in the entry door.

We stayed here for one night over New Years Eve. This hotel is in a great area with lots of…read morerestaurants near by. It was a short drive to the riverfront in Montgomery. Check in was easy. Free breakfast is included, but we didn't wake up in time. Check out is at noon, but housekeeping started knocking on our door at 9:30. I was not happy about that. They know when people check out. That was quite rude. Also, the smoke alarm in our room was damaged/ broken. We were able to bring our dog with us for a $75 fee.

This hotel is in pretty good condition. But I experienced a lot of problems on this visit. First of…read moreall, I chose this hotel because they have cooking options like an induction cooker you can use in your room and a barbecue grill. But on my visit I was told they don't offer the cooker at this location. Then they said the barbecue grills wasn't working. One day, I asked a few extra hangars...front desk said they didn't have any. Next, the fitness center was missing some free weights. There wasn't a "do not disturb" sign for my room so housekeeping kept servicing my room daily...well...they came in and just made my bed. But it wasn't even close to being made with any care...haphazardly would be a better description. Coffee cups (paper) we're not replaced until I specifically asked for them. One morning I went down for breakfast. There was cereal but no milk! The parking lot always seemed to be packed every night...so I guess business is good. And there are lots of food options nearby. Breakfast could definitely be better here. Overall, the staff was pretty nice. I did like that they started breakfast every day at 6:00 a.m. including on the weekends. Hopefully, the issues I experienced can be corrected soon. Until then, this won't be my first choice the next time I'm working in this area.

Hotel staff are quite pleasant and courteous. Breakfast (as it was the last time) was a big "miss" and not worth trying. Last time we tried it near the end of morning service. (Bad) This time, we tried it in the middle of service and I took one photo that kinda tells it all. Biscuit nearly as hard as a rock. (I was able to break off the top quarter...but did not eat it. Just too dang hard!) Sausage link - meh. Egg...just never mind. We opted to swing by Mickey D's on our way out of town. BUT...we did not choose this hotel for the breakfast. We did choose it for convenience, comfort, and cost (reasonable). So 3 steady stars. But, unlikely to stay here for a 3rd time.

My…read morehusband and I booked a one-night hotel stay for our son, who planned to arrive in Montgomery for a college visit. The day that our son was to check in, I received a call from one of the staff members stating that our reservation would be canceled because our son is 19 years old, and the age requirement is 21 years old. I explained to the staff member that we received confirmation the night before that it would be allowable for our son to stay the night at the hotel without our presence (we reside in Atlanta). After speaking with the staff member, it was determined that our hotel reservation was booked using AI, which we were unaware of. Even still, the hotel refused to accommodate our son and canceled the reservation. Although upsetting, the staff member assured me that we would be fully-refunded. Thankfully, Hotel Preston saved the day by allowing our son to book with them, and he received a scholarship to attend the university he visited! Two days later, I called the hotel to check the status of our refund, and I was told that we would not receive a refund. I was LIVID. I called the credit card company and submitted a fraud complaint against the hotel. The refund was processed the same day. I am disgusted with this property for attempting to keep our payment. We will never even consider staying here in the near future! Hotel Preston for the win!

I stayed one night on 6-2-26, while relocating cross country…read more Pros: * Very clean: I didn't experience unclean rooms like others did below 1-3 yrs ago... maybe I just lucked out or maybe they did some renovations. My room was fairly updated & even though I left my slippers in the car & didn't want to retrieve them after 10-hrs of driving, walking with white socks didn't get them dirty, so the carpeting was nice & clean, too... rare, in my experience, no matter how upscale the hotel. * There's a nice outdoor pool in the front of the hotel. Not big enough for laps but it is deep. The afternoon I arrived, it was boiling hot & filled with about 6 teen boys having a good time & a few girls soaking in the sun, so, it's nice that it looks as if it gets well used. * I missed the 9am breakfast deadline, so don't know what they serve. There was probably coffee, but I didn't see any drinks at all & travel with my own espresso machine, cuz I'm fancy like that ;) so I had my own thermos of dark, boot-glue, black brew. * Comfy mattress, lots of pillows. In-room m/w, mini-fridge & small coffee maker. * Toiletries like shampoo, conditioner & body lotion are mounted on the walls, which is convenient. They're okay. Note that the tub is slippery, so you'll need to toss a hand towel on the shower floor as there's no mat. * There's a Chick-fil-A & Whataburger just up the road & a McD's next door that you pass before getting back onto Hwy 65, if you didn't catch breakfast. I stopped at McD's for their $3/2 sausage McMuffins special, which was nice. * It's a quiet, safe area, so you'll get a good night's sleep here. Cons: * Cost. It was almost $200/nt. I was told it was $160, which was higher than I saw online & the $30+ charges were for incidentals & would fall off in the morning, which didn't make sense cuz there are no mini-bars in these hotels. Turns out they're for all sorts of silly taxes... county, city, state & 2-3 more. I was a bit annoyed at being given the wrong price. There was an older man & older woman at the desk. Seems like he was training her but he wasn't accurate & she kept saying goofy things, like saying the extra charges were in case I brought a giraffe into the room. He'd laugh nervously when she'd joke around, but huh? What are you on? I just wanna go to my room after 10-hrs of driving, hold the jokes & the personal q's, please. After I saw my bill, they also forgot to give me the 10% AAA discount, but it's too late now. * Not a lot of TV channels. It's more like a Smart TV but you can sign into your YTube or Netflix account, if you have them. Good to Know: * The parking spaces are over a median & about 20-steps from the door. I saw an older woman with a full luggage cart moving slowly to the door. They have plenty of handicap spaces right next to the door but they were all taken by afternoon. Fortunately, the elevator is right around the corner from the front desk. You have to pass the front desk or enter through the back door where there's more parking to get to your room. Just an FYI should you be mobility restricted. This was my 2nd stay at this hotel. I was passing through 3-4 yrs ago & stayed & it was equally as pleasant but not as pricey. There are cheaper hotels in the area so if I passed through again, I would try another (I never want to pay $200/nt for any room, especially when I'm just showering, sleeping & leaving), although aside from price, the room/hotel is nice. 3* out of 5. -1* for higher price. -1* for the annoying front desk folks & their lack of correct info. As an aside, I did speak to someone at the hotel's # when I called about my bill to enquire why the $30 "incidentals" charge wasn't refunded & the agent said she'd pass on my slight miff with their customer service & to address training. Will it be done? Who knows, but I'd recommend others do that, too, since online reviews are helpful to consumers but I'm unsure much of this info gets to corporate or the bosses who need to see it.
