I stayed for two weeks the first half of May. During that time my room was cleaned regularly and the linens were changed. Everyone was pretty friendly. The breakfast bar was clean and there was a decent amount of food for breakfast. They also had oat milk. It's the usual hotel continental breakfasts nothing out of the ordinary. I don't understand why everyone expects a lot for hotel breakfasts My only con is the carpet could use cleaning. read more

Since Tallahassee is a big college town, it's difficult finding a nice hotel at the start of the semester. I usually always try to stick with Marriott's, so we gave this SpringHill Suites a try. The positive is that the room was clean and very spacious. They also serve a nice, complimentary breakfast. It's a bit of a strange setup in that the shower is in a separate room from the bathroom. It's fine, except that the doors have frosted glass which makes the room very bright if someone gets up at night. The main problem was that the toilet wasn't working properly. We had to ask a couple of times before someone came to fix it. The hotel is in a good location. Would we stay here again? Probably. It's not easy finding good hotels in this city and all in all, it wasn't terrible. read more

This hotel has 5 star employees! Everyone from late checkin clerk to ground maintenance was super friendly and professional. The hotel itself is just normal- probably more 3 or 4 star the rooms are a little dated and beds need replaced. It's not near interstate so fairly quiet. read more

Hotel is nice and staff is friendly and professional. We were a little disappointed at the HIGH cost and price increase because of graduation week seemed a bit abusive for the type of property. Furthermore the odor in the room was just unbearable. Considering the price and the odor in the room that would not go away we were really disappointed. The breakfast is excellent and although they say continental, it's more of an upgrade since they also offer waffles and much more. The staff was helpful and gave us a commercial air freshener bottle to use for the room but it was temporary. Seems like the odor was coming from the AC. One employee admitted that the AC were old tend to release the odor. I would recommend they consider using better air neutralizers. Parking is free and easily accessible. read more

This hotel seems to have gone downhill since I last reviewed it several years ago. My last review came just after the place was freshly renovated, but after a few years the hotel is already feeling aged and the general upkeep lacking. The lobby is in great shape, but the carpet through the floors and rooms needs regular cleaning, as well as the furniture in the rooms. The rooms and overall amenities have not changed - it is still a decent room with a good variety of spaces for relaxing, working, and resting. However, I have stayed there several times over the last few months and I have had cleanliness issues with my room every time. It has not been anything that would make me complain or change rooms, but I have had mold in one of the showers, furniture in the room with visible food stains, and overall lack of detail to basic cleanliness. Even more aggravating is that the rooms have poor air conditioning, which is frustrating in Florida during the summer. The last few times I stayed here the thermostat was set at 75 degrees when I arrived in the evening - cranking it down to 65 might drop the interior temperature 1-2 degrees maximum over the course of the night. The hallways are nicely cooled, but immediately stepping into a 75 degree room you can feel the humidity hit you. The positives are that they stay on top of the hot coffee available 24/7 in the lobby and the general area around the hotel is fairly quiet. Breakfast is just not good (my last stay I could not take more than a bit of the eggs). It might be OK as one of the better "cheap" hotels in the area, but don't expect much. read more

First time staying here in this hotel. It was ok just use to bit off something g different from Marriott hotels. Only issue I had was carpet could use a facelift and the rooms were nice and roomy but had a issue with the ac not working. But could not change rooms due to rooms not cleaned yet and others reserved. But I was no the only one another guest was complaining also about the AC but. And for some reason I'm sure the ac above me was leaking because I had this big wet spot on the ceiling. read more

Staff goes above and beyond and is soooo friendly!!! An example of such amazingness would be the fact that I had a package delivered to the hotel for work. Since the doors were locked and the manager only had access to the back room, and the fact I had to leave the hotel by 9am, the manager came in an hour + early that day to help find my package- and he was very nice about it. The hotel staff that morning was also super friendly and the staff when I checked in. The rooms are huge, new, and the bed was super comfortable. I didn't really eat the breakfast at this hotel, but they had a huge selection- (I was in a rush). I would definitely stay here again, there are a few shops around the area of the hotel and it's very close to the college campus. Thanks again for all the help! read more

The one star is for the free breakfast and the nice lady at the front desk (she remembered my name). My concerns while staying at Springhill Suites in Tallahassee, Florida on 08/16-08/19. Lets start by saying my flight had changed and I was then unable to check in on the 16th. I called Marriott Bonvoy and advised that could i check in on the 17th. I was advised yes but at a different rate. Thats crazy, i just wanted to change the date. Therefore I had to find someone in Florida to check in for me or I was advised I would lose the whole reservation and be a no show. I had another parent checkin for me since I was traveling from Ca to take my daughter to college. Thanks for making this a more expensive horrible trip. Anyway, I met up with the parent on the 17th and went to the room. The room was filthy and the bed was not made as if someone was staying in there or it was never cleaned. I advised the front desk and was moved immediately. To a room with a non working AC ( in Aug in summer) and a smell coming from the drain in the bathroom. I went down on the 17th and complained after a long exhausting day of moving my child into her college dorm. I advised the manager was not in and would try to find me a different room or fix it. Well the next morning i complained again and advised someone would fix it. I then left early and came back late to a hot sweaty smelly room. For what I paid for this room this is horrible and a disgrace. As a Bonvoy member i try to always stay at the Marriott well I promise this is the very last time.... Our stay at Springhill Suites was brief but sweet. We totally forgot about the time change from central time to eastern so we fast forwarded an hour into the future. We arrived at our room really late and had a good 3 hours of sleep. Parking was challenging, plus if was raining hard. There were no spots so we had to circle around for a while. Check in was okay. The front desk clerk was chatty and just a tad off-putting. Our king room was now unavailable he said even though he also said the system was showing five king rooms. Check in took quite some time. For some reason when we got to our room on the third floor it appeared to be a handicap accessible double beds room. We were too exhausted to worry about it. The room overall was quite nice and very spacious. They had a mini fridge and microwave. Water pressure for showering was okay but the water wasn't quite as hot as I believe it could have gotten. They had Paul Mitchell haircare and toiletries, a definite plus. The room had two bathrooms, one with a sink and shower, and the other with a sink and the toilet. I was pretty impressed with the size of the room. The beds and pillows were really comfy. They also had a sofa sitting area with a desk separate from the the sleeping area. Breakfast was slightly underwhelming. They had three juices, waffle maker, bagels, cereal, fruit and yogurt, one meat which was turkey sausage, eggs, oatmeal, muffins and whole grain bread. They didn't have biscuits and gravy or bacon. I liked that they had spinach out and salsa to make a mini bowl. I made myself a breakfast bowl with eggs, spinach, cheese and salsa. They had a nice coffee set up which I enjoyed Check out was a breeze. They had charged my card as soon as I booked so that I good to go. I don't remember too much about this hotel. What was supposed to be a 7 hour drive, turned into a 14 hour drive. The family and I didn't arrive until 12:45 AM. The parking lot was full. But, they allowed guests to temporarily park in front to check in and unload the car. The front desk clerk quickly checked us in. Although their parking lot was full, they had an agreement with their neighboring property, so that we could park in their lot. Our room had 2 queen beds. The beds were comfortable and gave my family and I a good nights sleep. The room had a work area with a table and couch as you walked into the room and a sleeping area. I liked that the had a toilet and sink in one room, and the shower and another sink in another room. The walls are pretty thin. Our neighbors were up at 1AM talking. They were pretty loud and kept us awake. Unfortunately, it was nothing interesting that they were talking about. Otherwise, I would've listened and not complained. The complimentary breakfast was disappointing. They had the usual scrambled eggs, and sausages. They also had a 2 waffle irons. I don't remember much more about it. Check out was fast and easy. They heard my complaint about noisy neighbors and awarded me with some bonus Marriott points. It's an okay hotel. They almost gave me a good nights sleep. I'd stay here again if I did another 14 hour drive and needed a hotel for the night. read more

We stayed for five days during holiday season visiting the family. I appreciated hip and young vibe through out the hotel, the lobby to the room. Quality of the furniture did look a bit cheap but for the price and the space....I was happy. Having a toilet in a different room with a sink from a shower only bathroom made more comfortable for two especially in the morning. It was like having one and half bath in a room (see my photo). I liked how light reflect nicely around the bathroom mirror. I didn't have a time to enjoy the breakfast at the lounge/bar area in the lobby but it looked okay with very basic stuff, coffee, teas..etc. One morning we needed to stay in late till around Noon and when we came back to the room late that night, the room was not cleaned. That was a huge disappointment. We had to wait for fresh towels before taking shower. Free Wi-Fi in a room was nice gesture if the connection was strong. It went on and off so much so that we couldn't use it so we used our cellphones instead. read more

When I stayed here at this suite I was shocked of what I've seen, there were cockroaches and bedbugs, the bathrooms were dirty, and so were their beds. Please do not go to this suite I do not recommend, I got bit by the bedbugs. And their snacks are overpriced at the lobby. When I had an allergic reaction they gave me milk and ice. I'd call this place barely a 2 star. Room wasn't as clean as it should be. Left over confetti from the person before us. Bed is hard. Water took 10 minutes to get barely warm enough to get in. Couch is dirty. Breakfast was a joke. Basic cereal, a couple yogurts, 1 single pastry until we had to ask them to put out something else out and they found some muffins to put out They are using covid as an excuse to be cheap. Not even a single banana or piece of fruit. I'm sure they could bag them up so they aren't "exposed". Seems to not be an issue at grocery stores.... One of the only reasons I choose this place was because they had breakfast. So now I guess we'll just have to go get breakfast somewhere.... also the pool was closed which was very disappointing especially on an 80+ degree day. read more

I travel sometimes and I want a good nights' sleep. I'm not all into the fancy Schmancy stuff just a comfortable Bed and hot running water. Springhill Suites did it for me. Upon checking in the staff was great and had a great sense of humor. The lobby is spectacular but I just wanted the room. Great location and not too far from the colleges and universities. I stayed here during my orientation at one of the colleges in Tallahassee. To me, it's the most affordable compared to the other hotels in Tally. But mind you, I went to Tally during the spring so prices will fluctuate with the seasons/events in the area (EX: I recently checked for August and the price went up, so it is out of my budget now). The room I stayed in was overall nice and clean, the bathroom was mostly clean except for a small speck of mold I found on the roof of the shower (but barely noticeable unless you really look). Overall, I'm not picky on hotels as long as it's safe and clean for the most part. If you're like me, then this is the place. note: There's a complimentary breakfast if you're into that. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. We booked a room with two queen sized beds weeks in advance. We got there and they told us their system is down so they were unable to provide us a room that we booked because they couldn't check on their computers. They talked to us as if we were in the wrong for their company mess up. Do not stay here or book ANYTHING through them. read more

What the heck happened ? I've stayed here numerous times in the past. I've always enjoyed this hotel. Clean, close to where I need to be. They take the pandemic seriously. For the most part, good hotel Last night, I was hot boxed in my room from around 8 to 11. It was the strongest odor of weed I'd smelled since college. At 11, it was so strong that I reported it to the front desk. I don't care what someone does on their own time but when it leaks into my room and the permeates my clothes, it's a big deal. I am consistently unimpressed with all of the Marriott properties in Tally. I stay here for work and for pleasure and I cannot find a good, clean hotel. I am a loyal Marriott member but every visit here makes me rethink my brand loyalty. Last trip to this SpringHill suites I received a cold welcome, no acknowledgment of my Titanium status and no welcome gift. When I went to the front desk to remind them that the welcome gift was backed by cash, they had "no idea" what I was talking about and the manager took so long to get back to me that I had to leave for work before she came to talk to me. This stay, the mirror lights in both bathrooms were out and upon calling maintenance for new bulbs, was told they "didn't have any." So, I put my make up on the dark. I'm sure I was looking good! Our toilet clogged twice, we had ants in the room, and the bed was slim and hard. I guess this is my fault for giving this property another chance after the 1st stay. Next time ... Our typical hotel was unavailable for the stay so we tried the SpringHill Suites because of it's prime location for a meeting we had nearby. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was courteous and friendly and rooms spacious -- and for less than our normal hotel! There isn't a restaurant or hotel lobby bar, but they have a great selection of snacks available. And if you forget toothpaste? Don't worry, they have you covered with samples and saved everyone in my party some "clean air". The exercise room is a bit tight, but nothing unusual for a hotel. Your typical treadmills (2) and bike. You won't have enough room to do crunches or yogo if there are other people in there, although it certainly gets the job done. May have to add this one to the mix for future Tallahassee trips. read more

The only reason I am giving this hotel 2 stars instead of 0 is the front desk staff. All of the employees that I encountered up there were fantastic... other then that it was an absolute disaster. After a long flight from Denver full of delays I was ready to relax in what used to be my favorite chain of hotels. As frequent business traveler it's nice to have things that you can rely on while on the road. National Car Rentals, Waffle Houses, and cheep gas station beer. Upon arrival I was greeted and asked for my ID and Credit Card. Normally I just pay the authorization for incidentals and my company has a card on file for the rest. I wasn't asked, and maybe it's my fault for assuming, but the woman at the counter swiped my visa for the entire amount due for the room. After realizing the mistake and calling my bank there was nothing anyone could do. My entire per-diem check for the week... gone. She was just as upset as I was and apologized a million times. She was gracious in her mistake and was still polite through the process. I was told by several employees including the manager Tony, more on that gem later, that it would fall off and in three days i'd have my money back. It has been four days and the authorization still hasn't fallen off. So tired I didn't have the energy to fight it anymore I was off to dream land without realizing the disaster that awaited me in the sunlight. When I woke up, freezing, I was playing with the AC and in the corner of the room was some 13yr old's crusty, used, playboy sock. Just sitting there. Who knows how long it has been there. The headboard looked like it had lost a gun fight and the shower was full of mold and hair that was 10" longer then mine. That was the final straw. I gathered my things, requested to check out and asked to speak with the manager. In walks Tony. Wearing his dads suit to his first homecoming dance with a handshake firm as a water balloon he introduced himself. I showed him all the issues I had with the room and he told me they were unacceptable and like most managers, didn't know how they happened. He said he has fixed these issues before by simply calling the bank and requesting the authorization be reversed. I left him with my bank info and phone number and he said he would call them, then me to let me know it had been fixed. He apologized and after realizing I was a FREQUENT business traveler who had another 6 day stay booked there the following week offered more solutions. He said he was going to add points to my account for a free stay so I could come back, he has "fixed these bank issues before" and he'd do mine and yadah yadah yadah. What's most upsetting isn't STILL having my bank issue fixed, it's not the points that were NEVER put onto my account... it's the fact he couldn't bother to call. Even if he would of called and told me there was nothing he could do I would of been happy. I canceled my reservation for next week and will be canceling all future Marriott stays. I travel around the country as a corporate leadership and customer service trainer. It's what I've done for over eleven years. Very nice hotel for its price point. Obviously new construction which is well appointed. Rooms are spacious and clean. Free breakfast which goes slightly beyond the continental fare is provided downstairs. Staff was welcoming and accessible during the visit. Will be back again if I need to travel to Tallahassee. Also, this hotel is obviously not a Ritz-Carlton or the like, but in the hundred dollar range it doesn't get much better than this. read more

Stayed there because my wife was having surgery the next day. The room was nice. The colors are refreshing and light. I like the separated toilet and sink from the shower area. TV did not work at first but someone from front desk did come up and fix it. There are a few old stains on the sofa and the carpet but over all the place is clean. In the morning there was a smell coming from the area near the AC but we could not pin point what is was. The location of the hotel was not ideal but we are still able to get where we were going so I can't really complain about that. They do offer free breakfast. It was a good variety. read more

This is a new one for us, and was a welcome change from the worn out fleabags we can usually afford during a football weekend. We received a courteous welcome during our June 2010 stay and would quite gladly return on another occasion. I've visited here before and had a great experience. It seems things have taken a turn for the worse here. Check-in was fast and easy. The receptionist was friendly, gave me info on the hotel and areas nearby. The lobby was clean and modern. We took the elevator to our room on the 4th floor. The elevators were very slow. The room was bright and cheery. It was open. It has a great desk area, a couch with 2 moveable tables to eat on, a small fridge and microwave. The bedroom is separated by a partition. The toilet is in a washroom separate from the shower, which is nice. The shower was open. The water had good pressure. The shower iamb was starting to come apart and there was some mold in the shower. The water temps weren't regulated appropriately and the water could be scalding hot if you didn't test it first. The bed was comfy. There was only 1 feather pillow. I'd prefer ask down pillows. The television was placed conveniently. The hotel was quiet at night and we were able to rest comfortably. Breakfast was fine. They had scrambled eggs, sausage, fruits, waffles, etc. Everything you'd expect. The breakfast area was clean and plentiful. The internet was impossibly slow at night. Check out was also easy. We got a late check out for 1. Parking was non-existent. The main lot was full quickly and we had to park in a low light satellite lot. It wasn't ideal. Lastly, I forgot my glasses at the hotel. I called back to all the front desk clerk about this and he refused to check to see if they had them. He told me to call housekeeping the following day and was not helpful. read more

I never review hotels, but I had such an excellent stay here, and it was such a contrast to the Fairfield we stayed in next, that I decided to jump on yelp and shout from the rooftops about it! I'm not sure if they were recently renovated but it looks great inside. The light is soft and forgiving, and the room darkening drapes actually work. The people were nice, the breakfast was standard, and the pool is small but enough for my needs. There was no noise from the neighbors and everything was clean. I doubt if I'll be back to Tallahassee, but if I do come back I know where to stay! read more

If your main concern is an economically priced hotel, this place is fine. The staff is very friendly but the amenities are not quite up to par. The wi-fi didn't work the entire time we were there. The rooms are quite spacious, so that is definitely a plus for a family of 5 traveling. They are very outdated and the beds are not very comfortable at all. We had to use the pull-out sofa, which was almost unbearable to sleep on. There bathrooms seemed fairly clean but were just dingy. They do offer a free breakfast, which was adequate. As I said, for the price, it wasn't bad. If I was staying for more than a night, I wouldn't stay here. read more
