Came here M-Thursday for a short getaway. Located in a sizable strip mall. Park in the front and hop on in for check in. We were able to check in a bit earlier which was nice. Room was very spacious - our daughter loved and slept on the trundle (couch) - she commandeered that whole area. Loved that the television has Netflix preloaded and you can just log in. Microwave and mini-fridge included but we didn't make use of it. The room itself was very spacious. minuses for the room - there's no ventilation in the restroom or separation between the toilet, sink and shower. Makes it hard for families. There's no place to hang used towels- we hung out towels in the large closet. Wish there was more drawer space. We really enjoyed the breakfast - coffee/tea, hots foods (always eggs but everything else alternates - sausage, bacon, potatoes, etc) bagels, toast, 3 choices of cereal, cheese, waffle, and we loved their oatmeal bar! Fresh fruit. I thought the breakfast was a huge win for our stay. Parking is included - we never had a hard time finding a spot - easy to get in and out. The rooms can be loud - we heard some guy on a conference call from his own room! Our daughter still naps in the afternoon and they were very accommodating with our requests to have our room cleaned before 230pm. Room cleaning happens every other day. read more

Lobby is pretty nice and spacious. Great customer service. The attendant is a huge Stitch fan and excited for the upcoming D23 event. The room was awesome. Lots of space, especially in the bathroom. We were able to charge our truck in their underground parking. A large of assortment of restaurants within the same parking lot/shopping center. (We did break that rule of not trying any of those places because we found a phenomenal sushi joint nearby.) We would definitely stay here again. read more

Just had an incredible stay at SpringHill Suites in Lake Forest, California, and I can't recommend it enough! If I could give it 10 stars, I absolutely would. From the moment I checked in, Alex at the front desk made a lasting impression with being courteous, delightful, professional and knowable. The hotel lobby was clean, spacious, and inviting, smelled clean- making for a great first impression. Parking was a breeze with secure, ample spots available. The location is perfect--close to restaurants, shopping, businesses, and easy access to freeways. My room was spacious, clean, and smelled fresh. The air conditioning was effective and quiet. This is the first, and last, time I am staying in this hotel. Chose it for the convenience and it is located in a prime spot and around tens of restaurants so you can just walk to whatever suits taste buds. Nonetheless, here are the issues: Did the mobile check in and expect a mobile key; nothing. Sent a message to the hotel and they told me that "I would have to check in at the front desk before they issued a mobile key"... why? What's the point of having the mobile key feature where you obtain it and head straight to your room. Alas, the system wanted me to stop by at the front desk where the receptionist struggled for 10' to 15' to get me a key. All tools were booked, allegedly, and only after someone else stepped in I got the keys to a room in the second floor despite the fact that in my profile I have it set for a higher floor; I guess Titanium status doesn't really matter. Not a great initial experience, they wouldn't move me to another room alleging all rooms are booked but if I go on the Marriott app I can book a room for tonight... read more

So this hotel is located in a shopping center which seems a little odd but it's not a bad thing. There are tons of restaurants of every type of food imaginable just steps away. That's a huge positive. Underground, gated parking is available although I suppose you could park for free in the shopping center lot. I wouldn't do it. The room was spotless and very quiet. It was a little on the narrow side, almost strangely narrow. The bathroom was large and the walk-in closet was enormous. The hotel is very new, which is always a good thing. However, I suspect they, like so many businesses, have staffing issues. There was trash in the garage and in the stairwell. The trash was there when we arrived and was still there when we left. Service was very friendly and efficient. A complimentary hot breakfast is included. There are eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, etc. It's pretty darn good. My only knock is the trash in the common areas. Let's face it: humans are pigs and happily litter whenever and wherever. But I'd happily stay here again. read more

This has to be one of the best hotel experiences I have had in quite some time! Came here for a short girls' trip and I have to say, Matthew was the best! That super sweet man made our stay pleasant despite the online booking preferences having fallen though for us to have the room we booked for two queens beds! The service here from him made it worthwhile for us to stay here and I never usually have brand loyalty to any hotel because I honestly don't expect amazing service anywhere these days, but I have to say I will be back to this one! They have underground parking with cameras, elevators to get to the floor directly to your room, and clean facilities inside and out. The desk in the room was great for me to work on as well with a comfortable chair and there is streaming on the tv that is free to use for guests. I think overall, this stay was comfortable and it stood out in quality based on service. We also got to leave the room keys for check out and leave directly from the room, which made things more convenient. They offer breakfast and there is a small fitness area too if you want a quick workout loaded with a couple treadmills and free weights. Definitely wanted to give this team kudos and recommend it because I know I will definitely be back. read more

This was our first time staying at this hotel in Orange County and we will definitely stay here again. It's our fault we did not check to see if they had a pool or a restaurant and they do not. However, there are plenty nearby. Within the same parking lot as the hotel, are about six different restaurants that range to fit everyone. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean, and provide everything you could possibly want or need whether you're staying with a family or solo on a work trip. There's a desk in each room, fridge, microwave, and a TV that you can view from the beds, desk, or the cute little living room off to the side. Breakfast is served in the morning and I believe goes until 10 AM. We were there at 9:30 and it was still packed and being stocked. It is very basic, but includes eggs, potatoes, yogurt, fruit, cereal, and a bagel sent her with all the fixings. The staff is super nice and accommodating and again I can't stress how clean this place is! They also have laundry on site and it takes quarters. Do not rely on the front desk for quarters. They did not have any this time 'round. I was advised to check back afternoon. read more

Front desk person was pleasant upon check-in. There were to be two of us staying at this location, each with our own suite, but they had tested positive for COVID 6 days prior and remained home. The door to the room was extremely heavy and no door wedge was available to prop open the door while bringing in the luggage. Two employees were passing and held the door when I was entering. Leaving was another issue. I had requested assistance in my requests sent by the hotel. Nothing I had requested was provided. The entrance to the hotel is through a shopping center and the door is not marked. I had taken Lyft to the hotel and my driver parked, carried in my luggage after finding the entrance. As no one assisted with my two bags and were able to give me the grand tour, I had to troubleshoot the lights at midnight. A cheat sheet would have been helpful. I had requested housekeeping, for removing wet towels and emptying the trash. No one came. Breakfast was mediocre on Sunday, the one morning I had time to try the buffet. There were a a few hot dishes which looked meh, bread and bagel, small chunks of fresh pineapple and apples. Juices, coffee, teabags, waffle maker. No desserts of any kind, which was surprising. Breakfast sweet rolls would have been a good addition. I had brought teabags along and used them in my room. Paper plates, plastic cutlery and paper cups without sleeves for hot beverages is tacky for a Marriott hotel. Recommend staying elsewhere in Lake Forest, as there is an abundance of hotels within a few blocks. read more

This Springhill Suites is new and clean, but needs to work out the smaller problems. -Upon check-in, they had 2 reservations for our family. Original reservation was under one family member's name, but we had called to tell them another family member within our party was going to check-in first. They created a whole new 2nd reservation for our family while the original reservation still existed. That had to be cleared up. We were one family with one reservation for one room. -The television did not work. When it was turned, screen said "Please Wait...". Nothing was loading. Reported on 1st day. 2nd day, person came in & said it was a weak WiFi signal. We complained again & 3rd day, it was fixed. -The thermostat had a fan option. Whether turning it on or turning it to the "off" position, fan never turned on. Air conditioner would go on, but once it reached the desired temperature, it would click off. With no air movement, room got stuffy. So, we would turn on the air conditioner just to get the air movement, would be feeling cold in the room. Asked the front desk & they said that was how the hotel was built. -The glass shower door in our room was not closing all the way. It was leaving a huge gap open. After each shower there would be leaked water outside of the shower on the floor. Had to put rolled towels on the floor to prevent puddles on the bathroom floor. -Water temperature in the shower was just lukewarm. It was like taking cold showers. Turned the handle all the way to Hot & only lukewarm water. Had goosebumps while taking a shower since it was so cool. Complained to the front desk & they said they would turn on another water heater to increase the temperature. After that, water was warmer, but it would be nice to still be a little warmer. Conveniently located with lots of restaurants options around. Secure underground parking! Not too far from freeways. Think this is a great place, but they need to fine-tune and work out the kinks since it is only a few months old. Hoping for better experience the next time we stay here. read more

I haven't really stayed in a hotel where the parking lot is a plaza for other things but hey Starbucks is in it too! I'm not complaining at all because if you didn't have a car there's a lot of walking distance spots to go eat:) and in this economy even with my car I want to save gas I'd stay here again! Very nice hotel, difficult to get into because GPS keeps sending you around the block, located in small plaza with lots of restaurants, room was large and comfortable, bed was nice, large bathroom and sitting area. Back side of the hotel is againt a major street and you do get some noise from the street, Air Conditioning was too loud to leave on while trying to sleep. Breakfast buffet was typical,scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes and fruits, only thing missing was the waffle station. Parking in an underground garage with direct access to the room floors.. I love, love, love staying in a sparkly new hotel and Springhill Suites Irvine Lake Forest has only been around since March 2021. The staff are extremely hospitable and know the area well. When I arrived, the gentleman who checked me in appeared to be training and did an outstanding job! His trainer was patient and very kind too. This property is located in a strip mall, so you have to park in their underground parking garage. It made my trek to the room a little longer, but at least I got more steps in. My parents and daughter stayed with me during this visit. They kept exclaiming, "This room is SO BIG!" We had a suite with two double beds and a sofa sleeper. Even the bathroom was massive. We were given two soft and two firm pillows on each bed. I got a good night's sleep because the mattress was very comfy. Housekeeping did a responsible job cleaning the room. I would like to see a bit more attention paid to the bathroom floor. Otherwise, the hotel appears to be in tip top condition. read more

This is a new hotel that was recently built and it's so nice. The room was stunning with 2 beds, a couch, television, cute little desk area, as well as a huge spacious bathroom and closet. The shower was nice, the shower head was wide and the door is glass, it looks fancy. David and Janet were super helpful and hard working employees. There is a parking garage under the hotel. The continental breakfast was spectacular, it really hit the spot. I appreciate that they have public bathrooms as well in the hall. It's super clean and comfy. Buffalo Wild Wings and some other restaurants are close by, very convenient and in walking distance. I can't wait to return! 5/5 stars read more

Beautiful clean hotel. We were exhausted from travel. We checked in and our room was warm. We tried adjusting the air. Two hours later it was even hotter. We called front desk and they moved us to a room on a lower floor. We packed up all of our stuff and moved to another room. Same issue ac not working. I called the front desk again. They said that the ac is out. No further information than that. I asked to speak to the manager. They said she is unavailable. Long story short we could not resolve with management and due to poor communication we checked out and went to a different hotel. read more

Um....this place needs work, especially with the staff. I understand sh*t happens and things break, equipment fails, especially with a brand new hotel....but the staff doesn't help make things better. It's almost like they don't really exist. Elevator 1 hasn't been functioning since I got here a few days ago, never saw anybody working on it, then of course, the 2nd elevator stops working. So now it's time to climb! 2 days now, no elevators, I'm on a high floor. No input from front desk, they just keep saying "they are working on it". So this hotel has 2 lower level parking garages, but they failed to put an notice on the elevators down there, so people are literally just standing in the parking dungeons waiting for an elevator that's never coming. That requires you to pull your car back out and find parking out front which is shared with 15 connecting restaurants....yea there's no direct stairs from down there, otherwise I would be climbing 2 extra flights of stairs. Ice machine, everytime I go I see a screen that says "Machine Off"....everytime I call the front desk they say "I'll send somebody up". Yes you guessed it, nobody has come fix it yet. Everytime I call I'm placed on hold, but I know there's no reason for it cuz I actually called from the lobby and watched the girl literally put me on hold and do nothing!....no guests checking in, no other call to take, no nothing....just put people on hold until they hang up. So you just have to literally call over and over cuz going down to talk to them In person required another 4 flights of stairs to climb. 2 stars because the rooms are big and clean, and the breakfast is free.....not great, just free so I can't complain there. Just feel like the staff here doesn't really give a shit, I know some things are out of their control, but there's ways to address people to make them feel like you care. Not here. Stay somewhere else, there's a Towneplace Suites across the street that's much better. read more

Hi. Every year when we are in OC area we come back to stayed at this Marriott for (6 days )because of its breakfast buffet! Great quality food selection . My favorites are the toppings made available for waffle. Fresh fruit toppings. Various types of fruits jams. Individual butter packets, cream cheese, Nutella. Buffets always stocked up on food . We paid for meeting space for 2 days. Rented 5 rooms to have our vehicle damaged. We have continuously tried to contact the general manager, who is never there and does not return calls. We were told that a claim was filed with their insurance company #libertymutual. We have had to pay out of pocket to replace our windshield, and the hood of our vehicle is still damaged. A gated parking structure and cameras are useless if they are not maintained and monitored. read more

Stayed here for a week and it was honestly the best hotel experience I've had. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was huge. They put me on the top floor and from start to finish, my stay was perfect. One morning, there was a disturbance from the next room and when I called the front desk, they were very efficient and attentive about the issue; It was resolved within minutes. The room had a beautiful aesthetic. Everything was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the television had a rotating ability depending on where you watched it in the room and had full cable TV, as well as streaming options. The firepit was very relaxing, the staff were polite, the room was clean and modern and the overall stay was beautiful. I'd give this 10 stars if I could. Stayed here for two nights earlier this week and it was a terrible experience. The staff made continuous mistakes during our stay and lacked the ability to take accountability. I had to work from the room and was interrupted continuously by staff/cleaners knocking on the door, ignoring the fact that the "do not disturb sign was hanging on the door". TWICE, two DIFFERENT employees used their key to open the door to the room without knocking or announcing themselves. I was caught by surprise, scared, and this interrupted two of my meetings. I asked them both why they entered the room and they didn't have an answer. Just tried to close the door as quickly as they could once they saw me in there. I called the front desk to ask what was going on and the girl said she has no idea why employees are coming into the room. I told her this is an invasion of privacy and I have the sign on the door to not enter and she said I need to speak with the manager who would not be in until the next day (so if anything happens during your stay, be prepared for there to be no one to help you) I called the next day to speak with the manager, Kendal R. She said she doesn't know what happened and since I prepaid for the room, she couldn't help me... my punishment for giving them money prior to completing my trip.. I told her these incidents on top of the stains on the sheets, cold shower temp, loud AC, sticky carpet, and poor breakfast options were unacceptable. She said I could call corporate, I asked for the number and she said she didn't have it. She told me to google it. I asked her last and she said "R."... I didn't know I was speaking with a pirate. I asked for her actual last name and she said it doesn't matter and hung up on me. I called back and she said she doesn't have anything to say and hung up on my again. I found corporates number, called and have started an investigation into the matter. Employees mess up and things happen. But this is a customer service industry and the lack of training and accountability was astonishing. I hope there is additional training that is given to the staff of this location to help them navigate through issues and feel capable of handling customer complaints rather than making them worse and hanging up on customers. read more

I was helped by David upon check in around 10:40pm on 6/28. My reservation was for a two queen bed for my sister and myself - upon arrival I was told that they did not have one available for my stay. No apologies or concern for the unavailability of the specific type of room I reserved. What is the point of a reservation days in advance if the room I reserved was not going to be held? We were given a one king bed room. We were then told to use the pull out bed, given bedding to make our space instead of having someone help us take it up given that we had our hands full of with our belongings. To make matters worse, we were then given a room key to room 407, which upon entering we found keys on the tv stand, a receipt, the tv on, the bed clearly already used. When we went downstairs to tell David, there was again no apology or concern - all he asked is if the room was clean and what we saw. We were then given another one king bed room. When attempting to use the pull out bed, we found that it was dirty with wrappers stuck on it. I am extremely disappointed with every aspect of this experience. I barely slept out of fear that our room key would be given to someone else. We even barricaded the door with the ottoman, pillows, anything we could so we would know if anyone was given our room key. I reached out to their customer service and spoke to the manager on property, Kyle, and was offered points that have little to no value. They did refund the 2nd night that we were going to be staying and void the early departure fee since we made it clear we would not be staying due to not feeling safe. We ended up having to pay more for another nights stay at a hotel we had previously had a good experience at. Overall - I would not recommend staying here if you are traveling without any kind of extra protection for your room. read more

I want to give this place 5 stars because aesthetically it's amazing and I know that the things that happened during my stay were a one off. This hotel is very clean, there is a pleasant fragrance that they use that welcomes you which is a huge plus for me. The room was super clean, they have a good number of amenities. Although the pool isn't on site, it is available for use. The staff was very polite and helpful. The parking area is underneath the hotel which is nice and although the outbound gate wasn't working, I believe that when it is that it adds a level of security given that this hotel is oddly placed in a shopping plaza. Breakfast was really good too. I'm skeptical of hotel eggs and pancakes because they're usually hard or powdery, but these were actually very tasty! Cons: - the elevator worked for the first couple of hours of my stay. I was there for 3 nights and it sucked having to climb 3 flights of stairs after a long day of exploring the surrounding area. I also felt bad for some of the older folks who were staying there who weren't staying in the first floor. There was no information given regarding when they'd be up and running, but I also didn't see anyone working on them either. - the security gate for the parking area did not work at all. The hotel is located in a shopping plaza, which is nice but at the same time means that there's people other than hotel guests around. While my vehicle was fine, it would have put my mind at ease knowing the gates worked but more so me not having to walk around to the side of the building late at night, when there is an elevator in the underground parking. -Plumbing. I took a wad of about 6 Kleenexes and tossed them in the toilet, it got clogged. Essentially putting more than a tiny amount of tissue down the toilet caused it to clog. I had to have someone come up twice in my short stay. While not a major complaint at all, more inconvenient and slightly embarrassing having to have someone come up. read more

As a Lifetime Titanium Elite member it saddens me to leave this review. I have nothing negative to say about the property however I have plenty to say about General Manager, Stephanie McGuire. This person doesn't deserve to be in a management position, she is no leader and can't spell or pronounce the words CUSTOMER SERVICE! She is a disgrace to the Marriott family and brand. Anyone who chooses to stay here beware of her if you need anything. This property because of her has been black listed from anyone at my company staying there. We moved out of Orange County but I still needed to come to Lake Forest for work so this was my "home" for the last 18 months. I stayed there at least 2-3 times per month. It started out great - the last 6 months have been terrible. The really friendly staff is gone and replaced by people who wouldn't event quality to work at the DMV. They are just rude. One reason I stayed there was the vehicle charging stations. For months they didn't work. I reported this every week and they insisted they are working. I would go outside and take a picture of them not working and they still did nothing about it. Finally they admitted there was a problem. They literally don't care what you say or if you enjoy your stay or not. It's too bad because the hotel is pretty new and in a great location. The management is just awful. read more

After a bad experience in a different hotel we opted for the SpringHill Suites for our most recent softball tournament. We were so happy we made this choice. The staff was amazing and so was the room. The room was clean and the A/C was awesome. The parking lot around the hotel had so many options for food and a starbucks, all within walking distance. I know I will always look for a Springhill Suites when we travel for anything. Very happy customer. read more
