Great hotel, located on the main blvd, just off the fwy. Next to a Wendys and a starbucks a block away. Continental breakfast was good. They had bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausage links, tater tots, pancakes and hash browns. I think they swtich it up a bit every morning. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed there 2 nights. I enjoyed getting a cardio sesion in both days I was there. Checked in on a Wednesday around 5pm and checked out friday at noon. It has a Mexican restaurant onsite, a pool, a gym, ample parking. Very clean hotel, indoors and outdoors and rooms are spacious, well lit, and very comfortable. The bed was comifortable like no other. The room we got, had a microwave, coffee maker and a fridge. We felt safe, and at peace there. During our stay we came a cross a great majority of the housekeeping staff and they we're all very cordial and friendly. They greeted us upon entering and exiting the elevator. I even felt like I was visiting family. The kitchen staff was the same, lots of women making sure they filled up the breakfast items. I noticed a lot of movement, which was nice to see. That means they're on top of their duties. Will definitely stay here again, and I highly recommend this hotel to others. Its 8 min away from the Disney Parks which is why we were there. Only photos I took is this one

Shampoo, Soap & Conditioner for everyone to have access to or tamper with! VERY UNSAFE!

You will be SHOCKED at how tiny these rooms are! Even the entry door is unusually narrow--if you're a larger person, good luck even getting inside. The room size feels more like a budget hostel than a hotel at this price point. What's worse, Alo seems too cheap or too lazy to offer individual shampoo, soap, or conditioner. Instead, they provide large, shared bottles that anyone can access--or tamper with. That feels very unsafe and unhygienic. For what they charge, individual toiletries should be standard. Shame on Alo for cutting corners in such a basic but important way. Definitely not worth the price!

We chose ALO by Ayres for our 2 night stay while in town for Disneyland. This was due to price, close proximity to Disney, free parking and free breakfast. We had a 2 queen bedroom on the third floor. It's near the 5 and 22 freeways. We could hear loud motorcycles from our room. It's also located next to UCI hospital. We didn't hear ambulances during our stay. What we liked: Bathroom is small. Like hard to shut the door while sitting on the toilet but bright lighting and lots of counter space. 1 hook for a towel and a large towel bar. Water pressure was soft and water got hot. Room and hotel overall was clean. No issues. They will come into your room to turn down sheets and empty trash daily. Extra tall closet and mini fridge/microwave along the same wall. This is efficient in the flow of the room. Leaves more space for luggage against the wall with the tv and desk and other misc items. Efficient set up. Breakfast buffet is hosted in the hotel's Mexican restaurant. There was eggs, sausage. Yogurt, cereal, instant oatmeal, cut fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew) and potatoes. There is a toast your own bread, bagel or muffin table. Lots of coffee, milk, oj. The food tasted good and met my needs. At check in you will be given a little info card with your hotel key. It lists the hours of breakfast, the pool, gym and the laundry room. I love this! Why don't all hotels do this. Located next to a shopping center with a Starbucks, Wendy's and Best Buy. The art shuttle picks up down the street but not in front of the hotel. I chose to drive to Disney so I can't be sure. Things that can improve: Check in was a little painful. Tina was having a bad day or just wasn't having it. Felt like I was at the DMV. I just wanted to get the transaction done. It was strictly transactional and there was no, hi, how are you? None of that. She was not rude but she wasn't nice and acted like it was burden to check me in since her co workers computer wasn't working. Beds are older and not really cushioned. The pillows are down and completely flat. It's an older hotel that's been remodeled but still looks good. There was a huge draft coming from the hallway into our room. So no insulation between the door to the hallway and our room. Designated parking structure on the premise for the hotel. We found parking near the entrance both days. But it can be a challenge if you were just looking to park and go check in. There is not many spots for loading/unloading or check in, in general.

If you like blood drop stains on your bed come on down to alo hotel by ayres here on chapman in orange .... usually when you go to the front desk someone will come to you but one lady was sitting down and other was in her own world i had to say something first before they actually helped me out Management at alo hotel needs to do a better job at hiring people for house keeping and hiring people at the front desk... just because house keeping is out for the day doesnt mean front desk cant take over if there is a problem....

Update Back again. But things are different. The room is still just as nice but the included breakfast will be ignored if we come back. No cleaning of tables or floors or seats. So there is actual debris from diners or just food scraps on a on un-wiped table. I only saw one service lady. She can't do it all. I let the desk know. Maybe there will be an effect.

We had a good experience with this hotel. It has easy access to I-5 and the 22, plus it is on W. Chapman so going east provides easy access to the City of Orange. The room is comfortable and clean, fantastic water pressure and hot water. There is ample , free, and easy parking with close access to one of the hotel doors. The grounds surrounding the hotel are well maintained. The area is safe enough to take morning walks however not much to walk to. West on Chapman in about a half mile is Christ Cathedral (Crystal Cathedral). South on The City Drive is a mall but didn't venture that way. The streets are wide, traffic is fast, and quite noisy. The included breakfast is good enough, but the oatmeal is instant which for me is a key metric for hotel star ratings. ;)

I recently stayed here for 5 nights. Finding parking was easy. When I went to check in, the two workers at the front desk on 3/17 at night were okay-- not really welcoming but the check-in process was quick and without any issues. I was honestly a little worried about our stay, but as we entered our room, I was pleasantly surprised. It was spacious and clean. The bathroom was a little small, but it was clean, so I was grateful for that. Overall, our stay was very pleasant. Housekeeping cleans the room daily, and coming back after a long day to a freshly made and clean room was such a nice feeling. Huge kudos to their housekeeping staff!

ALO Hotel was so much better than what I was expecting. We stayed there while we visited Disneyland, during Memorial Day weekend, I paid about $150/night and all very worth it. Check in was super easy, very nice hotel lobby, there's security on premises. Safe area, plenty of parking... free parking! Room was very spacious and clean. Room came with mini fridge. They offer free breakfast, lots of different foods to choose from! Hotel is about 8 minutes away from Disneyland. Will definitely stay here again!!

    Dining at the attached restaurant

This is a central location for those who want a clean, relatively affordable and pet friendly hotel with an attached restaurant, freeway close, and ample parking. We didn't have any major complaints. Yes, the walls are paper thin, and the fact that guests are moving around at all hours (probably due to UCI Medical Center being across the way) will affect your sleep if you're a light sleeper. Adding pets will increase your stay by $45, which is affordable considering I've stayed at places where it's a min $150 pet cleaning fee. The attached restaurant, Anepalco, is pricey but has nice ambiance. It's also where you go for continental breakfast each morning. Supposedly, you bring your breakfast pass that the front desk give you, but no worker asked to see it during our 4 night stay. The proteins change a bit, but the stale bagels and hard muffins remain the same! They do have a conveyor belt toaster to try and warm things up. They meet middle of the road expectations, and we needed a place to stay while our house was undergoing extensive repairs, so can't complain too much. The beds are not comfortable. Bring a white noise machine and your own pillow if you're traveling by car! We did not utilize the pool amenity. Their higher end sister hotel, Ayres, is within walking distance. We went to Spoons inside that hotel one night to change things up. The Block at Orange is literally the next light when you decide to venture off property!

this front desk guy is rude and has horrible customer service....he doesn't bother to stand up and assist with the customer at the desk and his attitude and facial expressions...it's like he doesn't want to to be there his tone of voice is horrible....yall need to do better with your employees

Was able to get a AAA discount at almost the last minute. The staff was terrific, although when the housekeepers saw anyone coming, they ducked away. That wasn't cool. I wasn't even looking for them, just crossing over to the stairs to get to my room & they scurried like cockroaches in the light as soon as they saw me heading their way. (There is no elevator, btw, so if you cannot do stairs ask for the 1st floor.) The staff attendant at the breakfast was so fabulous. She was really interested in ensuring guests knew what was available and making recommendations when asked. I expected packaged bagels and Costco muffins, but it was a full, freshly cooked buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, toast, potatoes, etc. Or cereal, if you prefer. Very well done. The room was very clean & they even had a bedbug cover for the mattress, always nice to see. The only problem I had with the room was that the a/c needed to be kept at 66 & on 24/7 to cool the room to a reasonable temperature, but when I did that it worked. Part of the problem, I think, is that there is NO SHADE AT ALL, so the sun was blaring onto the a/c. Bring sunscreens for your car because it WILL get very hot. The parking lot is very well lit and felt completely safe. In the morning, I was transferring to a hotel on the Disneyland property, so I left the BW at about 7:30 a.m. -- rush hour and the drive was less than 20 minutes, no freeways necessary. So, great price, excellent location, terrific staff. Also it was an easy check-in and check-out & the manager who assisted was pretty much perfect. Would stay here again.

What could have been an extremely stressful situation was made so much easier thanks to the kindness and professionalism of the hotel staff. From the moment we arrived, every interaction was positive. The valet attendant greeted us warmly and directed us to self parking. At check in, the front desk clerk was friendly, understanding of our situation, and helped extend our stay since we had no idea how long we would be displaced. Later, when we learned we might need to stay for up to two weeks, the staff again went out of their way to help and extended our reservation without hesitation. The pricing adjustments they offered were incredibly generous. We were originally quoted a much higher rate by the automated phone system, but once we spoke with the front desk, they applied an evacuation rate and even lowered it further as our stay continued. They also retroactively adjusted the earlier nights and provided complimentary parking for the entire stay. Their compassion during a difficult time meant a lot. We stayed in two different rooms, both of which were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Each room had the essentials, a small refrigerator, a large TV, and a coffee and tea setup. The second room also had a microwave, which was very convenient. The beds were comfortable, and everything in the rooms worked well except for the USB ports in the first room, but the regular outlets worked fine. When the evacuation zone was finally reduced and we were cleared to return home, checkout was quick and easy. The staff remained just as friendly and helpful as they had been throughout our stay. Overall, the entire team was professional, personable, and truly accommodating. Their support made a stressful situation much easier to handle, and we are very grateful for the care they showed us.

But the inside is spacious, nicely adorned, clean, with a fairly sensible layout/design. The check-in was pretty smooth, and the staff was very professional and engaging. The warm cookie is always a nice treat. There is a nice bar and restaurant within a few steps of the check-in area. No pun intended, but you should check it out. The drinks are on point, and the food doesn't taste like traditional hotel food. The wait staff there is very attentive and accommodating. There is a coffee shop in the lobby just as you enter the hotel. It's little pricey for what you get. I ordered a breakfast croissant. It was good, but again, pricey for what you get. The room was comfortable, cool, and clean. The 3 C's I typically look for when staying in a hotel. There is a decent work area. The bed was comfortable, and it had a nice-sized TV. The lamp outlet on the desk was a bit hard to find, and it's low on the lamp's base. Closet space is ok - standard. The shower had two conditioner pump bottles and one shampoo. There was no shower gel. Not a huge deal. I usually bring my own. There is a really nice outdoor space with varied seating. Some of the lounge-chair type seating have firepits. I forgot my swim trunks to get into the pool. But that's ok, there are usually too many kids in that type of area for me. I like a more chill, less noisy swim. The parking is tight. There is a small lot. About 1/4 of it is for valet. Although the valet team seemed pretty nice, I self parked my vehicle. There are some fast-food places nearby to eat if you aren't feeling the hotel food. And Best Buy is nearby if you attend an event and need some tech stuff. Oh yeah, and The Block at Orange is within walking distance if you need to do some real shopping, get something to eat, or just have some fun. Overall, it was a really good stay. I would revisit in the future. It was good value and service for the money. PROS * Good value * Nice, professional staff * Comfy rooms * Quick elevators * Nice decor * Pantry near check-in area * Good for meetings, seminars, conferences * Outdoor space * Tennis courts * Outdoor pool * Nearby food and shopping * Near the fwy CONS * Small parking lot * A lot of local traffic noise but it's not terrible * Room towels are a bit on the rough side * Could not remove the shower head and separate it from the docking port in the shower * Hurt my foot getting in the shower; the bottom area is a bit raised with metal trim. Just take your time and look down. You should be fine. * Commode flushes hard and loudly * The work desk is a bit small * The desk chair is heavier than most and has no wheels. It is hard to move easily.
