ALO Hotel by Ayres is our usual go-to hotel when we're in Anaheim with our fur babies. A few changes from our last stay is that they charge for parking now! :( They are not walking distance to Disneyland, but I believe a bus or shuttle drives in that direction? Please don't quote me. They're about a 10 min drive to the Parks. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfy buuuuut the bathroom's kind of tight. For this stay, we did not bring the dogs but figured we'd just stay at ALO. We stayed in room 621 and yeah, the bathroom was small. If you're a pretty tall person, you'd definitely be head butting the shower head. They offer free breakfast. Eggs, bacon, cereal, toast, you know, the basic hotel free breakfast. There is a swimming pool. Staff's nice and accommodating when needed. read more

The front desk is really the front line of any business, so I expect guests to be greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for my sister and me. The woman at the front desk with long red hair and long fingernails was far from welcoming and came across as harsh and snappy. As a first-time guest, it was an immediate turnoff. After getting through the uncomfortable check-in process, we headed to the bar for a glass of wine. The staff was already mopping the bar area since the restaurant closes at 9:00 p.m. We ordered two glasses of wine, which came to $29. Thankfully, the wine itself was enjoyable. The rooms are generously sized and nicely appointed. However, the linens had an odd smell, almost like inexpensive laundry detergent. Our room was located across from an electrical room, which created noticeable noise. The bathroom fan runs continuously, so we had to keep the bathroom door closed while sleeping. Based on the reviews, this property seemed promising, but I want to provide an honest account of my experience. One positive is that the windows open slightly, allowing for some fresh air. Booked this place and it was my bfs and I first time here. Not too far from Disney, only thing I wish was that parking was included with the stay. Hotel was super nice and clean. I appreciated the Included breakfast. All the staff were super nice and friendly. I will say there was some issues with the elevators, one of them broke down so the wait time was LONG. But that's ok the comfy beds made up for it. The rooms smelled clean and didn't appear dirty. I liked how it was quiet and wasn't loud. We got a double queen because it was more affordable instead of the king room. Overall I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a nice and affordable place to stay in the area. Great hotel, located on the main blvd, just off the fwy. Next to a Wendys and a starbucks a block away. Continental breakfast was good. They had bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausage links, tater tots, pancakes and hash browns. I think they swtich it up a bit every morning. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed there 2 nights. I enjoyed getting a cardio sesion in both days I was there. Checked in on a Wednesday around 5pm and checked out friday at noon. It has a Mexican restaurant onsite, a pool, a gym, ample parking. Very clean hotel, indoors and outdoors and rooms are spacious, well lit, and very comfortable. The bed was comifortable like no other. The room we got, had a microwave, coffee maker and a fridge. We felt safe, and at peace there. During our stay we came a cross a great majority of the housekeeping staff and they we're all very cordial and friendly. They greeted us upon entering and exiting the elevator. I even felt like I was visiting family. The kitchen staff was the same, lots of women making sure they filled up the breakfast items. I noticed a lot of movement, which was nice to see. That means they're on top of their duties. Will definitely stay here again, and I highly recommend this hotel to others. Its 8 min away from the Disney Parks which is why we were there. We had the best sleep, the room was very quiet even though it is located near the freeway. They did have breakfast which we didn't make it down to and check out is at noon. You will be SHOCKED at how tiny these rooms are! Even the entry door is unusually narrow--if you're a larger person, good luck even getting inside. The room size feels more like a budget hostel than a hotel at this price point. What's worse, Alo seems too cheap or too lazy to offer individual shampoo, soap, or conditioner. Instead, they provide large, shared bottles that anyone can access--or tamper with. That feels very unsafe and unhygienic. For what they charge, individual toiletries should be standard. We chose ALO by Ayres for our 2 night stay while in town for Disneyland. This was due to price, close proximity to Disney, free parking and free breakfast. We had a 2 queen bedroom on the third floor. It's near the 5 and 22 freeways. We could hear loud motorcycles from our room. It's also located next to UCI hospital. We didn't hear ambulances during our stay. What we liked: Bathroom is small. Like hard to shut the door while sitting on the toilet but bright lighting and lots of counter space. 1 hook for a towel and a large towel bar. Water pressure was soft and water got hot. Room and hotel overall was clean. No issues. They will come into your room to turn down sheets and empty trash daily. Extra tall closet and mini fridge/microwave along the same wall. This is efficient in the flow of the room. Leaves more space for luggage against the wall with the tv and desk and other misc items. Efficient set up. Breakfast buffet is hosted in the hotel's Mexican restaurant. There was eggs, sausage. Yogurt, cereal, instant oatmeal, cut fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew) and potatoes. There is a toast your own bread, bagel or muffin table. Lots of coffee, milk, oj. The food tasted good and met my needs. At check in you will be given a little info card with your hotel key. It lists the hours of breakfast, the pool, gym and the laundry room. I love this! Why don't all hotels do this. Located next to a shopping center with a Starbucks, Wendy's and Best Buy. The art shuttle picks up down the street but not in front of the hotel. I chose to drive to Disney so I can't be sure. Things that can improve: Check in was a little painful. Tina was having a bad day or just wasn't having it. Felt like I was at the DMV. I just wanted to get the transaction done. It was strictly transactional and there was no, hi, how are you? None of that. She was not rude but she wasn't nice and acted like it was burden to check me in since her co workers computer wasn't working. Beds are older and not really cushioned. The pillows are down and completely flat. It's an older hotel that's been remodeled but still looks good. There was a huge draft coming from the hallway into our room. So no insulation between the door to the hallway and our room. Designated parking structure on the premise for the hotel.We found parking near the entrance both days. We had a good experience with this hotel. It has easy access to I-5 and the 22, plus it is on W. Chapman so going east provides easy access to the City of Orange. The room is comfortable and clean, fantastic water pressure and hot water. There is ample , free, and easy parking with close access to one of the hotel doors. The grounds surrounding the hotel are well maintained. The area is safe enough to take morning walks however not much to walk to. West on Chapman in about a half mile is Christ Cathedral (Crystal Cathedral). South on The City Drive is a mall but didn't venture that way. The streets are wide, traffic is fast, and quite noisy. The included breakfast is good enough, but the oatmeal is instant which for me is a key metric for hotel star ratings. ;) read more

I recently stayed here for 5 nights. Finding parking was easy. When I went to check in, the two workers at the front desk on 3/17 at night were okay-- not really welcoming but the check-in process was quick and without any issues. I was honestly a little worried about our stay, but as we entered our room, I was pleasantly surprised. It was spacious and clean. The bathroom was a little small, but it was clean, so I was grateful for that. Overall, our stay was very pleasant. Housekeeping cleans the room daily, and coming back after a long day to a freshly made and clean room was such a nice feeling. Huge kudos to their housekeeping staff! read more

Over priced by a longshot, and here is why: 1. Wireless network is very difficult to connect to (horrible user experience). Front desk staff has never actually tried to get on the wireless network, and therefore is useless. That does not stop the front desk people from pretending they care by asking loads of pointless questions like "what kind of network do you need?" 2. Front desk does not answer the phone, because the line is ALWAYSE busy. As we were leaving, I was told the "Front Desk" button on the room phones does not work. Apparently you are supposed to dial zero. Would have been nice if told us on check in. 3. Shower pressure was so low that it only dribbled out of the shower head...we eventually discovered they put us in a handicap room where the shower pressure is not needed for various reasons. 4. Front desk staff says things like "no one has ever complained about that before" when asked "why does no one answer the front desk phone?". Bottom line, at $200+/night, this place is a TOTAL ripoff. read more

ALO hotel by Ayres is our go to when visiting the Anaheim area. We usually bring our two dogs with us when visiting and this hotel was one of the few dog friendly options in the area. For those visiting Disneyland, this hotel is approximately 8 to 10 minutes to the Mickey and friends parking structure. What I like about this hotel is that it is away from the busy strip with all of the other major hotels and restaurants so accessing the hotel is less chaotic. Keep in mind when booking the hotel through a third-party app like Expedia, you have to call the hotel directly ahead of time and let them know that you are bringing pets as I believe they reserve first floor rooms for guests with pets. Plus, it is easier to access the first floor rooms if you have dogs rather than taking them up and down the elevator. Additionally, there is a one time fee of $40 for your dog to stay with you. They have a small relief area for your animals behind the hotel with complementary poop bags. The hotel itself is very clean, and we never had any issues with finding any dirty surface areas and or linen. They offer free breakfast in the morning with a variety of delicious options which include hashbrowns, french fries, yogurt, cereal, muffins and toasted bagels. They have plenty of parking in the back of the hotel along with free garage spots. They offer free electric vehicle parking for up to four cars in the garage as well. The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating with our needs during our stay. The price of this hotel was very fair in comparison to the surrounding hotels. This is a central location for those who want a clean, relatively affordable and pet friendly hotel with an attached restaurant, freeway close, and ample parking. We didn't have any major complaints. Yes, the walls are paper thin, and the fact that guests are moving around at all hours (probably due to UCI Medical Center being across the way) will affect your sleep if you're a light sleeper. Adding pets will increase your stay by $45, which is affordable considering I've stayed at places where it's a min $150 pet cleaning fee. The attached restaurant, Anepalco, is pricey but has nice ambiance. It's also where you go for continental breakfast each morning. Supposedly, you bring your breakfast pass that the front desk give you, but no worker asked to see it during our 4 night stay. The proteins change a bit, but the stale bagels and hard muffins remain the same! They do have a conveyor belt toaster to try and warm things up. They meet middle of the road expectations, and we needed a place to stay while our house was undergoing extensive repairs, so can't complain too much. The beds are not comfortable. Bring a white noise machine and your own pillow if you're traveling by car! We did not utilize the pool amenity. Their higher end sister hotel, Ayres, is within walking distance. We went to Spoons inside that hotel one night to change things up. The Block at Orange is literally the next light when you decide to venture off property! read more

We've stayed at ALO many times over the years, both before and after their remodel a few years ago. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly enough. The bathrooms are small, but fine for us because there's usually only 2 of us. This past trip we did have a microwave in our room, not sure if this is something they've added to all rooms recently or we just got lucky. The beds are ok, could be more comfy. The AC/Heater unit is still one of those wall units that you control from the unit itself not on the wall. The elevators are super old and small so during busy seasons they do take a while and are often full especially in the mornings. Their elevators fit maybe 6 adults at most without any luggage and that's with close corners, comfortably 4 adults. Breakfast is included and has a decent amount of options but it does end promptly at 9 am during the weekdays, it would be nice if it was until at least 9:30 daily. It does end at 9:30 on Saturday and Sunday. They change the meat choice daily (sausage patties, bacon, sliced polish type sausage), eggs, potatoes, pancakes sometimes, a few different cereals and breads (English muffins, white and wheat bread, some different bagels, mini muffins), instant oatmeal, fruit and yogurt. Not a big variety of drink choices, they have coffee, tea bags, water and only orange juice, no other juice choices. I wish they still had their signature coffee cake and the croissants but we still find enough to eat. They also use styrofoam plates and cups now, you would think in California they would at least use paper so they could compost all the trash that is created from guests. They have added coffee back in the reception/lobby area all day which is nice but no hot water. Also wish they still had cookies at check-in, they used to be delicious and really big! The ART shuttle to Disneyland does not run as often as closer hotel locations so if you're looking to take the shuttle be aware, I think it used to run hourly and only a few times in the morning and night. Also, you have to request through an app now instead of just buying paper tickets at the desk. It can be complicated if you're not tech savvy. I like the covered parking garage they built when they built the bigger Ayres next door. Usually not a problem finding parking and it's nice not having your car sitting in the sun. There's a Wendy's and Starbucks right next door that is easy to walk or drive to. Overall, the price is usually good, breakfast and parking are included which is always something we love, and it's one of our go to Hotels when we visit Disneyland. read more

The room was nice and clean. The telephone and TV were not working and I did not realize until after dinner. I had unpacked. I called the help desk and they wanted me to go downstairs to turn in the keys in exchange for a new room with two beds instead of the king size room I had. They advised they did not have an engineer/staff on site to fix it. I had to repack and I had heavy items. They advised they would send someone up in about 20 minutes. They sent someone shortly after. I switched rooms on the same floor. Recommend to make sure all works before unpacking. I'm giving 3 stars because they charged the $100 deposit to my credit card. Recommend to make sure it shows pending and not posted. Even after stay the deposit was showing pending and 2 days after departing shows posted. I booked through hotels.com as I prepaid the room through them and was advised it would take the hotel 7-10 business days to refund. This is not a good service when the hotel made a mistake to post. For customers, review deposit charges even days after to make sure they don't overcharge. Deposits should not show as "posted" that is a charge. They should show as "pending" in credit cards as a hold. I will update in a few days. read more

No complaints about the facilites or our stay at this hotel, which was conveniently located near various family members. The front desk staff is sweet, the hotel is well kept, and they had charging stations for us to plug our EV into. We asked for a quiet room at check in and they were able to accommodate us at the end of a hallway on a high floor away from the elevators. We didn't use the pool, hot tub, or exercise room. We had the free breakfast one morning, which came with our room. They had the standard fare: cereal, eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit, breads. Coffee and juice. The beds and pillows were softer than we are used to, but the room was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The housekeeping staff is fantastic. One "con" is that the hotel is kitty corner from UC Irvine Medical Center and periodically throughout the day/night you'll hear sirens. If you're sensitive to sound, bring ear plugs. Also, there was no safe in our room. Talk to the front desk if you need to secure valuables. There are "pros" than "cons," including the EV charging, free breakfast, free parking, and included wi-fi. I have been using this hotel for years and previously had no issues. This stay, they updated to charge for parking and using a vendor that requires scanning a QR code. I scanned, paid for two nights and on my way out of the parking lot the next morning noticed a ticket attached to my windshield wiper. Circled back to the hotel before getting on the highway and parked at the hotel to see it was a warning violation' but for what... I had paid for two days right when I checked in the night before. Caused us to be late for our appointment that morning. Since the parking vendor is making errors such as this and the fact they are now charging for parking I might as well pay for parking at a larger hotel chain with more locations globally. What differentiated the ALO and Ayres hotel there is no longer the case. Time to move on. read more

Let me save you some time and money, do NOT stay at this hotel! I knew it was going to be a bad experience when we parked in the parking structure and there were two people smoking weed right in front of the entrance door. Absolutely disgusting smell, especially for my daughter to have to smell that crap. The interior of the hotel is dingy and dirty. There is so much paint smeared all over messed up repairs. It looks like they took a rundown motel and slapped a fresh layer of paint on it. The hallway rugs are gross and dirty. The rooms are dirty, especially the rug. What upset me the most is that they didn't have a DO NOT DISTURB sign, so the maid tried to come in four times! She first knocked at 8:30, then 9:30, then 10:30, then 11:30. Even after answering the door and telling her we were still there, and we weren't leaving yet, she still tried to come in. I had to slam the door in her face when she attempted to come in the FOURTH time!! Whoever that older maid is, she needs to be fired immediately. She was extremely unprofessional trying to walk in after she was told we weren't leaving until 12pm. Then the hotel called me an hour after I checked out and asked if I was still there. NO! I was already almost home. Why would I still be in the room after I had checked out?! I had another reservation to stay there next month, and I immediately cancelled that reservation after this stay. I booked this room for D23. Upon booking I checked to see distance to the Anaheim Convention center. It said it was close. Once my fiance and I arrived to check in the lady at the front desk told me I was booked for 2 rooms. I told her that was incorrect and that I only booked 1 room and showed her my reservation but their system had me booked for 2. She was really sweet by cancelling the second room and giving me a number to call just in case I got double charged. If you are booking a stay for work at the UCI Health hospital this is your go to because it is directly across the street. But if you are booking for Disneyland , DCA, Downtown Disney, garden walk do not book because it is a 50+ minute walk so definitely will have to drive. When I come to Disney I look to stay within walking distance to cut cost of driving and paying for parking as I come from. Northern California. Overall Notes: 1. Very limited parking so if you come back late good luck finding a park 2. Elevator is extremely small and outdated. Only can fit a family of 2 with bags 3. The shower head is super short (and I'm 5"3). There also was a bar in the shower that I kept hitting every time I washed my body 4. One of the USB ports on the lamp was broken 5. Bathroom was small. Great room at this price point. It's on a busy unattractive corner in Orange near the university medical center. Close enough to Knott's and Disney if you need to stay over before/after a visit to the parks. The room was big and clean. Comfortable bed but the worst uncomfortable pillows. My room overlooked the Best Buy parking lot, which was ugly but whatever. Pretty quiet except for the trucks at 6AM and weird guests next door that were a bit on the loud side. Very small bathroom but ok for me. The hotel has been nicely updated. Parking is free and easy. Breakfast is free and easy. They have a beautiful restaurant area where you can enjoy your free breakfast. Big pool and jacuzzi. Nice humans at the front desk, appreciated the service. read more

Weekend getaway for my birthday last month. I was searching for a nice hotel for a decent price and this hit all the marks. It was close to everything we wanted to see and explore. The check in staff was very friendly and attentive. The hotel stay comes with free parking onsite and complimentary breakfast daily. The breakfast was better than I expected. They had more options than I anticipated. And a really pretty dining area to enjoy your food. It was a nice weekend so we spent some time at the pool. There is hot tub and outdoor shower as well. The room is good size we had plenty of space. We had access to a mini fridge to keep our drinks cold. Tons of closet space to hang things up. Bathroom was a decent size. It's 12 o'clock midnight and have to look elsewhere to stay. Front desk employee had a horrible attitude and was not understanding of a mistake there was in the system as she repeatedly suggested the address is mistaken when in fact it's the only known ALO hotel in the area. read more

One of the best inexpensive hotel I've ever stayed in! There were plenty of pleasantries, the room was spacious and accommodating, the breakfast had a lot of variety and the staff was constantly refilling the food, there's a bar area near the hotel, there was a lot of parking, and overall, the bed itself was very comfortable. read more

This hotel was a God send and a total surprise. I wanted a nice place close to Disneyland that offered free parking, free hot breakfast and a charging station for the vehicle I was renting. This property fit the bill and some. When we checked in the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Gave us the lay of the land and handed us our keys. Went up to the room, I was not prepared for how nice it was. Super clean and inviting. Housekeeping was so wonderful. Anything we needed, they made sure we had. BREAKFAST was on another level. You know how a hotel description says hot breakfast and it just be the bare minimum. Alo set the bar pretty high. Breakfast was served in the adjacent restaurant. The first mornings breakfast was scrambled eggs, smoked sausage, fried potatoes, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, granola, pastries and bagels... week day evenings they have cookies in thw lobby as well. Nice sitting area in the lobby also. And I almost forgot about the quaint outdoor courtyard with the pool ro boot. I didn't have enough time to fully enjoy the property but it was a really great place to stay and anytime in Anahiem we will be here. Cali, I'll be back soon read more

Clean and roomy staff is very nice, enjoyed our state only thing is need more handicap parking other than that our stay was great
