After a horrible experience at another hotel nearby we booked this room. Springhill should have been my first choice anyway. Check in took only a few minutes with Sue, she was really nice and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a great couch and desk area to eat our dinner. The shower was perfection, great water pressure and nice hot water. The bedding at Springhill is so comfortable. You can buy the sheets, pillows and I think the same mattresses. When I get home I am ordering the pillows. Breakfast for me is not my favorite but my guys like it. They don't have waffle machines and the waffles they do have come in a bag. I am concerned that this property owner is over selling and intentionally filling rooms that are inhabitable and problematic. After a long day on the road I checked into this hotel at 11:00pm. After getting my family situated we went to take a much needed hot shower and the shower drain did not work. The water did NOT drain. read more

I stay there two days and it was horrible, they were so rude, I started to have allergies and my service dog was barking and they called telling Me so rude that a service dog don't bark, and I ask for late check out and they told Me I couldn't because I was just a Member but so rude and that was another person, when I checked in they were asking Me what does my service dog do and what was wrong with Me and that's against the law to ask those questions, they just made Me feel so sad and uncomfortable, I don't recommend that place because the workers from there are just to rude, Im sure Im not staying there again. read more

The hotel only gives full housekeeping service every three days. The room is average with the exception of the weird way they have glass on the barn type door to the bathroom. The door is very hard to slide and if one turns on a light in the bathroom at night the light floods onto the bed waking up your partner. My brother made the reservations for our rooms and no complaints about the process. The hotel is located far enough from the hustle and bustle but close enough to the mall and several restaurants. Those who worked the front desk were welcoming. The room was nice and clean, two queen beds and a sofa bed. A lot of space for my mom and I since we packed like we were staying for a week. We were not here for vacation but allowed ourselves to rest some in the very comfortable beds. A few of the amenities included a mini fridge and microwave, huge plus. Really not a fan. This is a dingy little Marriott property. It is very dated, there is not enough parking (especially if you are out past like 7pm), and rooms are not cleaned during your stay. I stayed for 5 nights and didn't receive ANY housekeeping. When I requested new towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags at the front desk, the worker was super rude, but eventually did send someone to my room with the things I requested. Because they don't do housekeeping, garbage is regularly piled in the halls for people to pick up so the halls look literally trashy. Bedding is so thin, very worn, and doesn't provide any comfort or warmth. Pillows are very worn in. Pull out bed/couch was so indented both visibly and functionally. Desk in room is nice. TV is on a swivel mount but doesn't work when turned towards the couch (cord or port issue of some sort.) Breakfast is mediocre at best and they often clean up early and get mad at you when you come down half an hour before breakfast ends. Wouldn't stay again and would not recommend. read more

I have stayed at several of these properties over the south and always throughly enjoyed my stay. However this property is disappointing at best. The workers however are top notch. This hotel is not as clean for starters. The TV is extreamly cheap the coffee maker I'm sure 2.99 at Walmart. Finger prints on the entrance to the bathroom. No hairdryer in the room although the desk person did track us one down. Breakfast was a muffin toast and yogurt. Location was sketchy as well. Stuck behind a lot of trashy woods with no street lighting. Very disappointed here and will never be back. I'm here often and only staying here because of previous Springhill experiences. The room was clean when we first arrived on Thursday for our three day stay at this hotel. However, the "suite" part consisted of a microwave, a mini frig, a cheap coffee maker and an uncomfortable couch. On our second day we returned to the room late in the afternoon after a day of sight seeing. It had not been cleaned so I called the front desk. They said they only clean the rooms when requested, and I should have been told that when we checked in - we were not told that. Moreover, instead of trying to help the situation, the person I spoke to kept demanding to know the "purpose of our three day stay there", which was completely irrelevant to the problem. I was told if I wanted clean towels, I could come down to the desk and pick them up. At that time, I also requested that the room be cleaned the next day. They said yes, but never showed up to clean it or bring fresh towels, By the time we checked out, we had waste baskets that were filled to the brim and a pile of wet towels in the bathroom. The breakfast was fine on Friday, the first day, but went downhill after that. When we went down at 7AM on Sunday we were told most of the breakfast would not be out until 8AM. We had been told 6:30 AM when we checked in. What was out was dry cereal with dried fruit and bagels. Unfortunately the toaster did not work so you could not even toast the bagels. All in all a bad experience, and one that won't be repeated. I am wondering if the new Marriott policy is not to clean the rooms until you check out or if this is just this hotel. Being Marriott for years, this is the first time that I stay in a low low maintenance hotel. The rug right at the door it's disgusting, same as the elevators. Luckily the room was clean. The breakfast was from 6am to 9am, we came down at 8:20 and what I saw it was a joke. All kind of ingredients to eat with yogurt but no yogurt available. We want some bagel, no bagels. We want some fruit but No fruit. I went to the kitchen to ask for cream cheese and to my surprise, I see a large bowl with bananas. I went to the front desk 10 minutes later and I told the person about the bananas, she went personally to get the bananas out of the kitchen. Are they hiding the bananas or what? Poor Poor... the worst breakfast in a Marriott. I google the hotel and yes, it's a franchise. Meaning that the cheap owner of the hotel is representing the Marriott in the worst way possible. read more

Alicia at the front desk was absolutely amazing from the very first phone call. She was so personable and helped us get our reservation set up and made the check in process a breeze. I am a Marriott Ambassador member, which means I spend 100+ nights and $20,000+ at Marriott properties in a year. I have been at that level for three years, so I have significant experience across the Marriott brands. One of the trademarks that Marriott teaches their employees across all of their brands is to thank and acknowledge the status level of Bonvoy members. That never happened at this hotel. When it doesn't happen, from my experiences, the chance that there are going to be major issues with my stay skyrockets. If management can't even get their staff to do something that simple, there is a good chance that major things also fall through the fact. When I arrived, the front door was locked and required the front desk attendant to come unlock the door. She didn't say "welcome," "are you checking in," or a single word. She just walked back behind her desk until I said something. Shortly after getting to my room, I noticed that the wifi didn't work. I called the front desk, and the employee acted like she wasn't aware of the issue. She gave me a phone number to their help desk, which I called. After a long wait, the help desk employee told me that they were aware of this issue at this hotel and had been working on it for the past week. He didn't know when it would be fixed but that the wifi was out for about 80% of the hotel. The next day, the same thing: no wifi. I asked a new front desk employee, and she acted like she wasn't aware of the issue. Later, I called and spoke to another front desk employee. She connected me to the voicemail of the GM, Thomas. I left a voicemail. I gave it all day, never heard back, then emailed the GM. I stayed until the following day. Upon leaving, I mentioned it to yet another front desk employee. She said she was aware of the problem over the last couple of weeks, but she thought they may have fixed the issue. A couple of days later, the GM finally responded via email. There are major issues with this: for a business traveler, if I can't access wifi, my stay is useless at the hotel. More, most employees played dumb about the issue, but one admitted to knowing it had been an issue. The help desk also confirmed it was an issue they were aware of for at least a week,. How can front desk attendants not know of the wifi being out for 80% of the hotel unless they're told not to tell people about it upon check-in, because ya' know, money. That appears what this hotel is coaching its employees to do. Had they informed me of the wifi not working, I would have canceled and gone elsewhere. But it gets worse: After my stay, I received an email that the hotel sends to rate my stay. If I click that my stay was good, it pushes the user to Trip Advisor so that the public can read the positive review. However, if I click that the stay was poor, instead of pushing me to Trip Advisor, it pushes me to an internal website where only the hotel sees it. In other words, the hotel in manipulating guests to have their positive reviews go on a publicly facing website while the negative reviews only get pushed to the hotel. It's a lack of business ethics. When I asked the GM about this and showed him the video of his hotel doing this (which I am sure he is aware of), he refused to answer. Ambassador customer support put in writing to me that they were having trouble getting that GM to respond to even them. When he finally did, he also ignored their inquiry into his hotel greatly manipulating reviews that guests leave. Considering I stayed at this hotel due to high reviews on Trip Advisor (which we now know are greatly manipulated) and under the assumption that they would have wifi, I was defrauded into this stay. Go elsewhere - the hotel utilizes deceit in its guest reviews, and the GM lacks basic customer service abilities and refuses to answer to the deceptive strategy his hotel employs. read more

Well room was very nice, the only complaint I have is bathroom needs a night light. I get up a few times at night and couldn't see without a light and turning on either light switch gives off a lot of light with the glass door. Staff I encountered were wonderful. Breakfast was not up to standard with what I have seen at other spring hill suites. Only boiled eggs that were a bit tough, instead of bacon or sausage it was maybe some kind of hash?? Not entirely sure, only 3 cereal options, frozen rewarmed waffles instead of fresh, (pre packaged), no chocolate milk, if there had at least been waffles my kids would have eaten (they are a bit picky) so instead of leaving with happy tummies, 3 left hungry. Alot of us with kids book this place on purpose so we don't have to go somewhere and wait and can save a little money in breakfast. Overall, good stay but a little improvement is needed to be up to par with the rest of the Springhill suites. read more

Given the purpose of this Marriott isn't extended stay the way several of the others are, I feel it's entitled to 5 stars based on our experience. The room was clean and modern with everything one could possibly need for a short stay. Mini fridge that cooled nicely, microwave, coffee maker, direct tv with all channels and an extremely comfortable king size bed. The fan noise in the bathroom mentioned by another review, is easily removed by closing the sliding door. Hotel was also overall very clean and staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast station was delicious and included scrambled eggs, fixins, sausage, oatmeal, baked goods and cereal bar and various juices, cofeee and teas. For the price and location (especially during Mardi Gras) we were very pleased with our stay and would return. read more

Spring Hill Suites has definitely exceeded my expectations. I have been on the to Mobile for the past 8 hours and it was very welcoming to get here and find a warm and friendly person like Terries. I forgot toothpaste and condiments for our takeout and he happily obliged! Hotel staff and house keeping was extremely friendly and very professional. Beds were clean and comfy. Breakfast was free so I have no complaints about that. Conveniently located by everything. The reason I'm giving this hotel two stars is because of the filthy carpet. The carpet was extremely dirty in the elevators, down the halls, and in the guest rooms. It was so disgusting, I wanted to leave but I was there with a group of people for Mardi Gras. My first night there, I reached over to grab my phone and just so happened to look down at the floor on the side of the bed; it looked as if someone vomited LAST YEAR and the staff didn't clean it all up. SOOOOO GROSS!!!!!!! The microwave was dirty and the bathroom fan was loud and stayed on continuously. The bathtub also had rust stains down the wall which was disgusting to look at as well. It wasn't the worst hotel I've ever seen, however, I wouldn't recommend anyone in my family to stay there. read more

The room was clean and the hotel staff were awesome. My one and only complaint which is huge for me is the bathroom fan. Normal hotels or homes the fan in the bathroom can turn on and off with the light switch. Unfortunately this was not the case here and being that the bathroom is near the bed this was an annoying loud sound all night long. I am not sure why the hotel was built this way but I assure you I will never stay at this hotel again. Back to the Marriott I go next week. If you came to the hotel to avoid sleep and want a nice comfortable bed that's clean than this the hotel for you. If noise bothers you while you are trying to sleep than I would try somewhere else. read more

Terrible customer service. Had a line of people trying to check in. Nobody had the front desk for over 20 minutes. Breakfast is supposed to be hot. The eggs, sausage and bacon were all cold and the breakfast had just started. The waffle mix was literally the consistency of water and ran out of the machine and all over the countertop and that was after breakfast has started 30 minutes prior. There was one staff member who when asked where the waffle mix was said he wasn't ready yet and then when they brought it out, it wasn't edible. When you ask for extra towels, you don't get them. There are plenty of hotels in the area, I would avoid this one. read more

Stayed during evacuation from hurricane Irma. We were told by reservations and when we checked in that our cat traveling with us is no problem given the ordered mandatory evacuation. Checked out right price. Later I was charged over 2.5 X of my room rate as a pet penalty. We were never told this or we would not have booked. We saw several guests with dogs. Call hotel and Marriott Rewards and told "too bad". Why is this Marriott property taking advantage of people evacuating a natural disaster by in my opinion a fraudulent "bait and switch" After 20 years I will not be staying in a Marriott property again. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very clean and the room was large. It had a mini fridge, microwave, and cable. Some in our group went swimming in the pool and the hotel provided a towel for the pool. The gym is what I expect at a hotel. Weights, tredmill, and ellipticals with TVs. Typical breakfast was offered and it was constantly replenished. The staff was courteous and friendly. Overall it was a pleasant stay. read more

This hotel is great! I came home to visit for Christmas and I stayed here for 3 nights December 23 thru December 26 and the experience was awesome! The rooms were very large, the employees where friendly and made you feel welcome morning and night! The hotel was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was great and shout out to Ms Roma who was amazing. Enjoy your cruise. I stayed outside on the patio around the fire set up they have and listening to the music that relaxed my mind. This was an amazing stay. If you want to relax and clear your mind, this is the place to come even if you're not visiting. This young guy work night and day keeping the hotel clean and really enjoyed helping. Sorry I didn't get his name but I'm pretty sure they have a way of knowing who he is. They guy who checked us in December 23rd. And the lady behind the desk who left for a doctors appointment December 24th . And came back to work. She also checked us out December 26. We live in the area but booked a room here to get away from our house for the day while it was being remodeled. We figured our toddler son would be able to get a better nap away from all the noisy construction. Room was clean and comfortable. But the best part was the outstanding customer service we received from Diana, the GM. My son fell in love with their outdoor pool while we were there, and when we went to check out, I promised him that he could play in it one last time before we left for the day. However, we were told by a woman at the desk that the pool was for guests only and because we had just checked out, we no longer had access to it. Try explaining that to a 3 year old! Needless to say, my son was heartbroken. As I was trying to explain the situation to him on our way out, we passed Diana, who overheard us and quickly let us into the pool area and assured us that we were still guests and could use it. I was so grateful and touched by her kindness! And my son had a blast playing in the pool one last time before we left the property. Will definitely be staying here again if we ever need another "home away from home" day!! read more

I really liked this hotel. The newest of the six hotels we stayed in during our Southern road trip, it embraces the modern aesthetic with bright colors and open spaces. It was actually my second choice in Mobile, but because I was doing a points stay I wasn't able to secure that one. I chose this location due to the close proximity to the freeway and my friend's house. Parking is free and ample. Check in was a bit delayed due to a large group arriving ahead of us, but if you are savvier than I you will use your Marriott mobile app for this. There were lollipops for the kiddies and good tea/okay coffee at all times in the lobby. We got a nice suite on the second floor, which consisted of a king-sized bed and a separate living area with a sofa sleeper for the kiddies. I appreciated the module coffee tables that could be moved to other parts of the room, and the large size of the sofa. The T.V. is shared between the sleeping and living spaces, but it works. There is a nice desk for laptop, tablets, and plenty of outlets for charging. Free wi-fi. Refrigerator and microwave with a butler sink are near the entryway. Bathroom was really clean and new, but note there are not baths (not an issue for my older kiddies but those with little ones might have one). The vanity mirror had a weird sort of light frame that was placed high and annoyed me more than assisted, and did not turn off. But I did appreciate the large sliding door to the space. Breakfast in the lobby is free and simple: cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt, grits, daily breakfast meat. My only gripe is that they clear away most items at 9:30 on the weekend, even though the front desk clearly indicated the breakfast should last until 10am on the weekend. The pool looked nice but it was in an odd location so we didn't use it. Only one washer/dryer and the dryer didn't dry well at all. We ended up taking the damp clothes to my friend's place. Waste of quarters. Staff was laid-back and very friendly. The place was kept very clean throughout. I'd recommend it for a simple stay away from the bustle of Mobile's downtown. read more

We stayed while in transit between TX and FL. It was a weekend and I think this place being by the airport is probably a business road warrior location primarily but it suited our needs just fine. Very close to major highway arteries, good shopping/restaurants close by and good service from the desk. Special shout-out to Jermaine who seemed to be all over the place. The hotel seemed understaffed and Jermaine was handling breakfast buffet issues, front desk duties, and I think we even saw him handling laundry, all at the same time with a smile on his face. Cleanliness of the room was a concern as we found crap on the carpet that should have been picked up by a basic vacuuming and there was no shampoo. Both were pretty minor but kinda made me feel that whoever cleaned the room last, didn't put much effort into it? read more

The price was right. I should have known it was too good to be true. The lobby smelled like dog but the elevator and floors were clean and smelled pet-free, at least the second floor did. I am a silver rewards member and have a high floor request. Floor 2 didn't cut it. Sure enough the noisy guests above us with a child running and jumping across the room ruined the experience for me. Had I been given a higher floor as noted on my account, I may have had a different experience and thus a different opinion of this hotel. But to be fair, and to give proper review to the chain, the room had great AC, was clean, big, and was updated. There was a fridge, microwave and foldout couch in addition to two Queen beds, desk and table. Will I stay at Marriott in the future? Yes. I conference too much not to.
