Drove from Nashville to Pensacola to see the kids and grands. Found the SpringHill Suites had a handicapped accessible room, so we booked a 2-night stay. Molly was very helpful in finding us a discount as we booked our reservation. Upon arriving, Lindsay was at the front desk. What a gem this young lady is - I sure hope management appreciates her. I explained the grands wanted to come spend time with us and swim in the pool. She cheerfully explained where to find the pool towels, how to get to the pool area, pool hours, etc. Upon getting to our handicapped accessible room, we were very pleased at the size and cleanliness of the room (see pics). The lobby is very soothing and done in a water theme - very appropriate for the Gulf Coast. When the grands arrived, Lindsay introduced herself to them and handed them each a VIP bag containing two bottles of water, a bag of chips, a sour gummy candy packet, and a Hershey bar. The kids were thrilled and thanked Lindsay. The best part? Lindsay truly cares about people - even children. She could've stopped at greeting the children and went back to her duties. But she went the extra mile instead and made up VIP bags for them. They won't forget it, and neither will I. The rooms are well appointed and there is ample room to turn a chair around with no problem in all areas. I highly recommend SpringHill Suites. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the bed. It's too hard for me, but if you like a firm bed you will like it.

After checking in, I went to room 128 and pulled the sheets back to take a nap. I noticed the sheets were very wrinkled and thin. I looked underneath and there was no mattress pad. The mattress was stained and ratty. We went to the front desk to ask for a room change. While the desk clerk and the housekeeper involved were very nice, we got moved to room 125. When we went in that room, the mattress had a pad on it so I assumed the mattress was better. It was still pretty uncomfortable but I didn't want to ask to move again. This morning, I took the sheets off the bed nd to my horror, the mattress was urine stained and dirty. I can't believe that a Marriott accepts this type of mattress quality. We stay in many Marriotts as we travel and this may be our last. I do not recommend this hotel until they make complete mattress changes. I can't believe we paid $150 to sleep on a urine mattress. Pics attached.

Very nice Hotel... perhaps the best deal in the area. Would stay again. Pros: Rooms are spacious. Friendly service Free Breakfast Close to shopping center (Burlington Coat, Sears, TJ Maxx etc) Great location, near I-10 (ideal for business travel) Outdoor Pool, open until 10pm Gym open 24 hours (free headphones & water cooler) Reading lamp attached to bed Plenty of parking Hot water available for self serve in lobby (tea drinkers will appreciate this) Small to medium size towels available by pool area Microwave / Fridge available in rooms (big plus) Cons: Breakfast could be better. (not much different from other similar Hotels) Coffee was a bit sour, better off going elsewhere for your morning fix Elevator is little slow, good thing there's only 4 floors Fitness center is small, think I saw 3 or 4 treadmills, a bench and free weights No safe box in rooms Strange outside entrance to the pool (no walkway) As you can see, pros clearly outweigh the cons. Not the biggest Hotel, only four floors, pool is average, lobby is typical for this style of Hotel. Loved the size of the bedrooms, the bathroom and closet also offer plenty of room. Hotel is clean and provided great service, four star Hotel imo. had a very good experience overall.

Where do I even begin?…read more We had our wedding at Garden & Grain this weekend and it was absolutely flawless. I have to start with the most important parts of our day which were Cara & Jadyn, our event coordinators and Nick & Jesse, our bartenders. Cara and Jadyn were literal earth-movers and magic makers. These two helped us get everything decorated and torn down with absolute ease (and we had an awful lot of decor we brought in.) By the time we moved into the ceremony, Jadyn was everywhere ensuring we started when we were ready, the guests were ready for us to enter, and just made us feel so at ease. We heard from so many guests that they didn't even realize the chairs got moved from the garden into the grainhouse between because it was so fast and flawlessly executed. These folks were so stealthy bringing 75 chairs between different spaces. Bravo. Our caterer was just arriving as we were about the walk the aisle. We had no idea the chaos that was ensuing behind the scenes that Jadyn and the team worked out as quickly as possible and without our guests even recognizing there was a delay in the start time of the food service. Obviously catering is a huge part of the day, and it would have been so stressful had we realized they were 30+ minutes behind. The execution of our wedding could not have happened flat out without these two wonderful people. We are so grateful for you both, Cara and Jadyn. You deserve all the praise in the world and are absolutely amazing event coordinators. Oh, and Jadyn, thanks for never letting us have a drink less than half full - your impeccable attention to detail is what every event coordinator should strive for. Now, the other critical aspect to a wedding is bar service. Nick and Jesse had those drinks flowing non stop all night. There was never a guest waiting in line or without a drink from before the ceremony to last moments. Our guests were complimenting all night on how amazing the bar service was. We are a family with one side from New Orleans, we know how to party and going into it with 2 bartenders for 75 people who know how to have a good time was an anxiety for us, but there was not a single mishap in the bar service and we couldn't have asked for a better experience for our guests or us. Not to mention, every time I looked at Nick or Jesse, they were both smiling and so happy to be there with us - it meant a lot to feel like your vendors were a part of your wedding. The space lent itself so naturally to our ceremony and reception. It was beautiful, cozy, clean, and just 100% our vibe. Our guests also complimented all night on what a cool venue we had. If you're thinking about booking an event, particularly a wedding here, don't hesitate. There's not a dang thing I would change about Garden & Grain, Perfect Plain and the people they had assisting us and our guests throughout the event. Being able to look back and see how smoothly things ran is every Bride's dream, and without a doubt you will have the same experience that we did here. Thank you G & G/Perfect Plain/Perennial Hospitality for the amazing experience on our wedding date. You have no idea what this meant to us. It means even more to feel that you guys actually enjoyed being there with us. Pat yourselves on the back and know that you are shining examples of what a wedding venue is supposed to operate like. Cheers to you guys, thank you once again for everything!

Well I'm here in the area working for a few months. I love seeing what locals embrace. This little…read moretheater seems to be just that. I found this place by searching around the internet. It listed a comedy-magic show for $26 advance purchase (it's $30 at door). I paid at the door with a credit card...which then included a small processing fee. I don't know if the fee is waived with a cash payment. To the best of my knowledge, it was street parking only. This place also appeared to be ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible. Now there aren't mounted seats inside. It's more of an open floor arrangement which allows for seating changes as needed (with folding chairs). There's also an elevated seating area. There were no concessions that I noticed. So the show I saw featured Tom Coverly...a 90 minute comedy-magic act that involves audience participation. Although his show is themed around magic, I felt it was primarily comedy. There were lots of young kids and teenagers in the audience. Although comedy, his act was kid appropriate. Tom mentioned that proceeds from his performances go toward local support, but I can't recall specifically what it was...sorry. He also mentioned that the theater has other nights with standup comedians and that there'll also be some jazz nights. For me, his act was good and funny but not a gut buster. But your funny bone may break, so please be your own judge. So I definitely enjoyed the show and I'll probably catch other performances here during my lengthy stay.

This event venue is owned by a local church. Not certain if it ever has events that aren't…read morereligiously-themed, as the intarwebs are sparse with information about that. I recently attended a Christmas sing-along, because my friend is part of a choral group that was there. The church has done a fantastic job of renovating this almost century-old edifice. The foyer is bright and welcoming and the bathroom (the men's, at least) is exceptionally spotless and well-outfitted. The entire place was spotless, actually. There's a small stage in the back, floor seating, and then a tiered, elevated seating section to the back (which is towards the front of the building). The acoustics aren't audiophile approved, but I wasn't listening to Mozart, so the sound was just fine. In one of the front windows, there is displayed a circa-1930s film projector, which looks like it would require 3-4 highly-trained technicians to operate. If you are ever walking by the Rex, slow down and peep that thing. Lots of history in downtown Pensacola, and I applaud the church for reviving, improving, and maintaining a little part of it.
