Once inside, the owner pointed me towards the maternity clothes and I forgot all about the kid! I've been putting off buying maternity clothes because it's kind of hard to get to excited to spend tons of money on clothes that I will only wear for three months, and I feel like a sausage.....which doesn't help. Anyway, even though there were only a few racks of clothes of each type (dresses, tops, pants), there was no picking through junk to find something good because it all looked good. All the clothes were in fanatastic shape and from big name stores like Motherhood and they were CUTE!!! I tried on piles of stuff and wound up with two great work skirts, a pair of jeans, two work appropriate dresses, and five shirts for $82! WOW. The baby and kid clothes looked nice, too, but I was in a hurry to make off with my score and go to Ocean State Job Lot to buy junk I don't need and food that only looks good under their flourescent lights and then is not so appealing at home. But I digress - if you are on a budget, need some maternity clothes that don't look like gramma's housecoat, and are in the South Shore area - check this place out!

We signed up for the "mixed ages" (birth through age five) class. But I worried because we had never taken any type of class before and she has a tendency to become shy or clingy to me. Plus - we would be bringing my three month old son with us. Well - she and her brother absolutely love it and my daughter is really coming out of her shell!!!! The teacher, Rosemary, is so kind, patient, and fun. All of the songs and activities are perfect for this age group. If you arrive early, there are books set out for you and your child to look at. The class starts with a song that welcomes each student to the class. There are all different types of fun, interactive dances and marching that use props like colorful scarves or bells. And of course - plenty of times where the kids get to use different musical instruments like egg maracas or drum sticks. My daughter especially loves the songs that let them choose from a whole bin of various musical instruments. The class ends with "sparkle dust" chimes, blowing out the lights, lullabies, stamps and time to touch the teacher's guitar. The time just flies by and everyone seems to enjoy it as much as we do! We have met a lot of really wonderful families and children through this class as the environment is such a friendly and welcoming one. An added bonus is that they give you a book and CD of the songs to take home with you. My daughter just loves listening to the songs in the car now. I would definitely recommend this place!!!

That introduction blossomed into a weekly activity that my oldest daughter and I were able to share for almost three years, and still lives on when we turn on any of the themed soundtracks (each session comes with a two CD set to listen to at home). I am SO excited to introduce the classes to my twins starting this session - they already know the music so I can't wait to see their reaction to the class! Gwyn and her staff offer a warm, relaxed, comfortable environment that allows kids the chance to explore instruments and sound, music and movement. It is also a great place where we can start teaching even the youngest of participants about how to interact socially with their peers. Best of all, music classes are a place where children and their caretakers can spend the whole lesson time just having fun and being silly with each other. A couple of pointers to help you really get the best out of your sessions: * Save snacks, drinks and loveys for after class. These will only distract your child from the fun! * Be prepared to participate! Our kids take their cues from us, so we need to show them that it's okay to sing out loud, dance around and be silly! Your session instructor will really appreciate it. *You'll get a CD at the beginning of each session for you to listen to at home - use it! It's REALLY amazing to watch the progress of your kids over the course of the session. I would frequently find my daughter humming or singing the songs from class while she was playing with her toys.
