Also, the garage DOES go through to the back of the building where The Painting Place is - so the directions are correct. It was much easier to get there this time when I realized it was a pull-through garage under the building lol.... They even had pre-made paint palettes as an option. They also have some pottery pieces and things you can paint and take home the same day, but you can't eat from those items as they don't go thru the kiln. There wasn't a ton of variety in the pottery pieces to choose from, and the prices were a bit high compared to what I've seen in the past. We enjoyed our time. There were only two other parties there so it was very quiet and peaceful. Tip: if you use GPS for directions, it'll point you to the building across from theirs. They're right across from the Russian School. Their sign is a bit hidden. They do have a free parking lot.

If that aspect of the business isn't specifically advertised, it can be a bit off putting for someone who doesn't know what they're walking into. Our biggest issue stems from that fact that this place took pictures of my children and put them on their social media. My wife reached out via chat on Instagram and was ignored. My wife called the business and talked directly to the owner and was met with indifference. She said that the Instagram account was ran.by someone else and she would reach out before pushing my wife off the phone. It was eventually removed and replaced, sarcastically, with a picture of my children with yellow smiley faces blocking them. The Instagram account also blocked my wife who only asked for the pictures to be removed. It wasn't until after this that we saw that she also posted pictures of our children to FACEBOOK and those weren't removed. We tried calling again, during business hours, and the phone was off. So I went there and spoke to her myself. I explained to her that putting images of children is against Rhode Island law. After making me wait, she got on her own phone and all of a sudden had access. She deleted the pictures and I went on my way. I don't recommend this place unless you're a religious zealot looking to spend the afternoon with an insufferable Karen who thinks breaking the law is ok because she's "always done it."

They also give you clear instructions and suggestions. I decided to paint a spoon rest, something I've been looking for- functional and pretty. It cost around $24 which was fair pricing. While picking what to paint, keep in mind you have around 1.5-2hrs. So plan accordingly! After our painting, they text you within 10 days and you can go pick up your masterpiece. You can paint a sculpture or a dish that you can actually use for food. You don't take your painting home with you so no paint all over your car. We ended up leaving because he was still helping the large party. I did not want to spend my money at a place that made us get a "reservation" and then proceeded to ignore us. For a place that charges so much for there pottery pieces I would think they could have more staff working on a Saturday. I was also shocked that their store was so dirty and cluttered. Seriously, it is so bad. The bathroom was also disgusting . I had high hopes for this place but was very disappointed.
