Two surgeries in four moths…read more In early March of 2018 I was working out, and tore the meniscus in my knee. I was referred to Brad Drescher and as luck would have it, I got in during the same week that I called. My first impression of Brad was one of the most compassionate docs I had ever met, and one who explained the least invasive therapy all the way thru to Surgery. I of course, took the least invasive route to start. I'm a commercial real estate broker and travel back and forth between Colorado Springs and Denver several times a week. I found that I was in so much pain after driving for even 30 minutes, I could barely walk when I got out of car - I knew I had to get the surgery. What I liked is that he told me everything that was going to happen during the surgery and during my recovery. Recovery went exactly as he said it would and today my knee is great. I met numerous times during recovery with Robert Valdez, PA who took care of me like I was his only patient! Somehow in the fall of 2018 - I hurt my left foot. Because I live in Denver, I saw an Ortho here in town. He said I had dislocated the bones in left foot and it would require extensive surgery. I decided to get a second opinion, and since I trusted Brad, and was existing patient, they took me in quickly and gave the exact same diagnosis. Dislocated toes! Due to the fact that I had such a good experience with my knee, I again saw Brad, and without much ado, the surgery was scheduled and completed. I was on crutches for six weeks, then into walking boot, then lighter boot. During the recovery, I again saw Robert Valdez, as well as Brad. The team that Brad has assembled, including Sue his nurse, is Steller! Service and compassion; that is their business and they are great at it. By the way I'm 75 years young and still going strong thanks to Brad Drescher.

I…read morevolunteered via AARP placement after moving from Los Angeles to Colorado Springs & I really enjoyed answering phones, which used some of my skills as a counselor & therapist, now retired. (UC Santa Cruz CA & Dual Master's Program in clinical & transpersonal psychology, JFK University, Orinda CA). Somehow gossip got started about how I went into someone's office & threatened them & that I also asked to shadow another worker in the same dept. Absolutely untrue & so unprofessional! To be frank, I think they were threatened just because I have a lot of work experience & accolades for it, some of which was on my resume, which HR passed around for everyone to read, a total violation of the law. I was completely unaware of the level of contempt they had for me, with absolutely no justification whatsoever. I was then fired for reporting senior abuse of a 70 year old woman to Adult Protective Services (with my immediate supervisor's request and approval that I call in the report), when suddenly the next level supervisor appeared at my desk & insisted that all I'd needed to do was call the police, which was her idea of what to do. I said, "I beg to differ because . . ." She cut me off and had me fired. The staff at Silver Key is highly dysfunctional to put it politely. The shock and negative impact of that experience at Silver Key in the context of my many years of committed employment as a respected & effective teacher, counselor & therapist has been long-lasting and especially hard on me as an older senior (I am now 83) who trusted I was still doing good work in the world as an elder. Find other agencies where you can volunteer because the Silver Key staff is untrustworthy, unpredictable, small-minded, & unprofessional. They lie & gossip like high schoolers. (I'm also a lifetime credentialed State of California secondary teacher in reading, writing & literature, as well as French & Spanish. I've seen more integrity & maturity in 16-year-olds who were my students & in those who were my counseling clients than in the staff at Silver Key). It was an experience of utter betrayal by an agency that supposedly cares about and respects seniors - not lie about you behind your back when you're volunteering with the goal of making a difference in a small way, but instead fire you because though you did the right thing, their fragile ego was bigger than any commitment to doing the right thing. You would think that the Silver Key staff would extend the respect & care they claim to hold for all seniors to the volunteer seniors working there. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to volunteer to work with the Silver Key staff. Nepotistic, gossipy, dishonest, unprofessional, mean-spirited, totally dysfunctional, untrained staff. Find somewhere else to volunteer. ZERO STARS.

I was greeted upon arrival and…read morechecked in promptly; they were not to crowded but, getting their patients in and out in a timely fashion. I waited maybe about 5 minutes before being called to the back for my appointment. Was very nice and polite. She asked all the questions and put everything into my chart. She said Dr. Howarth would be in shortly. I waited about 10/15mins. Dr. Howarth finally came in. He was just as nice as always. We talked about how I was feeling fatigued, the pain in the groin area and the muscle spasms I have at night. We also discussed the physical therapy and how that was going. Let me know to get me some magnesium to help with what I got going on. I'm satisfied with the surgery and everything that has happened so far. So no complaints on my part. I do recommend him to family and friends. I got a chance to see Taneisha on my way out. She's one of the bestest. She made sure durning this process I got to get everything that was needed to help with recovery and healing... All I Can say is his staff "ROCKS"!!! Keep up the good work ladies:-)

My wife, Suzanne Smith, had a hip replaced by Dr. William Howarth 5 May 26. Her post Op follow up…read morewith Dr. Howarth was delayed two weeks. My wife got so ill, I had to take her to the emergency room. The emergency room doctor; Dr. Crawford; ran tests and indicated the joint looked infected. He called in the standby surgeon to open the wound, clean it out and do a revision (Replace the socket lining and the ball. My wife had to spend five days in St. Francis hospital recovering and was placed on infusion treatments for six weeks after discharge. She just completed the forth week. This has been a nightmare for Suzanne and I. We don't know what the outcome will be. Type of care was poor. Quality was poor. Office experience gave us the impression that the staff could careless. If I had not taken her to the ER and waited until the delayed post OP follow up, the infection could have gone into her blood stream and infected her whole body. This is what the nurse who helped with the procedure that confirmed the infected hip.
