It's wild to me when a lady who's the only checker is just standing there seeing our family struggle with all our items for self checkout just stands there watching there and doesn't offer to check us out but offers another family after us. I had not been to this location in a very long time. I stopped by to get a few vegetables. The zucchini looked good but the yellow squash was not the best quality. The Apples were great. A price of a loaf of bread that I glanced at was $8 I was specifically looking for cipollini onions. They did not have any. They had. I don't live in Albuquerque, I drive there often to run errands, go to appointments and my weekly grocery shopping moment. I often go to different Sprout's locations in Albuquerque. I frequent this location the most due to the proximity to a lot of the other places I go to. Today I was reminded why I appreciate the Sprouts on Lomas the most. I was not having the best day. I know, I walked in, in a somber mood. I was pleasantly surprised and grateful for the workers, being aware and politely talkative. There are some great people working in the produce department and I appreciate them all very much. Y'all are awesome people and thanks for being cool even when I walked in with a bad attitude. I left feeling like I let go of some things I didn't need to carry. I repeat, I have gone to all of the other Sprouts in Albuquerque and no one has ever been as chill yet kind as these workers. This is our go-to store. I love their fruits and vegetables. I had great luck with the fresh fruit being perfectly ripe this year. I love their premade meal section. The salmon dinner is terrific. I like the skirt steak, too. The frozen section could use some more vendors. Otherwise I love this store. I hope the Rio Rancho store will be even better! read more

Unfortunately, I just left sprouts on Lomas. The cashier was extremely rude to this elderly lady, asking for clarification on being over, charged on a receipt. The girl was huffing and puffing sarcastic, her name was Valerie she was impatient and just downright rude. Then she starts ringing me up and asked me if I want a bag and I said "yes I don't have one and she replied I'm just here trying to help you. I said yes I don't have a bag! At that point I decided not to purchase my groceries and she's like OK goodbye to me and the older lady! Very rude and dismissive ! called the managers and they were not any more helpful than the cashier. I will never shop at sprouts again, plus it's just over priced! Love the store except for the deli crew. Acknowledge us! Maybe a wave and a "We'll be right with you" or a smile? Especially during the noontime sandwich rush. Or don't make sandwiches at all. Very rude staff yesterday, October 5th. 6 deli people back there and not one of them acknowledged the 5 people waiting to be helped. Then I was told by the big guy back there to "Be Patient." Good supermarket for non-Albertson's/Smith's/Wal-Mart food shopping. Yes, Whole Foods is just down the street and the Co-op's not too far either, but don't tell me you're gonna drive all the way to Trader Joe's. Also, the prices at Sprouts are often so cheap, I feel like I'm getting away with a crime by shopping there. The coffee selection is diverse, and often on sale. I don't mind grinding a pound or so when I visit. I'm also fond of the fish counter, where I once got swordfish steaks for $6.99/lb. Most nights, a tuna steak or salmon fillet do just fine. There's also an expensive wine section, and plenty of beer and liquor options, including many local brews and some mainstream favorites. The deli is also on point, and they make sushi here I've got some gripes, though. Sometimes people with dozens of items will get in front of me at the express lane, violating my sense of justice. Other times, sale items run out very quickly, once ruining an evening of kale salads and foie gras. But all in all, this is a decent, wholesome grocery, and I enjoy shopping here. read more

I have loved this place for the past 5 years and it's always had the most character of the other sprouts. The long lines were annoying but they just put in self check out and it is effing horrible. Seriously just ruined my and my roommates shopping experience-and we LOVE grocery shopping (like, weirdly love it) I'm also not some incompetent boomer, I'm a millennial who grew up with this technology I know how to do it, but I don't want to at the grocery store. Tonight they had no cashiers on duty so I had no choice but to do self check out and I hated it and won't be coming to this sprouts again. Seriously why not just fill the cashier kiosks that you already have instead of creating a bigger problem to the already existing problem of long lines. Horrible. They always have really great digital coupons and surprise receipt coupons , my father is 91 and get reoccurring infections from needing a catheter now, the probiotics ARE NOT cheap, but the sales they have and coupons have helped a lot with taking care of him the best I can. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, I feel welcomed and appreciated when I'm in there. Not to mention the great selection of fruits veggies meats frozen canned and dry goods. We all know that this grocery store is pricey! As a food blogger, I only shop here for certain products that I need in order to make recipes. I would rather go to the "similar" grocery store but this was on my way home. This place is clean than the ones in CALI during after work rush hour. I'm super surprised that ABQ folks don't hit up the salad bar. A lot of people whom I have met told me that ABQ are more meat eaters than plant-based or vegetarian/vegan. The bulk bins are worth exploring. You all need to jump at that section. They have a variety of mixed nuts and affordable grains which is what I came in for. I got side tracked on the pre-made meals near the deli section. I was wondering why there was a swarm of people there. Then I saw the sign - SUSHI WEDNESDAY! $5 Sushi Specials. Theres a good amount of different sushi's like California Rolls and Crunch Rolls. I grabbed 3 of those boxes. They're okay. They tastes better than the ones that have been sitting there for a couple of days. Lines are long here but it would be nice if they had more cashiers who talk less to speed up the flow of the lines......... read more

I always find what I need, and am often am surprised to find items I didn't expect at a small store. The fruits and veggies are the big draw for our family. But now there are a number of items we use that are always marked on out list under the sprouts section. The employees are helpful and friendly. This market has improved dramatically in the last year or so. I've been told to improve my diet, due to several medical problems, and this market makes eating healthy much more affordable. There was a time, some years ago, when going in there was traumatic. It was like walking into a disco. I couldn't hear myself think. And the employees were somewhat diffident. But lately, the experience has been much more pleasant and I was able to find some lovely frozen, wild-caught salmon that was just what the doctor ordered. There are plenty of fresh organic veg, as well as my favorite winter fruit - hard fuji persimmons. The checkout clerks have been very friendly, as well as efficient. The clerk who helped me out to my car was very kind to this old disabled lady. If you want to shop at a market that has healthy FOOD as its focus, this is the place. read more

A year into the pandemic seems to have weighed heavily on the customer service skills of the staff at this Sprouts location. I've shopped at each location in the Albuquerque area, and this one on Lomas Ave is the closest to where I live, which is near Los Lunas. What was once a courteous, knowledgeable staff willing to assist a customer locate just the right item they sought, has somehow devolved, become discourteous, much less knowledgeable of the stores products and far less willing to fulfill their customers requests. Mind you, its only a few employees out of the daytime staff , yet it doesn't take more than that to affect how a customer feels spending time and money shopping at a particular store. My final visit to this particular store was earlier today. My initial contact was at the entrance, a young man welcoming customers ,assisting them in getting clean,sanitized grocery cart, or, in my case, a similarily sanitized electric cart for the differently abled. This young man was courteous, smiled when he greeted customers and was quite helpful getting me a cart.. He made my entry easy and comfortable, like he was glad to be of service. A promising start. My next contract was with what appeared to be a frazzled, overworked stocker that seemed disturbed by my request for one of the thicker produce bags that used to be easy to find at Sprouts. He hadnt a clue what I was asking about, and appeared unwilling to help. I said, dont worry, I'll ask another worker,and moved on. I found 2 more staff, and was referred to a 4th staffer. She was relatively new at the job,but was at least willing to help. She apologized for not having them available, and offered to make sure more of the bags were available for my next visit. A uptick in customer service at last!. My next stop,at the meat and seafood department, was a real treat, as the clerk was knowledgeable of his available products, suggesting several alternatives to what I was looking for and ended up being a true professional in his trade. I count him as the highlight of my mostly dismal visit. I'll end my review here, as the checkout was pretty much neutral in helping me complete my visit. My final comment is a short suggestion to the managers and owners of this Sprouts location: your customers can choose wherever they feel gives them the best value and ease when shopping. There are many choices in a large city like Albuquerque, and your salaries come from your customers spending time and money at your store. Better training and supervision are crucial to providing an eccellent shopping experience to your customers. Without good service and value, you will lose more than the occasional dissatisfied customer. read more

Sort of a combination of Trader Joe's and Whole Foods with a neighborhood farmer's market plopped in the middle; Really good prices across the board. Fully half the space is taken up by excellent, local produce, which is often much cheaper than that from the nearby Whole Foods. Like a TJ's, they also carry an extensive set of low-cost store brand (such as cereal - 2 boxes for $5). Plus they have a fairly funky selection of snack foods and bulk items. Unlike a TJ's, however, you CAN get most (or all) of your grocery shopping done here. My sister's family has shopped at this Sunflower Market regularly since it opened; They also swear by the meat dept., which offers high quality at very competitive prices. Though I didn't see this for myself, the meat counter plays videos of the ranches from where they get their beef, to keep customers fully informed. Cool idea. There is also a liquor, beer and wine section, though we were there 20 minutes too early. Arrgh. (No alcohol sales before noon on Sunday in NM). I wish Sunflower was near my house! read more

Much like other Sprouts locations, this spot has a terrific selection...all of which look super fresh. Merchandise is always well stocked and prices are pretty easy to find, too. Unfortunately, I am usually faced with crazy lines and long wait times, as I'm trying to check out. Some cashiers are nice, but I've had some that seem disinterested. The last time I checked out, the cashier was so busy on the phone, she didn't seem to notice my attempts to get her attention. In fact, she didn't acknowledge me until I was rung up and the grocery bag was packed, so I let her know at that time I was trying to tell her I didn't need a bag. At that point, she removed my items from the bag she had already packed and threw out the new plastic bag. I guess she wasn't a tree hugger? Further, not one employee said anything to me or offer help...which has been my experience there in the past. So, overall...great products, but bad service here. read more

Good produce is hard to find in stores locally. At least, that is my experience. Sprouts generally has good quality produce at fair prices, and you can often find items on sale. This Sprouts happens to be the one closest to home, but I also like it the least. It does have the same quality produce as other stores, but it is often not very clean and not organized. It doesn't matter the time of day I find myself here, I always have a somewhat frustrating shopping experience. The location makes the frustration worth it, I suppose. Parking here can be a nightmare. It's a very busy parking lot, and there are often panhandlers in the parking lot as well. read more

I wanted vitamins, and after finding what I wanted to buy, I noticed the security guard looking at me, I'm a black male, traveling health care worker. I don't know anything about Albuquerque, New Mexico, but I do understand the stares and that people act on their prejudices, I will take myself and my money somewhere else like Amazon or Whole Foods. It didn't used to be and the sandwiches were okay before canola (organic or otherwise), but now I don't buy anything with ingredients I don't trust. read more

He helped me with an after wedding event and made sure that I had plenty of fresh fruit and veggies and helped me to figure out exactly how much I would need. Been there fairly often but today was not so good. Needed help and they have plenty of employees but they fail to make eye contact. Asked for assistance and a produce worker begrudgingly called for help. Ten minutes later I couldn't wait any longer. The cashier had zero personality. This store has so much potential, but horrendous wait times & equally horrendous customer service make it a huge grocerying gamble. Tonight, I was charmed by Christine, who opened a third, yes there were only two lanes open previously, to check out & chat up a fellow employee, who was in such a hurry to check out, that he jumped in front of all the other non-employee customers. While disregarding his previous hurry & chatting up the cashier, I pointed out to him that he was being asked whether or not he'd like cash back, & as he had been in a hurry to hop in front of all of us, I thought he'd like the reminder. He moved on. Christine then regaled me with her winning personality, rolling her eyes that I interrupted her chat sesh & ignoring my failed Apple Pay, as her back was turned to me as she waited for me to pay. (Imagine the extra annoyance when she had to tell me my Apple Pay attempt failed). Shame on me for lusting after efficiency in the grocery store checkout line at 7:30pm on a Monday night. Sprouts, you're making good efforts, & though slightly closer (to my house) & slightly cheaper, a Whole Foods you are not. May I suggest an evaluation of operational procedures to increase efficiency (as noted in a myriad review), as well as you not hire just anyone with a pulse.
