Sprovieri's Custom Counters provided me with a truly amazing experience while moving into my new home last year - making the kitchen in my new home nearly unrecognizable and seemingly opening up the entire first floor with spectacular countertops. The quartz countertop was clean looking, professionally installed, and the farmhouse sink has been a blessing for all of the dishes my children manage to go through. Joe was knowledgeable and insightful to the materials and area we were referencing and with a few visuals of our new home [taken off the internet] he was able to provide open and honest feedback about what he perceived would be fit our space and price point. This year Joe helped us out by returning to our home to seal a crack that was caused by a dropped casserole dish landing on the corner of the countertop causing a slight chip in the quartz. The last phase of my kitchen project was my counters. I wanted something nice, but budget friendly and found it through Home Depot. Home Depot outsources local countertop fabrication and installation orders to Sprovieri*, however you could deal with them direct. My HD rep told me that I would get a call a few days after my order to schedule a measurement and as promised, I did. Since, at that point, my kitchen project was still in the conceptual stages, I didn't actually interact with Sprovieri again for about a month. Scheduling my appointments for measurement and installation were very simple. I interacted with the same person each time (Julie?) and had no trouble getting convenient times. I got a 4 hour window and then, the evening before I received a confirmation call with a much smaller window. The measurement appointment was fantastic, the guy arrived right on time, took exactly 20 minutes as he projected, answered all of my questions and was out the door. They also followed up to double check they had the proper sink model on file for the cut out. My countertops were ready very quickly, sooner than I was expecting. Like before, the installers arrived promptly and had my counter knocked out in no time. Before they left, they explained initial care for the countertop, checked that the faucet fit the hole they cut, and went over regular cleaning and maintenance. I am thrilled with my counters, they look amazing and I've already received a few compliments. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Sprovieri to anyone considering a countertop job. * I'm not sure if Sprovieri deals with all HD countertop orders, but they definitely handle Staron, one of the solid-surface countertop options. read more

I would not use them again. When I went the first time to the store a lady helped me and was supposed to order me the samples for my kitchen I requested and never did. I went back and had to start all over again. For my bathroom I picked two rement pieces, they tagged one wrong and installed it. They blamed me saying that was the one I picked. The second piece was marble and the moment water would get on it, a mark was left. I had someone come out 2 times to reseal it and still the same issue. Again I was blamed for leaving too much water on it. The third time I called they said that they would only come out if I paid the remainder of the balance that was outstanding for the rement pieces and they would use a high end sealer, not sure that wasn't used from the start. A year and half later I call because my back splash has was it looks like water dripping down, had that when it was installed too. I was told by Tom to call an 800 number.. he could care a less.. My parents used them too, they bought quartzite. When the installers were there, they left if you side and their dolly rolled off the sidewalk and the piece broke.. Really wish their customer service was better because they have great options but won't be able to use them again. read more

Sprovieri's is truly the best place for countertops. We have used Sprovieri's for our kitchen remodel, bathrooms & laundry room. I have had other places around Chicagoland give us quotes, but no one even comes close to Sprovieri's prices. Only a 3 day time frame to get an appointment for a measurement (which is a really high tech process with lasers - no gluing wood pieces to make a template) and the counters fit PERFECTLY, matching every quirky part of an older, settled home. (The lead time to install is 15 working days from approved drawings after measure.). Their shop is HUGE & runs fabricating shifts round the clock - so the installation is a quick turnaround too. Sounds too good to be true, but this is real. Also, they do such a huge volume of fabrication, their remnant area is MASSIVE! They have a standard, amazing price on ALL remnant pieces. Also, they can send you to many different stone yards to choose your slabs, allowing you to find whatever you need from real stone to modern quartz. I would only use Sprovieri's for countertops. read more

I have been stuck in kitchen renovation purgatory for months now. I have had difficulties with almost everyone that I had to deal with - from minor inconveniences to major issues. With the exception of Sprovieri's. I actually purchased my countertop through Home Depot and Sprovieri's is the fabricator/insaller that they contracted with. They man working at Home Depot was not able to answer many of my most basic questions (like how do the they do the edge with frameless cabinets) but the man from Sprovieri's who came to measure was very knoweldgeable and explained everything to me. The countertop came in and was on time and fit perfectly and looks great. Two different men came to install the countertop and they were really wonderful. Somehow, the fact that I needed a lazy susan installed into the countertop did not make it onto the work order. They installed it anyway and even went the extra step of putting it all together which they did not have to do. On top of having a quality and timely product, everyone from the office staff to the installers was really nice. I need some nice after the boatloads of attitude I have gotten these past few months. I guess I wouldn't say that I've experienced better, but my experience with Sprovieri's Custom Counters is nothing that I want to try again. They came recommended by a good friend whose recent foray into renovations has left us utterly impressed. Anyone would look at her bathroom or kitchen and ask for advice. M did most of the footwork with Sprovieri's. She measured the counters, went to the shop and selected some quartz speckled with shades of brown and black. Next she signed a contract, paid, and scheduled a time for someone to come measure the counters again. This whole process took months. M said the shop has weird hours. I think it has a lot to do with M's self-proclaimed penchant for procrastination. I was home for the Sprovieri's man to do the measuring. He made small pencil marks on our laminate counters and then set up metal plates in intervals along the edges. Next, he rigged up a laser measuring device on a tripod that took the measurements. This particular Sprovieri's man was quiet, polite enough, and seemed trustworthy. Next, M set up an appointment for the counters to be installed. This was more complicated than it seems. We had to call the maintenance people in our building to shut off the water the night before so that the sink could be removed. Once again, I was home for two Sprovieri's men to come for the installation. These were two different men who babbled to one another in Spanish referring to me as a "gringa" the whole time. I also overheard them comment that the small counter between the stove and the wall was cut too big. Their solution? Make a hole in the drywall and bang in the edge of the counter until it fit. They left a glaring hole in the wall, the counter at an angle, and the stove no longer flush along the wall behind it. Our maintenance guy explained that it is normal for countertop people to try to bang excess counter into the wall; however, they really should recut it instead. M emailed Sprovieri's about the problems: 1) That the counter was too big 2) That there was now a hole in the wall 3) That the stove no longer fit because the counter was at an angle The person who responded to the email was apologetic and agreed to send people out to fix the problem. They fixed it well enough but it was also pretty clear that they are not skilled in the plaster/dry-wall department. Later, we had another problem with the counter on the other side of the kitchen. That counter was also at an angle (we didn't notice before) and kept our new refrigerator from fitting into its space. This time we chose to have our building maintenance guy to fix it. He did a MUCH better job than Sprovieri's. read more

Unfortunately, my experience with Sprovieri's Counters was very bad. Every edge was cut to short. Thick amounts of Caulk was applied to try and hide the poor measurements. I have been waiting for a replacement counter top for 3 months. They brought out a new counter top two times and it was worse than the original counter top. My builder "Plote Builders" hired Sprovieri's Counters to supply my new home with countertops that were measured incorrectly. Be careful with this company don't let your builder force you to use this company. There are many other countertop companies out their that will do a much better job. read more

They don't deliver after work hours and took forever to the measurement done. Then, they said they would be here between 1-3pm and did not get here until 3:45pm. The counter top looks nice, but it should. That is their job. Home Depot subcontracted them and I will not go through Home Depot ever again. read more
