My husband and I stopped by last weekend looking for some hardy ground cover for our wooded shady dry hillside. The owner suggested dwarf crested isis, a local low growing perennial with blue-violet spring flowers. Picked up three to plant early in the season. Looking forward to stopping by next month to see what new plants are available.

Arcadia Natives nursery is an amazing place that is just a few years young, right outside Washington, PA, in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The plants are mostly hand grown on site by one woman, Kelly Strope, who fell in love with everything native and is providing the bones to recreate an ecosystem to replace our world gone wrong. If the creatures who are integral to our area can't find the food to survive and reproduce, we're in trouble. Kelly has lovingly grown the most beautiful plants you can purchase anywhere in the area. She has also created an easy to use library of downloadable and print ready plant cards for reference, besides an eagerness to answer any questions during your visit about starting or maintaining your gardening experience. I can't recommend her enough!

Big Lots is a discount retail chain that has locations across the United States. I shopped at this…read moreparticular Big Lots in Washington, PA one time. During my visit, I saw a wide variety of merchandise. I saw couches, rugs, electric fireplaces, clothing, shoes, children's toys, bedding and other linens, cleaning supplies, foods and beverages, health and beauty products, pet supplies, small electronics, holiday decorations, etcetera. I specifically looked for kitchen towels and slippers, but I did not find any in either my preferred color or size. Instead, I ended up buying only a toothbrush, toothpaste, and wrapping paper. I felt surprised that the large roll of wrapping paper was on clearance for only $0.74! The cashier accurately rang up my merchandise, and she gave me change for my small purchase. I must admit that the couches here were comfortable and cost only a few hundred dollars. Perhaps I should buy another couch for my basement...

Big Lots has an impressive selection of everything under the sun that you might want…read more Unfortunately, their inventory management is so poor that if you are looking for something specific they claim to have, you will never find it. Came here with a simple goal: find Archway Molasses Cookies (the original regular kind, not the iced kind), an item their online portal claimed this location had plenty of. When I visited to try to find them, it was a pain to even find where the cookies were in general, let alone the Archway varieties. When I did locate them, the one I wanted was not to be found. I waited in line in the front of the store only to be told that they could not look up my item, and I had to go check with the employee in their furniture area. If that makes sense to you, you're a better man/woman than I. The furniture section employee was kind enough to check to see if there were any in the back, though after ten minutes he returned to say that there weren't any and their numbers must be wrong. So, this begs the question: what is the point of even having an online, customer-facing inventory if the store makes no effort to keep it up to date? This is a problem that seems to be prevalent in many brick and mortar stores these days, which should tell you something about the future of such entities. Given my experience with this, I doubt I will return to a Big Lots any time soon. It shouldn't be this hard for a customer to hunt down a product. Overall: 3.0 stars --- Pros: - Good overall selection of goods, though it was mostly in disarray. - Plenty of parking in the lot outside. - Nice of the furniture section guy to check for us... Cons: - ...though I'm still unclear why the cashier couldn't check when we had waited a while to get up to them. - The Big Lots inventory management system is less than useless, and it takes a conscientious team to make it work.

Their two delivery guys were 10 minutes early. i've had dozens of appliances delivered from other places. Nothing was more pleasurable than dealing with JT and Jaden. They were the best delivery guys I ever dealt with and I am 70 years old. We are so pleased with our purchase and we saved so much money with their new scratch/dent appliances. I couldn't even tell where the scratch or dent was. What a place. I love supporting the small business store too in lieu of the big box stores who do not care and are overpriced. Do not hesitate to visit their store. You'll agree 100% with me. I guarantee it. We purchased a refrigerator and washing machine. Couldn't be more pleased with our purchase.

We purchased a matching Maytag set and brought it back to Pittsburgh ourselves. We had issues with the dryer, not sure why or what caused it, but Beck's took the dryer back with no issues. We came home the same day with a GE dryer. That was 4-5 years ago. The washer and dryer are still working perfectly. The funny thing is that the Maytag Bravos is rated as one of the least reliable washers ever made, but Beck's must have solved whatever problems it had because we torture that poor thing and it just keeps on washing. The dryer (gas) has also not had a single issue. So don't worry about buying used from Becks...it might be better than new!
