Wonderful staff starting with Richard who checked us in. He wasn't very strict with the time we had to come back. Although we didn't need the extra time it was appreciated. Squam lake is the quiet sister to Winnipesaukee, and what better way to enjoy it than with a sail boat out kayak. Besides the regulars, who either dock here or come to put their boat in here, there is a great rental shop. It is a wonderful gateway to kayaking the lake, which is generally calm. It is also possible to head out from here to one of the camping islands on the lake. Easily accessible with a sail boat, but also by paddling. One thing to note - squam is a no jet ski lake, although motorized boats are allowed. read more
