The Wake Winni team picked is up at our dock and promptly took our tour of eight out on the waters of Lake Winne for 6 hours. We skied, tubed and "surfed some tasty wake" while have a great day on the water. Josh and Dom are expert navigators of the waters of Lake Winnipesaukee and great hosts. The are also great instructors. We had a few kids and a couple beginners in our group and Josh and Dom were patient and skilled at providing instructions and at one point even got on the surf board with one of our kids to get them up and surfing! We saw 2 nests with a loon hopefully incubating their eggs as well as 2 different families of loons with their chicks. We also came across a Common Merganser with her chicks resting on a rock. David keeps the ride smooth and Tiffany was a wealth of information! I love what they are doing to protect these beautiful birds! We would definitely return.

Get Ready, Get Set, Get Elevated!…read more Bottom Line Up Front: This is our second year using Elevated Wake and once again,e had a wonderful, enjoyable, vigorous and "elevated" time for a good price. For four hours, pre-teens to "teens in thier fifties" did it all; water skiing, swimming, wake surfing and "hyper-tubing." The Good: One word -- Captain Pat! Ok that is two words, but one name never to forget. Captain Pat was an experienced boat Captain and water sports instructor (has been doing this for 30 years) and knows in the Lake well. He got us underway on time, was prepared, and was a delightful host, instructor and DJ. We had three new water-skiers ages ranging from pre-teen to "salty" adult that Pat successfully got up on skis within a few tries. We had one new wake surfer that he had up within two tries. Pat was patient, experienced, and very insightful; he knew what to say and how to say it to each participant, literally and figuratively, and even-keeled. As far as tubing goes, with a few hand signals, the tubers are in control, and the speeds range from slow and steady, fast and furious, to ludicrous speed. Fun was had by all in our group. Four hours on the water was the sweet spot for our group of nine. We started on time and finished promptly on time. Captain Pat picked us up and dropped us off at our location on the lake. His company also provides services other lakes in the area, and offer boat rentals. The Bad: There was nothing bad! From start to finish, we had a wonderful time -- Pat was a great captain and host. He let us choose the music for each participant and he entertained all our questions. The Ugly: Other than my slalom ski attempts, there was nothing ugly! I highly recommend Captain Pat and Elevated Wake Company! If you find yourself in Lake Winnipesaukee, this is definitely an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. I've gone twice (afternoon cruises) and chosen the upper deck both times. If you or any of your guests have mobility concerns, be aware that there is a small and very narrow set of stairs to the top deck and patrons seem to rush to select their chairs. During boarding and disembarking is when the boat rocks the most, so be careful! Seating is first come first serve, and the seats are hard plastic folding chairs (i.e. no padding, which makes sense in case they get wet), but both times I've gone, the weather and the lake were calm and the ride was very smooth. Chairs are arranged in rows like a theater, so if you go with a date, you can't pair off from the crowd if that's what you are hoping. This is very much a family and friends type of outing. The captain narrates intermittently via speakers in an informative and sometimes humorous way, and it isn't at all obtrusive to conversation. Everyone politely stops talking to listen rather than trying to shout over the interesting details being shared, and now you have a new topic to discuss! People vacationing or living along the lakeshore wave cheerfully from their piers, decks, and yards as the boat cruises by, which adds an element of local charm to the outing. I haven't partaken of their packaged snacks, limited selection of mixed drinks, or beer, but all are available from the deck below. If you do go down the stairs to get something and are alone, you may lose your seat, as people are allowed to change locations throughout the ride, but no one is permitted to stand on the upper deck as a matter of safety (unless of course actively moving from one place to another). You can buy tickets at the boat or online, and there are discounts for AAA members and senior citizens. There is a famed ice cream shack near the boat launch that I haven't yet tried but reviews here on Yelp! are stellar.
