Serenity made it very easy to get and stay clean. I met with the Dr. and Councilor about every weekday to confirm how I was feeling/how the medication was working. They stress that they are not keeping you against your will. You may leave at any time but of course the staff will try to talk you out of it because they truly care. It is the same as going to any Dr.s Office, yes you pay for your own transportation to and from, however all meals and snacks are provided. Meetings are held every couple of hours and your able to go outside after each group and meal. I love that they use a tapering system and they don't wait for you to be in agony like a lot of other places where you're ready to pass out before they will give you meds (i.e. Spectrum).

He spent a great deal of time listening to my concerns in order to understand my condition. He also asked me a lot of follow up questions to pinpoint the root causes of my condition. He then explained to me, clearly, a therapeutic approach that includes lifestyle modifications and alternative options of treatments. He very well acknowledged my preferences of treatment options and tailored my treatment towards that. He finally advised me to see him again after a week to evaluate my initial response to the medicine. I really appreciate the whole-person approach that Dr. Marcus has used with me.
