I only had a drink here (electric lemonade), but I loved their live music and atmosphere. We did have an issue though because we had a group of 30 and had called ahead to let them know long before the day of the trip with the time we were coming. They assured us there would be fine, that we would have to sit wherever but both bars would be open. However once we got there, the manager was rude and told someone in our group that even though she had the staffing, she would not open the bar any before 4. We will not be returning for our annual trip next year due to her bad attitude. Such a shame because the view and music was great, but the manager refused to honor what had previously been promised to us. read more

I am giving one star as I can not give zero star. Went there last month several days for lunch. Just got my Am EX statement and among the normal charges of $40-$50 dollars (lunch for two) at the Square Grouper, there was a Square Grouper charge for over $600. On one of the days we were there for lunch, upon going up to pay my bill, I was told my card had not been swiped. This was not true, and I am certain of this as I recall giving them the card (as always before ordering anything), and as is their standing policy before ordering any drinks or food. I contacted Am EX to dispute the charge, and the next day Am EX rejected my dispute as they contacted the Square Grouper and they stated "the card was swiped". Later that day I called Am EX back, requesting a signed AM EX receipt. They reopened the dispute pending furhter communication with Sqaure Grouper. Am Ex also suggested I go the the Square Grouper to explain my dispute. Today, I went to the Square Grouper to request a signed AM EX receipt, and was told by them "they dont keep them". I pressed my inquiry with management, and was told to "leave the premises, and don't come back or I would be prosecuted for tresspassing". Watch your card carefully, they ripped me off, pending AM EX resolution. read more

We arrived mid-day and there were tables right up to the water. What a wonderful place to chill, have some drinks, some good casual food and hang with friends. The no frills, sit at a table with your feet in the sand with no muss or fuss was just what we needed on vacation. The mojitos.....AMAZING......TO DIE FOR! The bartenders Dana and Brie, were friendly, had great recommendations and made wonderful drinks! This is a great super casual place to hang out have some great drinks and just chill. read more

I was visiting Jupiter for a few days with friends & this place came recommended by a local so we tried it out on our first night & it was great! It was a Thursday night around 8 & they had an awesome band playing great music, great food, and such a beautiful view! Drinks were alright. My friends ordered the margarita which was ok & my piña colada wasn't the best. I'd definitely go back if I was in the area again. At night it comes alive where anything is possible from dancing under the moonlight to living in the moment with your friends. Tons of memories to be made while enjoying a day/night in one South Florida most amazing places on the water to relax and kick off your shoes, place your feet in the sand, let all your worries disappear and allow yourself to enjoy the life you are living here in beautiful South Florida. I have to say I've never rated a restaurant based off of this but there's a first for everything. Although the drinks were good, the view is outstanding, and they have live music.... Nothing can make up for the DISGUSTING bathrooms. I'd prefer a porta potty over those gender shared bathrooms any day. Absolutely horrid. Felt like I needed to leave and shower. Ew. read more

My girlfriend and I originally came here to get food and drinks and there was no tables really to eat. I would recommend this place as a great hangout spot for drinks after dinner. The live band on Saturday was good playing modern songs and everyone seemed to be having a great time. They have a variety of frozen drinks (my girlfriend got the frozen strawberry margarita and it was delicious when I tried it!) I saw some something last night that was UNFORGIVABLE. A staff member was tossing left over drinks onto the beach and into the water STRAWS INCLUDED. Especially as a local business it is a responsibility to protect our environment/waters and to set an example for everyone that comes into the restaurant. If this behavior was acceptable in-front of their customers, I can not imagine what is done behind the scenes. I love this place, but I am giving them a low rating because this behavior is unacceptable and action needs to be taken to make sure this is not happening. read more

The Square Grouper has a fabulous location and delicious drinks! The bar is 21+ and has three covered bars as well as tables in the sand shaded by palm trees. The view of the inlet and Jupiter lighthouse can't be beat. We had lunch and drinks on a weekday afternoon and all the tables right on the water were taken. Order meals at the bar and receive a buzzer to pick-up your food. I didn't mind this system because it was casual and it keeps costs down. I ordered a burger with no bun and a side salad and was surprised by how fresh and abundant the veggies were! My husband ordered the fish and chips and loved his meal. Prices were good and the food was solid. Extensive and festive drink menu but not too pricey. I imagine this place can get busy in the evenings but it is a fabulous place for drinks and lunch! read more

Well, it looks like a cute place on the water. Clean with sturdy and colorful chairs. One is free to let the (imported) sand slide between ones toes. We came for some dinner and a couple of drinks. We left after a clear lack of service. One in our group even went up to the bar to inquire on drinks. Blown off by a (not so busy) bartender. OK It did not look like that kind of place. The location is gorgeous, and you feel compelled to exclaim "it's five o'clock somewhere" as you revel in Alan Jackson's footsteps. However, the scramble for tables and the outrageously weak and overpriced drinks make this one not worth the trip. A must-visit if you're in the area, and if you're not, worth the drive. The Square Grouper is smack-dab across the water from the Jupiter Lighthouse. If you want to do the sunset/lighthouse thing, do it here. Food - not so much. The hot dog... pass. Hamburger will do, and now we've exhausted most of the menu. Spectacular setting. Very casual, no kids allowed- this is an adult place. Friendly service, but you have to run your own food. Clean enough. Decor is far better than a dive bar, but not touristy, even though it has a little too much merchandising. But, hey, it's Florida. The food is just ok, but the beer is cold and wow, what a setting. I was with my grandmother, so there was no pouring of anything tall and/or strong. Beer would have to do. We grabbed pretty much the last two seats that were available, up front right on the water. I had a Corona and watched pelicans fight over fish while my grandmother explained the history of Jupiter Inlet. Beat it, I dare you. This place gets crowded, so you may not always be able to grab a prime seat, especially in season. But if you're in this area, you need to stop by. read more

This is the bar that Alan Jackson filmed his It's five-o-clock somewhere video. I was told I need to check it out and the rum punch was awesome. Again, I am all about the tropical feel and that this is. It's a fun little tiki bar! There is some beach sand where you can sit, but it wasn't really deep enough to sink your toes in. Lot's of tables and chairs, two bars to sit at and lot's of memorabilia on the walls and ceilings. Most of this is an outside bar, there are see-through canvases to let down when it's too windy. I loved that there was a black cat that called the bar home. The rum punch was delicious, as were the bloody mary's. They have a very small selection of bar food, hamburgers, pretzels cheese sticks. If I'm ever back in Palm Beach, I will definitely check it out again! read more

The $10.00 Lighthouse Ice Tea was a near miss to happy. Next time beer for less than 1/2 that price. My dining partner was pretty upset with her Square Grouper Burger. I have to agree, if you don't read the fine print- you will end up with a BEEF Burger- Not GROUPER. I've been coming here for awhile and never realized that it was 21 and over. I just wanted to sit outside with a view of the lighthouse and have lunch with my 18yr old daughter. I've been to Square Grouper at least 100 times over the last 20 years. Typically love this place. But, came tonight on Sunday night, sat at the bar and moved my stool 6 inches to the left and got yelled at from the bartender that I was in the service area. There were not more than 20 people in the entire place, so I was not impeding on any server, or patrons, being able to reach the bar. When I asked him where I could put my Stool, he made a snide comment to another customer. Completely unprofessional and unwarranted seeing there were so few people at the bar. I love this place, but doubtful I'll be back. Is so sad that one employee can completely ruin a place. Had friends meet me at Dive Bar, had amazing service and ate and drank for an additional three hours. read more
