My grandson needed to change a clipless pedal to a flat one. He worked very hard to do it himself but the pedal was sooooo very tight it wouldn't move for him. Our neighbor recommended Squatch saying they were the best. Well, they are! We walked into a beautiful shop and were served immediately by a young man who knows bikes. They always fully explain what they think needs done for repairs, give me my options and I never feel any pressure or "up sell". New to the area and excited to discover the mtn biking scene, we stopped in here. And we loved it. I need to find out the gentleman's name who helped us bc he went aboveeeee and beyond what is expected. I loved his customer service and immediately developed a respect for his knowledge of bikes and all the areas to ride within an hour. It's a hard challenge going time in this industry due to covid and lack of products yet he didn't let that define what he was capable of for our first impression of this shop. We had a great time talking & stayed for a drink. We ended up buying tons of swag like t shirts and hats to promote their shop everywhere we go! An incredible shop with a warm welcome. read more

After the Hub screwed me, screwed up my bike, and the owner treated me like dirt I discovered this gem of a bike shop. The Hub told me that my rear hub was toast (surly ss Hub) and my single speed freewheel was stripped and seized and that I could purchase a new wheel set because mine was toast. They charged me $20 for all that. I took my bike to Squatch and I received something that had been missing in my life for sometime. They provided customer service. They gave me a beer, talked to me, and more importantly they fixed my bike. It took 30 minutes. They did not understand any of the line of bull that the owner of the Hub was trying to feed me. Pat the Squatch mechanic said, "what do you mean it's seized, why did they say your hub was toast"? I graduated from College years ago. If you want to go hang out with your fraternity brothers then go to the hub. If you want to hang out with supportive and cool mountain bikers go to Squatch. Squatch guys want you to be out there riding. They don't waste your time and try to take advantage of you. They provide good and accurate information. They believe that their customer base is important, and they treat you that way. They are not snobby and entitled individuals. The shop makes you feel valued. read more

This place is great! I went on a MTB tour in Brevard with Red Wolf MTB Tours and Seth's Bike Hacks in November 2017 and Squatch was the store recommended by Seth himself for bike rentals and whatnot. I wanted to ride my own bike so I shipped it from my LBS in Austin TX to Squatch in Brevard via BikeFlights. Squatch unboxed my bike, re-assembled it, and tuned it up for me so it was ready to ride when I picked it up. After the tour was over they cleaned it up and oiled the drive train for me, put it back in the box, and shipped it back to my LBS. They were 100% great to work with and did a perfect job of handling my bike (a big ol' Trek Farley EX) on both ends of the trip. I liked them so much I even bought a Squatch-branded stem cap and Squatch-branded ODI-style grip locks from them to put on my bike :-) Go to Squatch; they will take good care of you and your bike! read more

After reading online reviews and hearing about this place i was a little surprised at how small the shop was. But don't let that fool you they had everything my local bike shop had in some form plus way more. Crank brothers products, hope products, a full service bike shop, beautiful rental bikes, and quite a bit of their own branded merchandise line the walls. The staff members were both friendly and offered to show my friends and I plenty of trails on a map to ride while we were in town. Easy to say this stop made our vacation more enjoyable. read more

Used to be my favorite bike shop around, always honest on their repairs. Past three repairs I've been way overcharged, owner James just ballparks '15 minutes' when you know he spent two minutes adjusting your shifting...dishonest repair people used to ripping off tourists and don't take care of their local customers. Good motivation to buy my own tools and do it myself. There are also four other bike shops in the area that can do the same work, and if you go to the Hub you can watch them fix it and realize how quick simple repairs are. I guess their revenue model is based on a 'minimum time' in stand. $28 to adjust the low limit on your derailleur and 'fix the cable tension'? This literally takes one minute. No longer my local bike shop, if you want honest quick work go to one of the other bike shops in town. Squatch will probably do fine due to the constant stream of tourists coming through the area but I live here and am extremely disappointed in them. Not a local bike shop for locals, that's for sure. read more

I am visiting family in Brevard and stopped by Squatch bikes - what a great experience. In addition to having some of the coolest T's and jerseys I have seen, they also have top notch bikes and accessories. Riley dropped what he was doing to talk to my son about riding and helped us find some good trails suited to our preferences. Great place to rent a bike if you want to be scammed at the end of your ride. Great atmosphere, affordable, and provided a quality Mt. Bike that I rented which performed very well. It has potential to be a great place but they WILL nickel and dime you. I took the bike on some of the best trails the east coast has to offer. I never fell, I never dropped the bike. I brought the bike back and they had to "take a look at the bike". They found a "gouge" (which in reality was a 1.5" scratch) on the lower "frame guard" and said "uhhh, how about I charge you $10 to fix it, did you hit a rock?" Obviously, I was Mt biking, so no it was not a leisurely stroll down a Mountain road, but I took very good care of the bike. Clearly, it's a way they try to make extra money. I guess I should be happy they didn't try to stiff me for more. I won't be going back. Too many shops in this town to have to deal with a place like this. read more

I can't say enough great things about Mike and James at Squatch. I just got back from an amazing mountain bike ride (my first one EVER) in the Fawn Lake area of DuPont State Forest. From the moment I walked into the shop to inquire about renting a bike and joining a group ride, Mike and James took great care of me and made sure I had the right bike and fit. On the trail I was pretty nervous as it was muddy and root and rock-filled. In the beginning, James was the sweeper and he made sure I got through the various obstacles. I know I was riding ridiculously slow at times but he was so patient and understanding. There were some riders that needed to leave the ride early so James made sure they got back to the parking lot where we started. Another group regular, Brittany, took over as sweeper. She was just as kind and patient as James. It was a great experience and I'm glad I went.
