And after falling in love with her work, I contacted her to do a maternity shoot for my growing belly :) We booked out a few months, for when I would be between 7-8 months pregnant. My boyfriend and I had SUCH a fun time shooting with Melissa. She is an absolute sweetheart and made us both so comfortable. We never once got bored or felt awkward. She listened to what we wanted (my requests were far from demanding, we just wanted a few nice black & white prints.. and we both have tattoos so we wanted to look as tasteful as possible.. the rest was in her creative hands!) and she worked masterfully- quickly & precisely- behind that camera! When we did our ordering session, we had the hardest time picking out just a few to print.. but we finally narrowed it down to 6 favorites and we are so happy with the quality of the matted prints (I've got them all framed, they're just waiting to go up on the walls!) We have just scheduled our Baby's sessions! I'm not looking forward to that ordering session because I already know we are going to want them all haha! Whatever your photography need- boudoir, wedding, family, baby.. she does it all.. and she does it perfectly. She entertained my toddler to the family shots to get the most beautiful smiles out of her. She helped my husband and I pose in a natural yet flattering way. I sent them to a friend who had already booked her own newborn photo shoot and she said she regretted putting down a deposit with another photographer because she loved Nicole's style! Our baby was a bit fussy when she got here but she was patient and tried to get as many shots in between his cries, and then while I fed him she worked on setting up shots in the house and patio so we were good to go as soon as he calmed down. Once the baby was milk-drunk, we were able to really go to town and she got some incredible shots in! April was super sweet (she clearly loves babies!) but also really sharp. There was never an awkward moment (like, hmm what should we do next?). She was in charge and we all felt very relaxed as she guided us through each shot.
