The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I feel confident I'm getting the best care for my eyes! I see Dr. VanMeter for my regular eye exams. She takes the time to listen to me and makes sure I'm happy with my prescription. She always manages to dig up some samples for me, despite my not-too-common prescription. The exam rooms are spotless. It's a nice, quiet setting that's perfect for folks who experience appointment anxiety. This past year was my first time ordering glasses from the store, and I'd definitely order again. The staff were extremely helpful with my indecisiveness about the frames. They had great suggestions, and I ended up with a pair I love. I initially had some issues with the fit, and they encouraged me to return as many times as necessary to ensure I was comfortable with them. Their selection of frames are on the expensive side, but they seem to be worth the price. Things to note: There's a parking garage in the same building. You can access it through the alley to the left of the clinic. They have convenient online scheduling. They also offer an online contact ordering system, but it's a little confusing to use. In fact, Uptown Vision's prices beat almost everyone in the Twin Cities. Becca, the manager, is a fashion maven who knows what's in style and what fits your face. I am too particular, especially about tints, and Uptown Vision carefully reviews my color choices and shading percentages. Their frame selection is au courant, and they offer Blackfin, Masunaga, Andy Wolf, Maui Jim, and Dita, amongst others. Their optometrist is empathetic, listens, and thorough, plus Uptown Vision accepts most insurance policies. Trust me, it's the way to go in the Twin Cities.

It's not that hard to find the details on Google. Read the "fine print" (though maybe you need new prescriptions to read them lol) but they're very clear about what that includes: basic lenses, and their most economical frames (there's plenty to choose from). When you add high-index, scratch protection, etc. sure the price goes up, but that's the same for any store (in person or online) that sells glasses. As for "selling" of those options, I didn't get any aggressive tactics at all. They told me my extras and how much they would cost. I told them I was on a budget, and they were totally fine with it. (I did get the $20 extra thorough eye exams after spending like 3 minutes debating, and never got hurried on the decision.) The people working there aren't driving Ferraris either; they're hard working professionals so they understand where the customers are coming from too. Pickup was super good too. They had me test both glasses. They fit great, with prescriptions spot on. I can look at text, close one eye, then the other, and see no shifting or blurring, meaning that they are matched well for my rather poor eyes. It took maybe just 5 or 10 minutes. In total, I interacted with 5 people across the two times (including the eye doctor and the optometry tech) and they were all super nice and polite. I'd definitely go back.

My family has been going to her for as long as I can remember. She is an excellent eye doctor. She is ultra thorough and informative. However, the women working at the front desk, one in particular, is the face of incompetence. I feel bad for making such a strong statement, but sometimes people just need to speak up. Her appearance exudes laziness, attitude, and lack of interest in helping customers. She is the first person you see and speak with when visiting Dr. Murali's office. It's a shame that such an amazing doctor doesn't have a better front desk person.
