No judgement, its just scriptural how to be better and closer to God. They dont talk about controversial topics so you dont have to worry about them pushing an agenda. Its just great music, great welcoming people and refreshing sermons. Me and my grandma have gone all of my life and we still go every Sunday. And if you get to listen to Jacob Bales preach - you are in for a treat! He is my favorite. He is so funny ,really grabs/keeps your attention and is also very relatable. Me and my grandma are big fans of Jacob and Ephrim!! As well as all of the other speakers! Thank you Northside for being such a wonderful place.

For many, many reasons I decided to start worshiping apart from my family. Finding a church has…read morebeen difficult because when you're not a part of a family group people aren't welcoming at church. This place was different. When I arrived I was able to figure out what to do. My parent's church has bouncers - they call them greeters but I think of them as bouncers - but this church just had the door open. I was greeted by a lady named Barbara who asked if I had ever been to a Lutheran Church before and I said that I had. I'm in the unique situation of being from a blended family: my dad's Scandinavian family belongs to the German brand in this country and my mother's German family goes to the Scandinavian brand. My great-grandmother went to an even stricter, obscure version of Lutheranism. I have been to Lutheran Church. I had not been to a church like this. Barbara succinctly and gently explained how everything went during their service and where to find information. That was helpful; if I ever write a guide to church shopping or to snagging the person who is that will be the first thing I'd do. Knowing the mechanics of how the service works is important. There is nothing like disrupting the traffic pattern during the Eucharist to make you feel like a dork and not want to come back. First, churches usually feature family friendliness as something they value and support. They're apparently kid-friendly. No, not like this, not at all. Children were all over the place. There was a clutch of teens sitting together in the back, smaller children would leave their seats and go sit somewhere else for a while. I'm okay with that, all of that. Most places either have the children in another service or try to get the children to act like the octogenarians. This church was okay with the children you know, being children. It wasn't distracting but it was something I noticed and liked. I don't like kids who aren't mine but they were where they should be: in the service. Second, everyone was welcoming. I'm talking a Ron Swanson, "I'll take all your eggs and bacon." Everyone came over and said hello to me and introduced themselves. Again, I'm used to the more German, "no eye contact," version of Lutheranism. It was overwhelming. I would not have come here if I had known there would be hugging, these Scandinavian Lutherans are something else. Finally, the service was easy to follow and the homily had a concise point. It focused on what I'd like to church to focus on: how to serve God by serving others and how to enrich your faith. It was something that was edifying and enjoyable. I will be back.

Guests are treated with dignity and respect unmatched by any place I have attended before. The music embodies the excitement these people show for their love for God. Visiting here in the worst time of my life was such a blessing. Everyone cared for me in such a loving way. I think in such a crazy time and age, this church is so rock steady and unwavering in their love for what the Bible says and it's very refreshing.

When we arrived the line was almost out the door. So we stood in line for about 45 minutes. It was well worth it as the fish dinner was awesome. The fish, two large thick portions were cooked to perfection. The slaw was sweet and delicious and the onion rings were crispy, crunchy and flavorful. The fresh shrimp were an added bonus that the teenagers were serving to the people in line. I urge you to try it. You won't be disappointed.

We attended their turkey dinner fundraiser. It was awesome especially during Covid! They had many…read morevolunteers and everything was well marked. We decided to drive through and get our meals to go. They were delicious! There was a hearty serving of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and green beans. A roll was served wrapped with butter. A small cup of cranberry sauce was included. We also had our choice of desserts. I had a yummy piece of pumpkin pie. They even accommodated our vegetarian. The best part of the event was that veterans were free! We will definitely return next year!

The teaching is spot-on with the Bible, and they have plans to grow and begin teaching new classes.
