But the latter years have been exceptional too! There is a new principal and some new staff members. This school has been open for 100 years and celebrated its centennial year this year! The diversity of the congregation and Priests is appealing as well. I attended this church for several years, joined a small group, and made, what I thought, were real…read morefriends. I have attended church all of my life, but never treated like this church, it's leaders and even those "friends" have treated me. I heard some good sermons, but when real life situations come along, just know that this pastor and these people will judge you and you can become an outcast they even refuse to acknowledge. They will cut you off. It's been one of the most hurtful, but eye opening experiences in my life. This has to be the takeaway ...that pastors are just people who make mistakes, but it is my belief that they also are in a position of leadership and authority and will be led to correct those, and always act in love, like Christ. This has not been my experience with C3 Trinity or it's members whom were my "friends". I hope they never treat another person like they have me, but I'm smart enough to understand and have a realistic sense that I wasn't the first or, sadly, the last. It is my opinion that, in any church, the members should know the finances of the church they financially support...this is a major issue in churches today. When pastors have financial control and hide their personal finances, members should demand transparency.

I was active in the youth group, choir tours, church school (TSCA - for two years), worship services and still have many good friends from that era. I have never seen a church that has as pretty "real life" stained glass windows that tell the Bible story, nor EVER have I seen a dome with stain glass designs inside. If you ever got bored (I can say this since my dad was one of the ministers here) listening to the sermon, you could lean back and count the rows on the lighted dome that was a huge ceiling piece of art!

She's very intuitive and able to connect with each child in the school. The entire student body loves her! She's passionate about the school community and makes it a priority to ensure the students all have very enriching experiences. As an added bonus, we we moved to our new home, Barkha openly gave recommendations to help Montessori-tize our home to aid in our daughters learning at home. We are forever thankful for that guidance. Cleanliness is important (especially during a pandemic) and we have been very impressed with the pristine level of cleanliness the staff maintains throughout the school. The Montessori "work", library and books, as well as furniture/carpets have maintained the new appearance since we've been enrolled. Upon entry into the school, it has the most pleasant aroma. The school is small and intimate but has a warm and welcoming feel. Our daughter is more advanced academically than most kids her age and we attribute that to Willow Montessori Academy! We are so lucky to have discovered this school three (3) years ago and have witnessed how Montessori curriculum has helped her thrive and grow.

We are an imperfect bunch of people (isn't that everyone?) coming together to worship God, study the Word and apply it to our lives in community. Disciples making disciples, and a church for all: everyone's welcome. The goal is to walk alongside each other as we practice putting God's Word into action day to day. Not an easy task but it's worthwhile! The worship is awesome and the sermons are solid. Well I came during a "marriage series" which was ok but extremely stiff (coming from a married…read moreperson). It was more like advice from the pastor and his wife's book, than a Biblical message. One of the best things I've learned from preachers is to make sure every sermon speaks to the person who's never gone to a church and may never go again. At the end of the service they did ask if there was anyone wanting to "take that step for the first time", but there was nothing in the sermon that would have encouraged them to do so. God was brought up maybe twice, so the sermon gets 2 stars, the 3rd star is for benefit of the doubt. Personally, I did not feel spiritually fed. Maybe just bad timing. *But nobody talked to us, even though we came early, so the sermon is all I have to go on.

Instead, I was passing through Dallas and had the opportunity to appreciate this massive 19th century church. The historical marker reads, "First Baptist. Organized in 1868 and the first building on this was was a one-room frame structure, which members financed by weaving rugs, making hominy, preserves, and cheese to sell at fairs near Dallas, then a frontier town of 2500. Section of Victorian-style, red brick building was erected 1890; is only downtown Dallas church still on original site. George W. Truett, noted minister, was mastor here 47 years and was succeeded by W.A. Criswell, 1944." It is beyond an impressive structure and worth a visit, regardless of your support of the church.
