We absolutely love this school for our daughter. It's a fairly new school but the Head of School (Barkha) has a wealth of knowledge in the Montessori arena. She's very intuitive and able to connect with each child in the school. The entire student body loves her! She's passionate about the school community and makes it a priority to ensure the students all have very enriching experiences. As an added bonus, we we moved to our new home, Barkha openly gave recommendations to help Montessori-tize our home to aid in our daughters learning at home. We are forever thankful for that guidance. Cleanliness is important (especially during a pandemic) and we have been very impressed with the pristine level of cleanliness the staff maintains throughout the school. The Montessori "work", library and books, as well as furniture/carpets have maintained the new appearance since we've been enrolled. Upon entry into the school, it has the most pleasant aroma. The school is small and intimate but has a warm and welcoming feel. Our daughter is more advanced academically than most kids her age and we attribute that to Willow Montessori Academy! I want to be very clear that this review is not directed toward my son's teachers. London's teachers (Ms Emily & Maria) were wonderful. They were loving, patient, communicative, and played such a positive role in his development. We are genuinely grateful for them and will miss them. My issue is with the director, Barkha, and the way leadership handled concerns involving my child. My child was attending Willow for 5 months. Barkha refused to meaningfully meet with us to discuss her reasoning for holding my child back in Nido as an 18 month old, despite this being an important decision directly affecting his development and classroom placement. As parents, we simply wanted a professional conversation, clear reasoning, and an opportunity to understand the decision being made about our son. Instead, the communication we received was dismissive, unprofessional, and condescending, all conducted through WhatsApp, which is the only platform the school uses to communicate. Rather than approaching the situation collaboratively or with care, Barkha's tone and handling of the matter made us feel unheard and disrespected as parents. Furthermore, she was adamant about receiving Nido tuition and once we put a stop on tuition in order to get a conversation held, she terminated our child (this is not the standard policy). What is most disappointing is that the teachers created such a warm and supportive environment for London, but the administration's conduct did not match the quality of care being provided in the classroom. I would strongly encourage any parent considering this school to pay close attention not only to the teachers, but also to how leadership communicates when concerns arise. In our experience, the lack of professionalism, transparency, and willingness to engage in a meaningful conversation was unacceptable. read more

I would not recommend this program. Barkha appears to prioritize tuition revenue over what was best for the children. children were being held back unnecessarily, while parents were given little opportunity to discuss those decisions directly. Communication was also extremely unprofessional. Attempts to meet and discuss concerns were often unsuccessful, and most communication took place through WhatsApp, which I did not feel was an appropriate or professional way to handle important matters regarding children's education and development. Additionally, I found Barkha's interactions with parents to be condescending, petty, and sarcastic at times. Parents deserve to be treated with respect and to have their concerns heard. Overall, the lack of professionalism, transparency, and genuine partnership with families is highly disappointing. read more

Our daughter is 2 and had no previous experience with Montessori school. Since she was a pandemic baby, her options to really do things was limited. Which meant little to no social interactions. Our biggest challenge with bringing her in was her being super attached to us and not adjusting. But Barkha and her staff ensured that it would be alright and she will adjust. It's been a few months and our daughter is obsessed with the school and her teachers. She's learned so many new skills, is far more independent than before and is always so lively at pickups! Our daughter has attended Willow since their doors opened (3 years ago) and we could not be more pleased with our experience. We have always felt very safe and comfortable sending our daughter here. She has excelled academically, socially, and emotionally. The owner and Head of School, Ms. Barkha, is the real deal. Her standards are high and she always has the kids best interests in mind. The school is extremely clean and tidy. Each room is filled with age-appropriate Montessori activities from practical life, to math addition, to handwriting. There is a huge outdoor area with a playground, playhouses, chickens, vegetable gardens, a mud kitchen, and a musical wall. Nature is a big part of the curriculum! Willow also has a great community of parents and teachers. There is ample communication between everyone on a daily basis, as well as lots of social events. We are loving our time at Willow Montessori Academy! Our little one hates to be away from us, but he comes home smiling and always has great things to say about his day. The director and teachers make it a point to plan engaging activities for the children and work to encourage and foster their independence in learning. They coordinate fun filled school functions and fundraisers that build community amongst the families. Willow has an amazing outdoor space with playhouses, a garden that the children take care of, a mud kitchen, and a music wall. They celebrate cultures and unite to help others, whether that means a family in the school, collecting food for the homeless, or donating books to their little free library at Christmas. Beyond that, the space is streaming with airy light, filled with plants the kids care for and family photos, and everything is always organized. I love that they are teaching our little one to love others well and would highly recommend it for your little love(s), too. read more

It has taken me several years to write this review! I would not recommend this school to ANYONE!! Take your child somewhere else to be cared for!! Ms. Barkha was a new business owner when we attended Willow. She would push her own agenda on us as far it relates to your child's behavior. She forced us to course correct in MANY areas that were not within her certification or right to do so. I plan to write more and repost, but for all purposes.. do NOT send your child here!! My daughter attended Willow Montessori Academy for 5 months. When we toured the day care we were really excited about it. Unfortunately, we left due to inadequate care provided for our daughter. If you take your child here I would recommend to make sure you advocate for them. They are not properly staffed at least in the infant room they weren't. There was frequent staff turnover and at times only 2 teachers in the infant room with 8+ babies under one. Ultimately, we felt like our daughter was not cared for safely. She couldn't even take a proper nap because the area they nap is also the area the kids are playing, eating, etc. We left one month ago and my daughter is healthier and happier. read more

We love WMA! Ever since our child started going to WMA, we've seen a noticeably positive change - she is more interested in experiencing new things, being more curious and overall more social. I've noticed that the teachers and staff go above and beyond with all the children, making sure they are engaged, active, and learning new things every day using the Montessori method. There are very few Montessori schools in the Metroplex that begin in infancy, celebrate diversity, offer accessibility, and foster community the way WMA does. My child has been there since the beginning and is thriving!! The classrooms blend Montessori methods with free and sensory play. If you follow any Montessori blogs, Willow is right in line with the principles. Fact. There's lots of outdoor time and opportunities to learn life skills. Our child loves all the teachers at WMA!! Our child loves Willow and has been going there for a couple years! The kids are always engaged and learning new things, spending time outdoors, and growing thoughtfully. DD has been attending WMA since Day 1 and we can't imagine have taken her anywhere else. We "interviewed" couple of places and was starting to question whether or not we were going to find a place that we felt comfortable taking our daughter to everyday. I stumbled across WMA.. and haven't looked back since.(Director) Barkha made us feel super comfortable from the moment we met her!!! WE LOVE WMA!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone. The front desk is really nice but the teacher is not! My son had a terrible time here. Before our son started I asked multiple times when we would be able to come in to tour the facility so our son wouldn't be disturbed on his first day. On the "trial day" where they said this would be happening, we actually had to drop him off without coming inside at all. When we came to pick him up he kept saying everyone was mean. The next day I called to check on him multiple times and no one answered the phone. Yes, they were purposely ignoring my calls instead of telling me how he was doing because he was BEGGING to come home! 2 days later the teacher called and said he wasn't making friends there. Come to find out the teacher wasn't allowing him to play with any of the toys on the playground. Had I known the kids names had to be written on any toy they touched I would have brought more for him. However, I got a paper before hand saying he could only bring 1 item per day. We sent him to another school after this and he LOVES it! So I know it's not my child and 100% the facility. Don't send your kid here! It's terrible! They have yet to answer my calls in regards to the $200 I paid to "secure his spot" also. They are very good at ignoring parents concerns and nothing else. read more

You can NOT get ahold of anyone at this academy and it's very frustrating. I've tried calling multiple times over the course of a month, leaving voicemail, connecting on Facebook messenger, but they do not respond or even pick up the phone. I sent in a request for a visit on their Facebook page and they declined the appointment request and sent another appointment for a different day. That was all fine, but they did not check if that was ok with me, did not reply if it was in-person or virtual (and the time/date was not what was offered in the info section of their website which is conflicting information that just seems scatter-brained). I just want information, but it seems like I'll need to go physically visit the location to get any information whatsoever. It leaves a really bad first impression when I can not get ahold of anyone via ANY medium I've tried- how will I be able to get ahold of them if my child or I have a problem and need to connect?! Too many red flags and frustrating. Definitely looking elsewhere that is more professional and responsive. It's just so unfortunate because the academy looks amazing and seems to have otherwise been a good fit for our family. read more
