Additional review. So I didn't find out till 4 or 5 days after getting out and I knew if I didn't…read morego back id go on a very long bender. I decided to have a bender on the way back which was a complete mistake. I only remember getting out of the car as a passenger. Things at center pointe are never consistent from one shift to another. Corporate has changed recently and personally I do not believe for the better. Without notice they said they were changing smoke breaks from 5 to 3 smoke breaks in a 24hr period. Personally I come there because they do allow smoking and 5 breaks and 2 cigs per break is doable but not ideal for most. There was so much confusion that the nursing staff tried to take us out when they could to try and cope. Does Corporate not really realize that people are withdrawing from atleast more than one substance and to throw nicotine withdrawals on top of that is really hard on someone. I mean like myself I was detoxing from prescribed opiates and benzos, alcohol and to mess with nicotine is just enough to put anyone on edge. Yes they do offer nicotine gum. But when I asked the milligrams it was like step 4 for nicoderm step 1 thru 4 starts at like 21mg for heavy smokers. But back to the overall stay. Acute units are not allowed to go to any groups off the unit or gym. They eat all the meals in the day room and not the cafeteria. So I would definitely not recommend the acute unit. The nurses and BHA's were always going above and beyond except for a couple that were just flat out rude or "just doing their jobs" id love to shout out to the ones that stood out but dont want to say how or what they did for me but they were crucial for me getting through the hell of that unit. But for small examples One particular male nurse helped to keep me calm by arm wrestling me lol when I had a BAC of .55 plus. Since i was black out drunk a code was called on me. But I truly dont remember very much at all. I remember Mohammed helping talk me down. I really wanna thank Ashley on unit 4 she was so helpful getting me off the unit and just to a detox unit where I could attend groups and atleast 1 meal in the cafeteria. Molly is the best receptionist or A/R lady hand down that they have. Im sure I showed my worst infront of her but she still said hi if she passed in the hallways. So here is my advice. Don't come in over a .08 bac, As soon as you can ask the psych and or medical doctor for the following: A lay down order so your not locked out of your room during the day stuck in very uncomfortable chairs all day. 2nd ask for an order for your personal shoes if you have feet or back injuries (no laces bring your own flip flops, 3rd ask for an order for Ensure and Gatorade (youll get 2 of each each day) 4th ask for an order for double portions as the food is 99% pretty good. If your on a unit that goes to the cafeteria for any meal your usually only offered a peanut butter and jelly for 2nds unless your the last unit for the day and they know they have leftovers. 5th DO NOT EVER TRY TO AMA They can and more usually automatically 72 to 96hr hold you and can even get a court order to hold you longer. So dont fill out those forms they will not warn you at all. Paris saved me on this I think because a code was almost called on me when they said ha ha you have to stay against your will now. Come early in the morning so you get through A/R because your time doesn't start till your on your unit. I showed approx at 330pm on a Fri but was told it was 1am before I got to the unit and my bracelet had an admitted date of Saturday. Which at the end each day feels like minutes are hours. Oh yeah the cool big A/R guy that always has nice new shoes is super nice and Kinzie is badass too. Arkansas from unit 4 was soooooo much help I cant even say. I am bad with names but the BHA that worked for agency seemed to care more than most of the BHAs thst actually worked there. 85% of the staff are awesome but those 15% that shouldn't be there or are burnt out should not be there point blank. I mean that for all departments from janitors to even higher ups. Lastly Jason is some sort of Director of nurses or equivalent and he is not someone you wanna piss off. He can be your friend or your worst enemy but he is a good guy. And last lastly Lou gives straight to the point groups. He hates to be interrupted with people raiding their hands though. There are alot of positive others too. ARKANSAS IS UP AT THE TOP OF MY LIST!!! If smoking is cut out or reduced down to the rumored 3 breaks per 24hrs i will definitely go else where. Just the small changes made already mid visit were a nightmare. It had everyone in edge that we were told that one of the activity people was running late and as she showed up 1 min before us getting to smoke instead she got brutally moaned and groaned at that she became very sad that people didnt wanna see her. She is such a great worker for center pointe. Meg-On rocks!!! Had to shorten this to 5000 characters.

Leornard, and Nick great for unit 3.........JASON IN PHARMACY IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Very unhelpful…read moreregarding help w/meds.

I have been to the ER several times, for both myself and my family. Each time we were treated with…read morecare, kindness and compassion. My last visit I entered with complaints of stomach ache which was later diagnosed with acute appendicitis and needed surgery asap. I was sedated for the pain and was later moved to a room for surgery the next day. The surgery went well and as expected. I felt so much better. I was able to eat breakfast and ordered. It was nice and I also ordered lunch, a tuna salad sandwich, which I discovered a strand of hair, ugh, not good. I was later released and able to walk out on my own. I did have a small issue with a night nurse, she needed blood around 3am, cool, ok, no problem, however, she wanted to stick me and had the iv in place already, I asked her to please use that, she seemed to be annoyed and said " well, it may not work" I didn't understand why it would not, but thankfully it did, I hate needles!! The room was set up very nice and this was right after the pandemic, and only 2 people could visit for the day, which was a bummer, but still ok and they did seem to be bummed out they had to do this also. I would come back again for treatment.

My husband was transferred from an urgent care nearby to this hospital by ambulance to the ER. I…read moregot to the urgent care when they loaded him up and were going to leave to transfer. I ended up in front of the ambulance and they weren't even driving the speed limit... They also took the longest route to get to the emergency entrance... We got there around 2:30pm and just waited and waited and he was feeling like he was going to black out. If it weren't for his mother advocating for someone to come get him an IV, I'm sure he would've just blacked out. 3:15p they took him for blood work and get an IV. He was back there for 8 minutes at 3:23pm. He wasn't shaken up but he was freezing. I asked someone at the front desk if they had socks for him and she was kind enough to get those. That's where the 1 star goes to which is sad because that is literally the bare minimum. 4:20pm a woman is walking around like a hostess asking all patients in the waiting area if they needed anything. She asked if she could get my husband another IV bag since it was now empty. We said yes. 5:07pm - I asked for an update on the wait and the sock lady left so it was someone new who had absolutely no bedside manner. When I walked up she saw me coming and turned to the other woman at the front desk and kept talking until I interjected. She said there's no queue and that we would just have to wait. That they opened up an overflow but people are just getting chairs not even a room. I was like okay...? 5:08pm the hostess woman came around and asked if we needed anything. It felt like Groundhog Day because she had no recollection of saying she would ask to get another IV bag for my husband. We said yes again especially after she said that it would help. Perhaps she was a patient with dementia that was previously a nurse and was wondering around the facility without anyone noticing because none of us were being taken care of anyway. 5:15pm with 10 people in the waiting room now and people who has just walked in were being seen before my husband. We checked MyChart and saw that the bloodwork was done and just looked up the results ourself with AI and google since that's what doctors do nowadays anyway. Nothing looked concerning but he will schedule a visit with his PCP. He was starting to feel like himself again because he was getting pissed about the wait. 5:50pm and someone who just walked in was taken back right away with the same name. I walked over to confirm if they were taking the right person and the nurse verified it was him and not my husband. It wasn't until my husband got up and said a nurse needs to come out and take out his IV because we were leaving for them to all of a sudden have a sense of urgency. Waited 8 min for someone to come out to take everything out for a whole 5 minutes. 5 minutes which would've been plenty of time to go over his bloodwork and then leave. This place is an absolute disaster. There was another patient who walked in and was told that this place has shorter wait times and after he heard how long we had been waiting him and his wife decided to leave as well. It was lucky neither were dying. If you care about your health or loved ones, opt for St Luke's in chesterfield. That place is actually filled with staff who are attentive, efficient, caring, and understand what hospitality truly means. Worth the drive since you'd be waiting in this place anyway...
